[Q] HELP! - Sprint LG Optimus G

Hey guys, I'm in a deep load of scheiz, excuse my german. You see I dropped my LG Optimus G and the touch screen is completely inactive. And I need to connect it to my pc through usb to transfer my files to my new phone but when I plug it in it automatically goes into charge only mode. I need a way to put it into debugging mode through my pc. I know how to do it through the phone but I'm just unable to use my phone. If anyone has any ideas pleasee help me. I had a lot of files on there that I don't want to lose.

Did you have LG cloud app on your device? If so then your photos, videos, music and docs are safe, and your contacts should be on gmail. If not then...there is no way to switch to mtp usb. Sorry.

[Q] Desktop sync app that supports MTP and reasonably useful?

Hi!
What desktop apps are available to sync (read: transfer back and forth) music, videos, and photos for the Galaxy S III (which you know only supports MTP; no microSD card)?
I already tried:
1) Kies locks up when downloading podcasts, doesn't "Transfer to Device" (just sits there), and doesn't integrate with Google Play (!).
2) DoubleTwist and Miro (tried both) only support USB Mass Storage and not MTP.
What...is this even possible? I'm a little taken aback, seeing as this phone is purportedly the top Android phone out now. I just want it to sync with Google Play, add some podcasts, and move some photos around. And, honestly, I can just download the files from Google Play, so I just want to add podcasts and move pictures, lol.
Thanks in advance.
AFAIK its Kies or bust. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Shucks, you might be right. So, I tried Kies again. It actually did "Transfer to Device!" But, for whatever reason, it took about a few minutes to start (some file I had was missing and it got stuck).
And, for whatever reason, now Podcasts are downloading, too! Humph...maybe I was having a bad day with it. But, no Play Store integration: I guess I don't really need that.
Thank you for the reply; it motivated me to try again!

Check out easy phone sync... It's not available in some regions. For music, I use easy phone tunes to sync with itunes.

I have an USB issue... when i connect my phone to pc it connects then disconnects mediately - no notifications on a phone... then if i reboot a phone it works normally for a day then back to connect/disconnect loop.... if i go to storage and put check mark on "mass storage" it does not change a thing and only way to bring usb back is to reboot. so, every time I want to move files to/from pc , i have to reboot my phone. It is very inconvenient...
Does anybody experiences the same issue?
I would like to get to root cause of this problem... does anybody know what process is responsible for monitoring USB connection?
All ideas are appreciated...

Trying to get music and videos off my Note II

Recently I start taking videos and making short films. I tried to get media off my phone and it is as if they have come up with measures to keep that from happening (security I guess). Can anyone shed any light on the subject and a process where I can take my music that I bought from Amazon MP3 and videos that I have taken and get them on my PC or Mac with out all the hassle.
Amazon MP3 has a way you have to download their app on your pc then sync and all that. I like the old days where I could just plug in my usb cord and drag and drop.

Uhm I have no problem getting the stuff off the Note 2 with PC. I just plug the phone into the usb and go to computer and then it shows Samsung I713 or something then click on it. Gives me the option to open the Micro sd card folder or the internal folder. Maybe turn on or check the debug mode located in settings then Developers options usb debugging. Don't know if this is it but worth a shot.
Mine is on btw.:good:
For the Mac you're going to need a program called Android File Transfer. You cannot have Kies installed on the mac while using it.. So you'll need to use the uninstall option from the dmg.
The amazon mp3's and such (if stored natively) will probably be found in a different folder than all of your other music.
There is no security in place to prevent someone from plugging the phone in via usb and transferring files.
As ^^ mentioned.. You may need to turn on debugging mode.
Did you install the drivers for the phone on your windows PC?

[Q] recover files from phone with broken screen

I have a Sprint LG Optimus G with a broken and unresponsive touch screen. :crying:
I've found answers about how to replace the screen and about how to recover files from different phones with dead screens, but nothing for the Optimus G.
Here's the question:
Is it possible to connect my phone to my PC and transfer all the files?
Currently when I connect the phone it is only in charging mode. I can't use the phone screen to put in MTP (file transfer) mode.
You can try using the adb pull command, might be able to pull the entire sdcard

Use Linux. I currently use Fedora, and adb connects to my phone without problems. The great thing about is that you don't need drivers.
If you don't run some sort of linux os on your box I would suggest installing virtualbox and creating a guest Linux machine.
I believe the popular distros have adb and android-tools in their repos so it shouldn't take you long to get a guest machine setup. Good luck on getting that data.
Try snap pea..I broke my screen once also and was able to transfer my contacts, pics, and any apks that I needed.....download it to your PC then connect your phone it will sync with your phone. you'll see your phones screen on your pc

similar issue, need help!
I am having a similar problem and need a hand!!!!!
stock phone with a shattered screen that is completely unresponsive.
It's default is set to charge only when plugged in so i can not figure out a way to get pictures ect. off the phone.
Since there is no OTG support I can't change it to MTP(data sync) and Snappea doesn't recognize the phone since it is not on that setting.
Anybody have any ideas?? It's killing me, I already have my new device but can't transfer anything.
