44C is mine, i lived at hot country (south east asia). 44C still safe for hardware itself?

Its my understanding of lithium batteries that they handle heat well up to 130°f. 44c=111°f. The life of lithium is impacted by higher temperatures at its upper range for extended periods. The CPU I'm not sure about. I've noticed mine gets that hot only when gaming while charging. Is that how it happened for you or where you on battery? Just curious

Yes on battery, never ever playing game while on charging.
If playing in my room with air con only reach ~41C
If play at outside reach ~44C
Note : Disable thermal throttle and Max clock speed only 1.4Ghz

I recently started watching the battery temperature on my Verizon SMT5800 phone, and was surprised at how hot the battery got while charging. It has reported internal temperatures as high as 210 degrees Celsius (410 degrees Fahrenheit) while charging. Some documents that I have found on the Web suggest that this indicates that the battery is being overcharged. The battery becomes merely warm to the touch, which might mean that the internal temperature is not as high as reported, or might simply mean that it is well-insulated. What sort of battery temperatures are normal for Lithium Ion batteries?

I suspect that the battery's internal sensor may be reporting a higher temperature than is actually present. I talked to Verizon tech support, and they told me to bring the phone by a Verizon store so that they can test the battery. I plan to do so.

The temperature as reported by you of 210 degrees centigrade would certainly melt your device down. The temperature you saw is full of flaw in the application, it can't be true anyway.
I have now tried two other batteries, with similar readings. While it is possible that all three batteries had faulty sensors, it seems more likely that the battery interface isn't standardized across manufacturers, and the data is being misinterpreted. The two applications that I have been using to retrieve the temperature, SBSH Facade and Accosto BLifePlug, are both general Smartphone applications, not HTC-specific.
My battery temp currently reads 3 degrees C. I quit really paying Arthur to it day one. It always reads slightly above freezing.
I don't find a need to check battery temperature. Moreover, phone/battery tend to become warmer when its charging.

I don't really check exact temperatures. If it feels unusually warm (pretty only if I'm tethering and charging simultaneously) I prop it up in front of my desk fan. Otherwise I don't really worry about it. Batteries are made to withstand a good amount above/below normal operating temperatures.

So is mine! It has been like that since I started using custom roms (with no or hardly any overclocking). I think it was lower on stock. Which rom are you using?
It reaches about 30º on HTC desire.
But not on Sumsung moment using now.
I got the temp light only once when I first got the captivate. I was downloading a lot of you tube with a dead batt and charging
Something Ive always wondered, what is an "AVERAGE" battery temperature for cell phones? I ask because im using setcpu and i never knew the temp. to start getting concerned . Right now it is 87.6 degrees with the low clock at 1ghz on demand at all times.

That is normal temperature. Once you use the phone (play games, internet, etc) it will reach around 90-100 degrees.

There are several different applications on the android market which will tell you the temperature of your battery in Celsius and Fahrenheit. That is about average temp, I have two phones sitting next to me right now and they are both in the mid 80's range on the temp. You want to be concerned if your battery reaches temperatures exceeding 101 degrees (Fahrenheit) (38 Degrees Celsius) when doing any activity and especially if it is getting that hot while sitting in standby.
I've had a recent problem with mine the other day I was having a really bad battery drain and the battery was over heating bad(im talking 105 degrees) since then I was able to fix what was draining the battery but I noticed when I use only my car charger (which was meant fire my vibrant) it heats up. I'm thinking the car charger voltage is different.

the highest mine ever got was 56C
i could have probably fried an egg with that
Mine stays around 82 while screen off. On and playing games it got up to 110.

I don't really know the tolerances, but from personal experience of groping various phones, I'd say no more than 50C internally, no more than 40-45C on the case.
Why don't you just Google this, my man?!
I get worried when I see my temps over 35C! The highest I've seen fast charging while intense gaming was 38C!!!
Should limit fast charging ovet 40C, 1/2C charge rate over 45C stop charging <55C - 60C

... that just tell me my note 7 i had would have exploded eventually I know with just fast charging i know it went past 50c and bluray video went to 70-80c till it regulated it self after few video to 50-60c.
Still I say any hardware should be 30-50 at best 30-40 idle. High usage i say 60-75ish... but anything over 80c you need large concern as that not even a good temp for computer that often.
Batt temp: 30-40
CPU temp : 38-60
Quite good but will do replacement in next 2 weeks

Is it normal for this device to heat up from basic usage (such as browsering and social media).
By heat I do not mean overheating but it does make the hand feel quite warm.
This worries me alot since I get annoyed by phones who get hot with basic usage.
Would this be because of the sd870 chip?
For me it does warm up a little bit during normal use but it's way better than my previous phones, idk maybe my standards of phone temperature is different than y'all. And if it was running a SD888 it would be even worse.

I think mayb the issue is me comparing it to a snapdragon 730g
This was my concern also but in my case hearing was mostly during charging. I replaced the device and so far things are a tad bit better

Charging especially fast charging produce heat.
Charging is an electrochemical reaction that requires a certain amount of heat to charge properly. Oddly Li charging is a mildly endothermic reaction but resistive elements in the cell produce much more heat than is absorbed.
♤Do not use phone while charging as it will skew the charging curve.
♤Listeners to music (no internet streaming) on bt with screen off is generally ok.
Best start temperature for fast charging is 82°F or higher (85-90°F seems optimum on my N10+).
Do not let battery temperature exceed about 101°F while charging, cool as needed.
♤I use a fan and/or a damp microfiber cloth to keep it cool, works well.
Li plating will permanently degrade your battery and can cause outright failures.
Never charge a Li polymer that is near freezing temperatures.
Charging below 72°F or in high temperatures (exact value unknown, some say >140°F but this may not apply to Li polymer) My Note 10+ will stop charging at about 102°F so hence the 100°F limit. In any case temperatures higher than 90°F aren't needed for fast/optimum charging and only shorten the lifespan of the battery.

Nope, miui is chock full of bloatware and make these phone warm up even some basic task. Tried several custom room in our forum, no heat up at all
I think it has to do since its summer too, debloated through but it still gets warm using social if I'm outside or if its under the sun.
From my logic this has 100% to do with a higher end cpu since as I said my sister samsung a71 does not do that.
Mostly worried that the xiomi build quality is **** that's why I asked

Use manual brightness control. Try to avoid going over 50%... and don't use in direct sunlight. High screen brightness increases current drain/heat a noticeable amount.
You're on to something when it comes to brightness... Newer panels that are being used in the latest Chinese devices all have very high sustained brightness. Which is nice and all but no1 had considered how that will play in combination with the newest chips,
If you compare F2 and F3 the earlier model only had sustained brightness of 500cd/m2 whereas the newer model can sustain 900cd/m2 of brightness - that's a huge difference
Then what about chips? Both snapdragon 888 and 870 are dumpster fires ( Even the dimensity chips ) , while the performance gain is insane compared to last gen so is the heat output... And sadly even the gaming devices with cooling fans struggle to keep the chips from throttling. Take black magic 6 pro for a shameless example (snap 888), it reaches upwards of 55C on the phone body itself during benchmarking with no signs or intention for throttling down to save your hands- that itself should be illegal but no1 ****ing cares since how else are they gonna reach those benchmark numbers.... ( 54C can cause full thickness burns in a matter of 30 seconds or so )
I don't have poco f3 to check but from looking at stress tests on YouTube you can see that they are much more conservative when it comes to heat. It reaches only 42C during benchmarking then starts to throttle down and basically hovers around that temp 42C-44C.
The chips are already insanely good when it comes to performance but the cooling is pacing behind... So yeah it's pretty normal that your device is getting hot - so is every other device on the flagship market rn. Most you can do to solve that would be in this order > Get a peltier cooling device like blackshark fun cooler pro > Lower the brightness to what's usable for you and hope it's enough to somewhat delay the throttling > The last one would be messing with the phone itself like downclocking it or lowering the voltage. It's a cat and mouse game , the throttling will come eventually , the only way out I see would be the first option or the last one if you're capable enough to mess with that and are lucky enough to get a chip that undervolts nicely.

Simply use a damp microfiber cloth.
While playing games my Red Magic 6 phone does get quite warm even with the built in fan. Is the Dual Core Cooler or Pro Ice Dock for the Red Magic 6 worth buying to keep the temps down.
While playing games like Genshin Impact temps can reach somewhere around 37°C to around 40°C on medium settings (or 48°C when playing at max settings)
The typical normal CPU temperatures with mobile devices range between 30 to 35 °C continuous browsing considering the ambient temperature around is close to 27 to 30 °C. When it comes to heavy gaming the temperatures soar at 40 to 44 °C.
Take note that a high CPU temperature is not caused by the CPU itself. Games generally do not put pressure on CPU, but on the GPU. The GPU usage for the 3D HD games are generally very high, and can cause such temperature increase. So yes, that kind of 'GPU' temperature is normal while gaming

Hi there,
May i reconfirm again which temperature is the most concerned part for a gaming smartphone? Is it its cpu or the battery?
I experienced quite frequently overheat issue as cpu temperature could reach 50°c while the battery boost up till 45°c and it boasting rapidly until you can feel the stress when you are gaming in warm surrounding.
Attached is my reference using cpu/gpu meter notification app

I can only measure the battery temperature on this phone. And it reports that the temps rise from 35°C to 47°C - 50°C. Right now I haven't played anything so temps are really low, but this is the only way I can measure it.
