well that doesn't look good. can you boot to the ouya launcher or are you stuck there?
if you can boot normally i would suggest doing it your self instead of using the toolbox. its not really that hard and it gives you a better understanding of whats going on for later down the road.

manually, the gist of it is use adb to move a file, then use adb to fastboot an image. you may have better luck.

works better doing a manual installation thanks

Alright! thats what i like to hear! good job brother. keep up the good work.

I have the same problem I did all the process manually and I see the same buggy menu :s what am i doing wrong?

try redownloading the CWM zip and be sure to check the md5sum, then do it manually. follow the instructions in the write up exactly.
the key is here to fastboot CWM.img first, then flash CWM.zip. notice the different file extensions! you may have flashed the .img
give it a shot and fill us in.

yes i know i put the zip on sdcard and i boot the img from my laptop ( I installed fastboot drivers on windows 8 )
I got a black screen in bootloadfer mode and I execute the img file from my laptop and I got the purple screen too
I will verify the checksums again tonight but in the tutorial i did not see any checksum or md5 to verify it :s

hmmm...crazy. OP was kinda vague in his results, but said he only got bad results using the toolbox.
you are right, no md5 :/
good to hear you got the drivers right. thats important.
other than redownloading and starting again from the beginning, i don't really know what to say. screw around with it?
sry dude.

Close your left eye... lift your right foot off the ground...turn your head toward your computer screen...and post in the correct forum.
how do I make pancakes?
seriously though, go into recovery, pick the file you want to flash, do so. the end.
(following that instruction is likely to cause problems. but so is asking vauge questions, and asking them in the wrong section, and not doing any research, and flashing ANYthing without understanding what flashing means, and... and...)

Haha, really man. Just read around through the forums and little bit. You can't flash files if your phone isn't rooted first and if you don't know what that means then try that first. If u can't figure that out then give up. Not being a ****, just saying.

Read the following article:

hopefully you were able to figure it out...it isnt that difficult.
1) Put the file you want to flash on your SD card (not in any subfolders)
2) boot in recovery
3) choose install .zip from sd
4) choose the file
5) wait for it to be done.
probably should do a backup first.
1. put zip in root of sd card
2. reboot in recovery
just remember roms require you to wipe cache, dalvik, and data.
themes usually require wipe cache and if they specify also dalvik.
if its an upgrade you usually dont need to wipe
3.flash zip from sd card(look for the file you want to zip and confirm)
and yes wrong forum, but when you first start doing this it happens good luck flashing

[HELP] Can't Flash Recovery.

When I flash the recovery.
it's fail and hang.

Which recovery are you trying to flash?
Try redownloading it (and not renaming it before you flash)

Did you rename recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.2-maguro-gsm.img to 1.img?
And you flash it from your android-sdk/platform-tool folder where adb&fastboot are?
Have you searched on the forum?
If you did you found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1428414
Did you try the solution there?
(BTW: make sure you have the right drivers installed and that your device is recognised. Be aware that drivers in Android mode might not work in ADB/Fastboot mode)

I have tried it..but also solve the problem of "too many link"
I have the same situation here.
I tried all tips at XDA topics about silimar problems and all they failed.
I don't have knowledge to say, but I think that its a hardware problem, specifically at memory, because everything I try to flash freeze the screen like the picture at first post.
nvm just saw the giant picture..

@op,
1- did you encrypt your phone?
2- are you running windows cli as administrator?
3- try to update your bootloader to the latest
4- what drivers are you using? Use 1wayjohnny's naked drivers (find them at dev forum)

Vzw nexus wiped system

Hey i accident did a system wipe instead of doing a regular wipe and i can only boot into fastboot mode now when i try to boot normally it only stays on GOOGLE screen with the little unlock symbol but like i said i can get into fastboot mode. I tried using the Gnex toolkit 7.4 but it wont downlaod any roms because it says it cannot connect to Goo.im anyone know how i can get a rom on this thing? THank you in advanced.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Well...coincidentally goo.im is down.
But use post 3 of my guide (or your ******* toolkit if you insist) to push a rom.zip to your phone and install it.
Wiping system just wipes the rom.
So if you have a download for the same rom you were on...you can simply flash it and not wipe anything.

Soft Bricked!

Hi all,
I wiped my /system so that i could clean install the latest PA. However the PA zip file is now corrupted and I currently have no OS. Is there any way I can push a valid zip file? I'm running cwm touch recovery.
Also, PS: i run win 8 on my laptop. Kindly direct me to the necessary working drivers if need be.
Any help will be much appreciated!
Thanks!

When in cwm can you get adb devices dected by cmd?
If so try adb push (eg: adb push PA.zip/sdcard /)

yes, boot in cwm, connect your phone type "adb devices" and you will see serial number "recovery"
so you can push zip following command posted in my sig

Good day to yall!
I've been trying to download the Pixel Experience ROM on my phone for the past few hours and I keep getting this error.
I've already used the ./adb kill-server; ./adb start-server commands on PowerShell and my device says I've given all the necessary permissions to the computer I'm performing the ROM installation on. But I keep getting the same error over and over again.
Any help would be appreciated!!

I have. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to make use of the "XiaoMiTool_V2", which is the tool I'm using to install the ROM on my phone.
And after I kept on trying, I noticed that my main problem is that when I get to the phase in which my phone enters recovery mode, it unistalls TWRP, or more specifically, it deletes the image. And after that it just reboots and the process fails. However, I was not able to figure out how to solve the problem... Still would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

If you've managed to install TWRP properly you cannot boot into MIUI. MIUI removes TWRP if allowed to boot.
Follow the guide: https://telegra.ph/Flashing-PEPPUI-09-09
This guide is the official one and has more details on the installation process: https://wiki.pixelexperience.org/devices/begonia/install/
Compass.
I sincerely thank you. I was able to install everything properly with the help of the guide you linked.
Cheers!
So the issue you had was you had to select "ADB Sideload" on TWRP to make the tool detect it
also MIUI automatically replaces your recovery every time you boot to system
