Hi I am a noob on Tasker, Pretty cool program that I'm trying to figure out and having trouble with the Camera Action. I recently got a Pebble watch and using Pebble task to control the camera. However I can't seem to take a decent photo with it, Auto Focus doesn't seem to work.. If anyone is a Guru on Tasker who knows how to activate the Auto Focus on our Camera or anything I can do to make it work I would appreciate it.
Thanks!
B
I love Tasker and use it a lot. One thing I miss compared to my old CM Nexus One is the possibility to switch between 2G/3G with Tasker. Maybe it is possible with some custom kernel, I will try.

After countless downloads I found a camera apk that really has a silent shutter. It's called "Super Spy Camera+" and it is made exclusively for the Galaxy S line. Not a whole lot of features, so you'll want to keep a default camera apk installed, but it's just what the doctor ordered if you want to creep on someone and stay STOCK!
Link please

Is this program completely silent? Rooted phones can easily eliminate the shutter sound, but not the auto focus beep. Thanks.

ABSOLUTELY Silent.
No auto focus, it's a bare bones camera apk, that's why you'll want another camera apk installed for your "legit" pics. Ha Ha.
And as far as ROOT goes, every phone I had and rooted was to run a GS2 type ROM. There is nothing out there that has me excited enought to even want to root my phone right now, too many issues at the present.
Here's a modified epic touch camera apk with the sound removed. Not my work; just posting the find.

That's cool but you have to be rooted. I'm not trying to roll the dice like that until we have more developement for this phone.
Spy Camera+ will install as a second camera apk, NO ROOT, without repalcing STOCK.
Good find, too many ads though, and the + version is 2 expensive for dat simple camera... vignette works better...

Vignette won't silent shutter sounds. My Super Spy Camera+ doesn't have ads. Do you even have it to be able to make such a statement, either of them?

The method that required root worked perfectly, 100% usage of the stock camera/camcorder app but without the auto focus or shutter sounds.
Rooting is really easy, and there is a way to do it and have the stock kernel (I wouldn't have rooted otherwise).
It's stupid you can't turn off the sound through the settings though... you could on my last HTC phone.
Yay multiwindow.

Contextual Awareness
(1) Page Buddy: Your phone will smartly predict what you intend to do according to your actions. For example, when you plug in your earphones, the device automatically opens up a page with the music player.
(2) Contextual Menu: When you list up apps, you can now choose to see the most frequently used ones first. Especially convenient when you’re looking through apps to find files to attach.
(3) Contextual Tag: When you take a picture on the phone, you can tag the weather, date, and place immediately.
*Enhanced Features*
(1) Multi Window: You can open two different apps at the same time into two different windows on the mobile screen.
(2) Auto Share Shot Pairing using NFC: By setting the camera to ‘Auto Share Shot’ mode, you can quickly share your photos and videos by simply tapping their GALAXY S III with other NFC and S-Beam enabled devices
(3) Reader Mode: You can easily control the size of the text on your browser! Also, you can just click the webpage to share it!
(4) Facebook Lock Ticker: The easiest way to see your Facebook News Feeds – set your phone to show it on your lock screen.
How do these new features sound? Exciting? But wait, we still got more so come back soon for part 2!
Dammit I was just about to post this. You beat me to it

Before everyone points it out we've had "reader" since ICS... not sure why it's called a new feature.
The other stuff I don't really care about lol. I hope part 2 is more exciting.
Considering most of these Note II features are not even available on the T-Mobile Note II, I'm not hopeful about the prospects of Tmo ever pushing this out.

But it gives devs the necessary files to easily add the features to their ROMs. So it's good

MULTIMEDIA
Paper Artist: You can make a picture like a pop artist. Change the moods of your pictures whenever you want.
Low Light Shot: It’s always tough to take pictures in dark places. So the Galaxy S III with Premium Suite has a Low-Light-Shot function.*Get your hands on one and check out the difference!
Best Face: The problem with group pictures? Somebody always, ALWAYS blinks. Well, Best Face is your solution to that. Best Face takes 5 consecutive pictures and lets you choose the best face for each person among those shots.
NEW FEATURES AND BETTER ACCESSIBILITY
Easy Mode: For first-time smartphone users and/or those who are really really, well, lazy. This function helps you set up the most five frequently used widgets on the home screen, so you don’t have to be tired of looking everywhere to find those apps.
Sound Balance: You can adjust the balance of volume one each side of earphones.
Setup Wizard: After turning on your cell phone, you can see the accessibility menu right away on the screen.
Easy Snap: With ‘talk back’ and ‘face detection’ on your settings menu, the Galaxy S III tells you how many faces it can detect on the camera preview.
Multi window, awesome

Surprisingly, I like the stock Touchwiz ui. Replace the launcher with Nova, remove the bloat, and its pretty solid. I'm looking forward to 4.1.2.
lol.. don't get too excited. the split screen feature may be not like you expected. I have a note 10.1 and its split screen feature only supports like 6 apps (all made by Samsung). I like the low light shot tho.

Multi-Screen is the premium suite upgrade feature that I'm most interested in... while I don't really know how much I'd actually use it, it looks cool...

Really wanna see those features on custom ROM. Does this Premium Suite require stock ROM?

The devs here can pull the apks and modify the framework for their ROMs to make it work.
I love the new feature from new Google-Motorola phone "Moto X". The new "Silent Lockscreen Notification" feature is so neat, nice, useful...
I just love it
Unfortunately I am not a developer, so I don't have the skills to port it to our HOX but, wouldn't it be a great feature to have?
Youtube /watch?v=lbGmfk8yaZU, sorry i am not allowed to post external links as a newbie in XDA
The lockscreen feature is presented at 2 minute 30s mark.
:fingers-crossed:
What do you think? Would you like to see this feature in your Custom ROM?
Cheers

Not totally useless, only a bit more power consuming because the whole display would have to be activated instead only of part of it.
But screen would only glow in intervals (you could slow down the interval) when new notification arrives and when you take it out of pocket or flip it downside up with use of proximity sensor.
Bu yes, i agree, our battery is already a bit week.. :/
Seems pretty neat
Porting it to sense is impossible duo to sense framework work.
How ever its possible to port it to aosp if the necessary sources are out....
IMO its useless because its a battery sucker

there is an app called NoLED from the play store that does something somewhat similar. its not the same thing but it does give you a floating notification on the screen and tells you what app its from.
And yeah, LCD screens will use more power and will prevent the phone from properly sleeping. You can tune it to only turn on the screen if you flip it over.
Or you can use Active Notifications,it's verry verry similar to the Moto X:

Only Works on Devices with Android 4.3 for now
Edit. Looks like its experimental on 4.1.2 and 4.2.2. Anyone tried it yet?

Posted without reading the app description. When this app came out it only worked on 4.3 devices but now it works on the One X. Best to use with Low brightness.
Or you can create a Tasker profile that will make your screen pulse every few minutes until you dismiss the notification...

The app use a lot of battery. But it looks great!
With this phone having a very lacking camera app what do you guys use for your photos? I've tried so many different ones and cannot seem to find one I'm truly happy with. Came close with "Better Camera App" but there are some bugs and a weird yellow tint on some pics. Almost had it with "Focal" but feel like I wasted money on the donate version as development on that app is almost non existent. Tried camera zoom but just didn't like it. I'm looking for burst, different scenery, various quick settings at fingertips, quick shutter, etc. Things the stock camera just doesn't have. Any thoughts?

A better camera is really great.
I´m very impressed with Camera FV-5, the best option if you like some control above the preocess o take the shot, is very fast and intuitive if you know what are you doing

Hello all, sadly I'm using 1000 post for this. But my brother just recently got this phone. He is coming from an iPhone so huge difference. One thing we both can't figure out, is how to lock it in landscape. Every time we try, it reverts back to portrait and locks. I couldn't really find much on Google or here. But the one thing I did find, made it seem like you need the xposed g3 tweak box.
So, is it possible to lock the rotation in landscape without root/xposed, or is that the only option?
Thanks guys!
