[Q] Xposed 5x4 Module Gets Reset to Stock 4x4 - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm not a big fan of the wasted space on the Galaxy Note II's HUGE screen. A 4x4 grid is pretty ridiculous. I use the 5x4 stock launcher Xposed module to alleviate that a bit.
But whenever I open a program like Gallery or Line, the 5th row is shifted down so that it overlaps with the Dock icons. Anyone else had this problem? Is it a DPI thing? Has there been an update to that launcher module? You can see what I mean in the attachments below.

I've since discovered that it's not necessarily the app I open, but when the screen rotates to landscape and then back to portrait.
It seems like a DPI thing. I've tried adjusting DPI settings with the Xposed App Settings module, but it doesn't seem to resolve the problem. Has no one else faced this issue? I'd appreciate any setting suggestions or general pointers in the right direction.

Yes, got the same issue on my note 2. Has anyone got any solution? or is there any other way to get more rows on touchwiz?

It's not my work I downloaded it a while ago. Just flash it through recovery

Thanks, sawdoctor! Just a quick question: if I want to restore the sec2launcher.apk, is a Root Explorer zip file sufficient? Any drawbacks to this mod? Is it still compatible with simplistic?

You can just flash back the stock launcher if you want but personally I think nova launcher is the best you can have any layout you want.

I was using this exposed frameworks on my note 2 android 4.1.2 and was working perfectly. But after I upgraded to android 4.3 even though the framework is on it's not working. Does any one have any solution?

Hi I want to share the apps I use to make my Samsung Galaxy 2 look like it has a higher resolution. I tried lcd density but I didn't like it because it messed up a lot of apps. So I downloaded go launcher ex. It has a setting where you can change app icon sizes and grid sizes. So I made the app icons smaller and made it a 5x5 grid so I can fit more apps on the screen. Then I downloaded a font size app and made the font of the phone smaller. I also change the default zoom in the browser to far. I feel like it makes the screen look better than stock and not make me want the galaxy nexus screen so much.

Galaxy note 2 touchwiz launcher in all sizes w/or w/out scrolling wallpaper/rotation

Want to start off by saying I take no credit for this all thanks goes to blgblade in the Galaxy Note II forum go thank him and buy him a beer the original thread will be below where the down load link is.
Choose any size launcher you want with or without scolling wallpaper download it and use file explore of you choice to install the launcher. Then you will need to go to the Google play store and grab ultimate rotation control app. Now this launcher has page buddy and even though the rom I'm running which is Clark's latest doesn't have the page buddy option it did work can't say it will for all.
WARNING INSTALL ANOTHER LAUNCHER FROM THE PLAY STORE IF YOU ONLY HAVE ONE LAUNCHER JUST INCASE YOU MAKE A MISTAKE. MAKE SURE TO CLEAR YOUR DEFAULTS SO THAT YOU HAVE THE OPTION TO CHOOSE MULTIPLE LAUNCHERS.
INSTRUCTIONS: Download the launcher size of your choice open the zip up using your file explorer copy the apk go into system/apps rename your current launcher to SecLauncher2.apkback and then paste the new launcher and set permissions to rw-r-r then reboot and choose the launcher. For the rotation use the ultimate rotation control app and enable per app control and select the launcher and your done. Now as far as page buddy to see if it works go into system/settings/applications clear the data on the launcher plug in some headphones and it should take you directly to what the screen shot below shows.
AVAILABLE HOME AND APP DRAWER SIZES:
•stock/4x4, 4,6, 5x5, 5x6
•Home screen increased to 9
•Mixed size launcher(mixed home screen/app drawer
•Wallpaper scrolling on or off

This has page buddy and a selection of home and app drawer grid sizes I will put the sizes available in the op. Look at the pic in the op that's what page buddy does when you plug in your head phones.
Thanks for this! 4x6

hi OP. i have a question... i just tried add the 5x5 launcher to the new MA4 4.1.2 leak and upon reboot it just stalls at "starting apps" and reboots again...loads up saying "starting apps".....and reboots again....is there any way possible that you might be able to look into why this is happening? i have no knowledge on decompiling apps or anything like that which i feel might be what needs to be done to find out. any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
edit: seems the only way to get it to fully boot is to re-Odin the MA4 tar...
Catch a logcat while it bootloops...that may help

[APP] RAZR M Launcher and Circle Widget

Many of you having been asking me to post some flashable zips of the RAZR M launcher I modded for CSROM.
Well, I finally got off my lazy butt and did it (sorry for the delay!).
The launcher is from a different device (Motorola RAZR M) and different Android version (ICS), so there is a little lag.
But that is a small price to pay for the awesome circle widget!
There are currently two versions available: with and without the persistent search bar.
While I was able to remove the search bar, I have not yet been able to recover the real estate.
Six other apps are installed which are required to make the circle widget fully functional.

I know this may not be possible but I was just wondering is there a way you could possibly combine all the components of the clock widget into one zip file so one could just flash the clock instead of the whole launcher?

[Q] Android 4.4 KitKat Launcher?

Hello,
Has anyone tried the Android 4.4 KitKat Launcher released for Nexus 5 on their Note 8.0?
"To install the new launcher (Google Home), you’ll have to install 3 different apps – Google Play Services 4.0, Google Search, and the Google Home .apk. "
If so, is it working ok? how's the performance with the new launcher?
Thanks for your help :good:
I'm currently using the launcher as my daily driver, and aside from a couple bugs (app drawer seems crowded, and the keyboard pops up randomly upon returning to home), it runs rather well. I'm enjoying this psuedo-Kitkat UI!

Wrong section..sorry..
The launcher runs fine. and looks ok,
I have gotten too used to touchwiz to like anything else,
however, this can also be used as an app i.e hitting back button does not close it.In that way it provides most of its functionality on demand and serves good for hands-free operation when needed, though s-voice did that kinda similar too.
App Drawer does not have any menus or settings so nothing much to write home about there, other than it's obviously different.
I have it set up minimally for reading stuff only (news and books) and here are screen shots.

[Q] LCD density problems.

So I changed my LCD density to 300 using Rom Toolbox Pro and theres a lot of problems. My home screen and app drawer were just made smaller with extra space all around and my dialer is the same. Is there anyway to fix this or can we just not change the density on our notes? Also what is the default value so I can change it back lol. TIA.
Default is 480 - safer editing build.prop. density apps can cause issues and problems.

ROM Toolbox Pro shouldn't cause any problems. I've been using it to change system-wide dpi since the day I got the phone, without issue.
That being said, some of the stock apps just don't play nice with custom dpi. The solution is to change system-wide dpi via the method of your choice, then use App Settings (an xposed module) to manually change problematic apps back to the stock dpi (480). If I remember right, the ones you need to leave at 480 are phone, contacts, calculator, and gallery. I'm not sure about the stock launcher, as I don't use it.
Alternatively, you can use modified versions of those apps that have been made to work with custom dpis, but you'll have to search for those, as I don't have the links handy at the moment.

I would suggest you downloading closed framework. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
And app settings http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2437377
That way you can sweet the DPI of apps independently.

Thanks for the help guys. What I'm trying to do now is use 360 DPI and change the DPI for Themer because it needs the stock DPI but it still isnt turning out right. Themer is just a little off.
