Hey guys I thought it would be interesting to start a poll to find out what are the android versions that people are using on our 2+years old HTC Desire.

Most are using Gingerbread. Some are on ICS. Any user who is still on Froyo at this point probably doesn't have any idea about rooting and or XDA or just wanna be left alone in the past.
No need for a poll or a thread really.

I'm using ICS from DK_Zero-Cool (v3.3u1). Most stable one i've experienced until now
MIUI XJ since New year, probably will try with some Sense ROM soon
I'm still using CM7.2 RC1. Very stable and fast.
Could anyone explain to me why everybody is so hyped about ICS? I mean I appreciate what the devs of ICS ROMs do and it's great that they make ICS possible on our old Desires.
I tried Sandvold's ROM and BCM. They're quite good and making good progess, but I always came back to CM7.
I actually don't see a point in switching to ICS (yet) unless you like flashing and testing new ROMs, because CyanogenMod 7 and other 2.3 ROMs seem more stable and faster and they have all the features ICS offers.
Is it the looks of ICS or just that it's new and you want to test it?
I'll probably switch over eventually, but at the moment I'm just curious what you like about ICS.
Hey, guys! At first, I want to say that I am Xperia arc S developer and getting HOX tomorrow. Of course I won't use stock, so I'm asking you about good ROM which is worth recommendation. I was thinking about Android Revolution HD. It has Sense, I like Sense :3 Is CM10 good? Or maybe AOKP JB? I like AOKP more than CM, but please... Give me some suggestions. I want my ROM to be awesomely fast and light. And, I think stock based - Sense camera gives amazing quality, AOSP one kills it.

I liked the Rennovate Rom a lot when i was on ICS. Sense and very fast, very clean, very stable. Maybe the colors where a bit too blue, but i was the fastest ICS Sense rom i've tried.

another vote for ARHD : a smooth, fast Rom. close to stock sense, but with some nice tweaks. :thumbup:

Hy I am using CM10 and it is fast and smooth but battery destroyer, I have battery case so battery terms it is bad but if you want the pure android experience it is a ROM for you. ARHD is on my list to try but I know that LeeDroid is a nice ROM for ours dear HOX. Play with them, I did and it is getting addictive. Give me a thanks if it helped Sorry for my bad English

Unfortunately LeeDroid is very outdated as Lee is taking a break with his busy life Jan487 is also leaving XDA to focus more on IRL, but his teammates should be continuing development on ViperX.
I really like Sense so mike1986 ARHD is my primary choice. Since Mike decided to go to the latest leaked ROM on Jelly Bean which is not for all the CIDs, I moved to Lextermina AbsterGo™ and I love this ROM
ARHD 11 is a way to go. All in the mix - JB, sense UI, some tweaks. Real fast and smooth.

OrDroidX is the way... However as you can see... These questions are very useless cause everyone post an idea that is different to the others... So the best way you can see which is the best rom is to try them all...

Exactly. I also have not suitable CID so we both have to wait for official JB with hboot update. I will try Lextermina later. Now I am on Renovate and it is great.

I use and recommend ParanoidAndroid (with Bricked kernel), love that ROM, fast, stable, great battery life and customization options..
Per app dpi settings is just plain awesome..
I have looked all over the desire forum and found not 1 sense 3.6 with ICS rom for our device. I think people are interested but i need to know facts do you want this rom ????
If i get enough people saying yes ill start a thread and port official ICS with sense 3.6 from desire s to our device.
i normally only dev for my own desire but when its stable ill release to xda user's. This will give us stable ICS but keeping the sense as we all love it to some degree. Let me know your thoughts on this by posting below or answering the poll thanks everyone.

cool ill get to work on it but obviously i wont release or open a thread untill its in alpha stage and it boots up and works call's/sms data ect. but this can be worked on more easy because sense 4 is very heavy on the cpu but sense 3.6 is not so it will be alot smoother than the sense 4 roms.

I couldn't agree more im already working on it as we speak i want to get this as stable and smooth as i possibly can.

I think we are all interested in a ROM like these, I think Sense is one of the best (launcher ?!) in the android market. It has to be stable and at least moderately fast, otherwise it will be doomed to extinction.

From the performance point of view it's a bad idea. ICS is not stable enough.Contribution to 3.x kernel or features fixes, camera fixes would bring much more.
Hi, i'm using the new version of miui 4.1.2 but the problem is that i have issues with that version, lot of app don't work, games are slow, i can't search in internet 'cause it's slow too... So I want to change for another rom but I don't know which one is good, i'm searching for a rom with jellybean which could be fast and not use a lot of my RAM not like miui.

Slim bean with last hellboy kernel. Very smooth and speed. For internet, with xScope Pro, work very fast.
My english is also not very good for the same reason.

I'm running mine on ckpv5 myONEv RC9.0 FX+ on top of Maxwen's latest Titanium Kiss kernel.
It may only be 4.0.4 but without a lot of the bloat that comes 'standard' on the One V factory builds, so it does run a lot better.
But there are some, quirks...
Call Volume, at lowest is the loudest, click up one spot, and it's right.
Edit: Just being blind, found the switch for vibration on keypress.
Those are the only glitches, I've found so far, and I've been running it for two weeks, really making sure I put it through it's paces.
Hey guys I know everyone hates these threads but I need your help, my brother has a one v and hates how slow the stock rom is, so I put the kangbang rom on it and he like the app speed, but many apps crash and cause the phone to reboot. Are there any stable completely working aosp roms? I do think care if it's ICS or 4.2 I just need one that works perfectly

Cm9 Is perfect. Cm10 is very good. Pa 2.99 is very good. And if sense is ok, rc9.5 is perfect too.

CodeFireX ROM is pretty good, you wont have to downgrade the radio's either if he did an OTA update, CM9 and 10 are pretty good also. I havent had a chance to try AOSP yet
myONEv RC9.5 FX+ (Sense 4.1 Lite) is good for sense users
SlimBean is the most stable I have found, yet to have any issues with it and the latest maxwen Kernel
