My lock screen is now penning up to the "clock widget" instead of the "personal info" widget. I have nothing else on my luck screens and have selected no widgets.
This just started when I changed the Life Companion to something else. Any ideas on how to only have that screen

Pretty close. In the Lock screen un-check "Multiple widgets". Then select "Lock screen widgets", then "Clock or personal message". Setting to Personal message will then give you the option of editing the personal message screen (or clock settings depending on choice).
I promisr I'm not dumb. Am I just missing something? Here are my settings

Ohhh ok. So the pattern lock screen adds some extra steps.
1) settings -> my device -> lockscreen
2) Change screen lock to 'swipe/no security' (temporary fix)
3) This should unlock the ability to uncheck 'multiple widgets' - uncheck it
4) Go into `lock screen widgets', make sure you're set up properly there
5) Go back, re-enable pattern lock
6) Success?
Perfect! Thank you so much! Thank you thank you

Maybe I'm thinking of a cyanogen mod feature here, but wasn't there a way to delay the lock screen from engaging for a set amount of time when you manually turn off the screen in gingerbread? Its very handy.
The "automatic lock" in security settings doesn't seem to apply if you manually turn off the screen.
Anyone else missing this feature or am I missing something obvious ? Thanks

I think he means delaying the security screen. And pretty sure that's just in cyanogen mod
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
For clarity what I mean is when you turn off the screen manually and then turn it back on a few seconds later it requires the unlock code. It can be delayed with a setting so that the unlock isn't required if the screen has only been off for less than x time, and from the sounds of it, its a cyanogen setting. No big deal, thanks.

Edit: never mind, I went back and read the op. Lol
You can set it for up to 30 minutes but, the screen has to time out by itself. I have mine set for 1 minute for the screen timeout and 30 minutes on the lock delay.

Hey guys,
Can help to check this out? If you leave your phone after 1min of inactivity to sleep, and you power on the phone, you won't hit the lockscreen. Instead, you will go to the last used application that you are at previously.
Can help check this out, 4.0.4 stock rom user here.
Thanks in advance.

He's saying if you let the screen "time out" there's no lock screen, but if you turn off the screen with the PWR button, there is a lock screen.
Okay, little bit of a bug. I noticed this earlier too. Think of this scenario to recreate the problem:
1) Under "Security", set up a pattern lock. It will let you select a time to "Automatically lock". Set it to "1 minute after sleep".

"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2) Go back to a "Slide" unlock style. You'll notice the "Automatically lock" and "Power button instantly locks" options disappear.
3) Let the screen time out, you won't get a lock screen unless you power the screen off with the actual PWR button.
It seems that even though the "Automatically lock" option is only visible when using a security PIN or Pattern, the setting you select while in that mode persists after you've gone back to the "Slide" method.
Definitely a bug, but easily remedied. Switch to a Pattern lock and change the setting back:
Hope that helped.
Thanks! It helps!
No credit, just found these on the note forum, and thought they were amazing so I'm sharing them here!
Light Manager (Control the LED Notification, simple, easy on the battery. Will upload a picture with the color settings I use as the defaults are not set for our phones.)
Pop-up Browser Invoker - Toss this in your Multiscreen bar, and you can always pop a mini browser up!
[ROOT] BEST APP EVER! I was looking for a way to add a simple Home gesture to the built in commands that the S-Pen has. (Hold button, draw arrow or line) This app will let you set up much better gesture support!
GMD S-Pen Control
Added picture of settings for light manager. Well tried to but the app won't let me. Will try posting a new comment with the pic.
Yeah, I used lightmanager for a couple minutes and was happy that it appears to be our note2 friendly version of lightflow. However that notification in the status bar is way over the rop. Have you found a way to get rid of it?

Hey, first check that that the colors are actually different. Mine has almost exactly the same color as SMS. If it's just not going off at all then please direct your question to the th re ead linked in the OP. I just found these apps, I'm not the dev hehe.

Hi,
I use the standard alarm on my Galaxy S3 to wake me up in the morning.
When it goes off I usually just press a button on the side to turn it off. Since a few days, after I've done this there is a notification in the top bar, and a message when I swipe it down. (see screenshot below ) The message reads (mine is in Dutch): "Alarm - You can stop alarms or put them in hiberna.." where I suppose the rest would be "...te by going into settings.." or something.
The annoying thing is this message is a permanent notification and it isn't possible to swipe the message away or I haven't found a way to turn it off. The only way is to reboot the device. Not too much trouble, but kinda trivial to have to do this every day just to get rid of a notification
The phone just recently started doing this, so I'm guessing it came in with a recent update or something.
Any help would be appreciated!
Dries

Thank you for the reply!
It won't let me uncheck the box, but you did gave me a way to get rid of the notification; as I can "force close" the app. I then have to remember to start it back up, otherwise I won't wake up on time the next day
If there's any more help, I'd be glad to hear it!
I honestly think the best solution is to find a better app. I'd recommend Alarm Clock Plus. There's a free version you can try.

I just installed it. Thanks for the help!
I've never seen this one before.
I would clear data for it and see if it continues, but it looks like you installed another alarm app. I personally am using Timely now. I like the compatibility between TW and AOSP ROMs, the syncing feature, etc.
I would freeze the stock clock app if you're not using it anymore. Wakelocks you don't need.
Hey guys I've made the jump from the s4 to the g3 and gotta say so far I'm loving it's an awesome device, one thing that I miss from the s4 though is the lock screen turning on every time I got a text message, is their anyway to do this with with the g3? while I'm at work I turn the phone notification sound to silent so I'm not constantly hearing it go off instead I would just look over and see the screen go on, if I could get that working on my g3 then it would be perfect thanks for any help
I use the app Nils Lock Screen Notifications ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roymam.android.notificationswidget) to get lock screen notifications and to turn my screen on when a notification is received (so long as the phone isn't covered).

Confused
Hello, I recently purchased the G3 as well except I am having the opposite problem as you. Out of the box my phone does turn on the screen when i receive a text message and I wish to disable this but cannot find an option to do so. You say yours wasn't doing this at all out of the box? I feel as though i have poured through every settings option and can't disable this.
Have you tried messing with these settings?
