If it helps you hit his thanks button.

Or you have the settings under developer checked for showing all processes.
Okay after looking at your screenshots its not what I thought at all ha this is a good one glad you have it under warranty still but I think a new rom would fix it.
I'll be back in a flash

No such option selected !!
Btw, how do I go to /efs/imei/keystr ??
The instructions in the other thread says to do following:
"You have to go into /efs/imei/keystr
and delete keystr and make a new file called keystr and use text editor in root explorer to type ON in it and reboot."
Edit: My phone is not rooted at all.. And i wasn't messing around with it either when the screen showed up!
I installed a file explorer.. I see folder efs but when I go into that, no imei or any other folder shows up.. it's blank!
Please help!

You need a root file explorer(I use es file explorer). Go into settings and enable r/w options. Then you should be able to find the efs directory.
Edit: so I saw your post in the other thread that says you aren't rooted. The only other way that I know to get rid of the text is to flash a different ROM.

I contacted Samsung and the guy on phone did not understand what I was saying! LOL.. Anyways, they asked me to send it back.. so, lets see what they do.. btw.. anyone know how fast is the samsung warranty centre?
I wish they did like Google, replace the phone.. No repairs!

Contact images gone from text messages

Here's the deal, my contact's images are still on my phone in the contacts list and when making calls. But, they are gone from my text messages. I have wiped cache/dalvik, fixed permissions, cleared data from the app, reflashed my rom. Any body hae any other ideas of what might synch the images back up?
what rom are you using?
and have you tried removing/re adding or changing the contact picture and see if it shows up?

I'm on MikG3.11
I haven't done that, most pics are synched from FB and a few are from my gallery but, none are working, its so weird. If I bring up a contact and check our message history from there, everything is right but, if I access the messages from the app drawer or desktop shortcut, no images.
????
try what i suggested, if that dont work i suggest a rom reflash or trying to contact MikG

then set the permissions back to the way they are below
That should get them working again.

I can confirm that this worked with me on ICS.
Just dont know how to:
1. I can select them all
2. But when I press permissions by long press on the list it just changed the permissions for only the file which was just under my finger. Not to all of them.
So I had to do them one by one...
If anybody can instruct me how to change the permission for the whole selections I would be grateful.

How to delete TWRP backups from GN?

OKay I'm coming from a Nexus S where things seemed to be so much easier. I initially had CWM but when I performed a backup I could not find my backups anywhere using windows. So I went into CWM and deleted the backup created by CWM and installed TWRP. Well I did a backup using that and when I restarted my phone and went to view my backup again I couldn't find it. So I deleted TWRP and installed CWM again.
Now I went to install from SD on CWM and I finally seen my folders that I couldn't see on Windows. I'm guessing they're on the root of the SD file and I can't locate it on my phone at all. So I was wondering how would I go about deleting it on ADB. Please help.
Here's a picture of where TWRP is on phone and the backup that I can't view on TWRP but can see on CWM.

So how would I delete it? I can't find it on my phone or Computer. But I can see it when I go into CWM.
Nevermind I figured it out.

Go into TWRP, click on restore then click on the backup you want to delete. There will be a button that says "Delete Backup".
Image of said button.
for me. I can see my twrp backup using a file manager (and using root browser) and I can see the backup on my pc BUT, when i boot into twrp it says the backup folder is empty! and when i try to delete the 4.6gb back up file using my pc or using root browser it fails to delete the file (no error, just says 'Unable To Delete File'...what gives!? I'd really like that 4,6 gigabytes of space back on my phone lol!

[Q] When sideloading app, can't select the install button - SOLVED

Hi,
Hopefully I am not missing something too obvious but I am running the stock ROM, rooted, 4.3. I have enabled 'Unknown Sources' in the security settings. I have tried updating the Amazon App Store, updating an Xposed module and installing an app on my SD card. Each time I get to the screen showing the permissions and to Cancel or Install. I can click Cancel but when clicking Install nothing happens - it doesn't select. It just stays on the same screen. It isn't grayed out or anything just won't let me select it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Open GOOGLE Settings > Verify Apps and make sure its unchecked.
Also try Settings > General > Security and see if the Verify Apps is checked. If it is then uncheck it.
Thanks for your help. Both of these are already unchecked. I unchecked them in my troubleshooting. Any other ideas?
Show me a screen shot of what its doing
Here is an image. If I touch the Cancel button it turns orange and will activate if clicked and cancel it. If I touch Install it does not turn orange and does nothing:

Here's how mine looks like when I sideload apps.

Do you have the app you want to install on your SD card? After updating to 4.3, I can no longer sideload apps from the SD card. I have to copy it over to the onboard memory and then install. Might want to give that a shot.
Thanks Blazinazn. I tried moving it to internal storage but it still didn't work.
Double0EK, I don't get the first popup box it goes directly to the second image. I can't press that Install button as I mentioned earlier. You gave me an idea and I unchecked 'Package Installer' as the default but I still don't get the pop up. I also tried installing apk's using ES File Explorer and I get a toast message that 'Install Failed'.
Thanks again.
Try clearing data and cache for the 'Package Installer' app.
BAM! Cleared the cache and I can now install these apps not on Google Play. Thank you so much for your assistance!
Damn...I was going to suggest that earlier. . Don't know why I took so long. Glad it worked out.

[Q] Please help to remove menu on Galaxy Note 2 SHV-E250S

I bought a Galaxy Note 2 (i605 Verizon) but by mistake I got a Korea version SHV-E250S instead. I do like it though but it has a black menu always appears on the home screens as shows in the picture and I could not find a way to remove that menu even I tried all of the Setting and I do believe there must be a way to do so. Does anyone have an idea?
