Hey, been using CM9 for about 10 months.
Can someone recommend a new daily driver?
Also, what is the difference between the forms "Android Development" and "Original Android Development"? Which section should I be looking in for recent, stable roms?

Best ROM threads are forbidden..
Oh, an Android Development is development where files that aren't yours have been used (kangs, ports, sense roms)
Original Android Development is ROMs compiled from source.
Not looking for a best rom just a recommendation based on stability and daily use.

Nothing. Not until they add the device. This will only compile roms for CM supported devices

What are the two ROMs in the Dev section of this forum (the DARKSIDE CM7 Hybrid and another nameless one)? I'm fairly new to this, so I apologize if this comes off as naive.

They seem to be kanged builds not official builds

Someone downloaded the compiled CM7 build linked in the dev section, and modified it, just like the devs take the OEM roms, modify them, and flash them (think of the alpha as a stock Samsung rom, and think of one of the other CM7 roms as a rom from adt or team kang, just without making the original much better [not knocking team kang or adt in anyway]).

This maybe a stupid question but back in the day the development threads were only one. There were no "original" development section, I'm wondering when did this happen and what's the difference between either thread? (Same thing with my previous phone the gnex) Thanks.
As far as I can tell, "original" section is for ROMs created entirely by the devs based on the official Android sources.
The "regular" dev section is for cooked ROMs based on existing ROMs like Samsung's releases.

Ahh that makes sense the original section is all AOSP and the other is based off Samsung GS3 official builds.

Are there a rom pure Android out there?
I would be interested to try, have now MIUI 10.1 and this running wery well.
I have no reboot or any other problems, but interested to try a pure Android

In your opinion what's the most stable and bug free Sense based Android 7 custom rom out there?

Also, the question is easy to answer: There are no Sense based Android 7 ROMs for the M8. Android 6 is the latest for Sense.

Edit: there are ported sense 7 custom ROMs ported from the HTC 10, from what I've read.

Sense 7 is not the same as Android 7. Also, it was Sense 8 that was ported from the HTC 10 (and still Android 6).
There are only 3 ROMs with Sense 8 (S.ROM, LeeDroid and ICE) so just pick one or two and flash them, and try for yourself. They are all stable and great ROMs.
I'm currently running the Resurrection Remix Rom. While not Sense based, it is Android 7.1.2. It's super slick. The only, and I mean only downside is that you can't use android auto with it. I'm working on finding a way around that, but for now that is how it is.
None of them are as smooth as sense based marshmallow from my testing.
I've also tried GPE 6.0 ROM and it's simply not as smooth as Sense. I really don't get it

I've also tried a GPE based rom back on Lollipop and found the same. But regarding bugs, is it a boring issue still?

There's quite a few on 7.x but nothing major. If you use Maps to get across places then I certainly wouldn't recommend
Which Rom would you prefer and why ?
Right now my phone runs with AOSP .
Not bad, but I wanna try some more Custom Rom's

I always install ROMs that are very popular and respected generally on XDA. (LineageOS, RR, AOSP Extended, PixelExperience, Paranoid Android)
