I was updating to latest version of cyanogenmod through OTA and after that my phones battery just died I mean it showed 1 percent and even though I charged it, it still was running off the battery and no matter how long I charged it it just didn't boot up
I can load download mode\ recovery but I installed through odin a stock rom and still it boots up and says I have no battery and turns off even if it connected to the original samsung charger, and I can't just turn it on like with the power button I need to load recovery and then reboot.
please help me i'm really frustrated

Do you think that a battery can die just like that with no reason?
I think its a software problem and not a technical one.
does anyone have another solution?
You have good reasons to believe it's a software thing, yet you also don't.
Focus on what you are able to do at the moment.
Since your phone is just a brick now, no matter what your suspicions are, you need to test it with another battery and eliminate possibilities.
Either the rom you flashed bricked your phone, or the battery just decided to call it a life. Either way, you need a battery to test whether it did actually die, or to determine whether it's a true software issue.

Yup it could happen(at least to me). My battery can last 10hours then suddenly when I woke up in a morning my phone dead. Use charger while power on only last to samsung screen. Thought it's a softbrick so tried to reflash but not working. Luckily I have a friend with the same phone so borrow his battery
so I checked with my friends battery and it still seem to have the same problem.
so does anyone have another solution maybe?

Have you tried to clear Data/Cache? AFAIK Odin does not clear them. You can try to reset all partitions with Odin using PIT file and then without rebooting flash stock rom. Hope that helps.

You selected a pit file and checked re-partition on the left side?
Thank you all.
After all the battery was the issue.
Can you guys recommend a good ebay seller for OEM battery's?

Okay I guess I'll be the first to post.
About an hour ago my phone shut off at 26% battery (16gb galaxy S3 running CM10.1 nightly 01/16). As I went to turn it back on it will boot into the CM splash screen spin a few times and just shut off. I attempted to charge it, and turn it back on but same thing. After that an attempt to get into CWM, which I was able to get in and it shut off while I was in it. I also tried putting the phone in download mode and about the same time frame it took for the other attempts resulted in a shut down.
Any advice? Or am I stuck doing a warranty exchange?

Sounds like its your battery not a hardware problem. Leave it overnight or a couple hours charging and if it indeed boots up its your battery.
If it doesn't then flash stock and test it if the same result then call up that Warranty. I've seen this same issue with other devices where the battery dies at 50%+ and usually replacing the battery fixes the problem. Test your battery for overheating or swollen.

The battery isnt swollen, thats one of the things I checked also. I thought it might be that, the only other option I have is to try a different battery. The good thing is I work in a tmobile store so im gonna give that a shot tomorrow.

Can you start it without battery connected to the wall charger? If so try wipe cache. Or after reflash ROM.

Even better then lol just test it out at work. I'm about 80% its your battery specially if you OV/UC.
I have the t-mobile US t999.
Last night I was having an odd issue with the networking dropping. I've had the phone for about a month, modded since day 1 with a CM10 variation of a rom (sorry, I forget the exact rom). I had no issues whatsoever up until this point. After a few restarts thinking maybe it was a fluke issue with the network, or network signal in my room, the phone forced itself into emergency call mode only. I couldn't get it to come out.
So I decided I was going to odin on a stock rom as I could get it into download mode, that went through successfully. When the phone boots, I get the android taking off (Tmobile 4g) logo. Then the white samsung logo, and it doesn't go beyond this. I know this can take long so I left it there for about an hour, nothing. The phone also displays a blue led the entire time it's hanging as well.
Also worth noting, when I attempt to boot into recovery it just vibrates over and over.
Not sure what my next steps should be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

after you odin, you need to wipe data/ factory reset to boot. If you can't get into recovery ( Power, Home Button, and Volume Up), then try reflashing your stock image in Odin and check your MD5 sum, so you can rule out a bad download
Thanks for the reply, I'm re-downloading the stock rom now to verify it's integrity and do a new flash. I cannot get into recovery, so we will see after the new flash. Pleading ignorance on one subject, how would I go about checking the MD5 sum to verify the file has no issues?
Additionally I did try to Odin recovery and still could not boot into it, this was however before attempting to re-download and flash a stock rom again.
**Edit//Update** Re-downloaded and flashed stock rom, was able to get into recovery and wipe, booted up fine.
Wow.. great idea for a thread and THANK YOU!!
Perfect timing too cause i need a little help please.
I am not new to android but new to samsung (WOW, didnt realize it would be so different from HTC ont he rooting and flashing side of things).
Long story short. I have a tmo s3. Bought it today and wanted to root. phone was working perfectly as it shoudl on stock rom unrooted. I downloaded the tool kit v7, used that to root adn install TWRP and rebooted into the stock rom that is now rooted. Still everything working perfect.
Here is what i did next and where the issues start.
Downloaded Synergy r290, went to recovery.
Wiped Cache, Dalvik, Data, and System (made a backup first)
flashed the rom and rebooted to system
However, nothing ever happened. I see the samsung logo, then all goes black and nothing happens (left it there for 10min)
I cant seem to get back into recovery holding vol up, home and power either and have no adb access to use that. I AM able to get into download mode which i know i can fix my problem here with odin, but i am just not sure what to flash and where.
Is there an easier way??
Thanks in advance for any help!

If you absolutely can't get into recovery to restore your backup..
Flash the UVDLJA root66 file in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1949687 via odin. You will have the latest UVDLJA JB update, and will be rooted. From there, install goo manager from the play store to flash TWRP.
After that you're all set to flash whatever you want (just make sure it's for the Tmobile s3).

Just upload the file to PDA and hit start. Make sure to let it finish completely, once the phone reboots, it's done.

Weird problem. When I set kernel frequencies on my phone, they at some point get locked at the maximum frequency. This has happened every time I flash a new ROM or kernel, and I'm worried that it will soon start to affect the battery. I'm using the msmdvcs governor on both kernels that I've tried (stock and faux)

Somehow i Think my /boot partition has become corrupted. Yesterday i was switching batteries to put in an externally charged secondary battery and when i rebooted i couldnt even get to the samsung splash screen.SO i switched back thinking maybe the battery had gone bad but it gave the same error after the phone was just working phone. No matter how long it charges its like i have nothing to boot too so it stays on the battery screen rather im charging the phone or not. I can enter recovery mode and download mode. Ive factory reset from recovery, Ive reflashed stock from odin and still no luck. Ive been searching for answers all morning and night with no luck. People have reported the same exact problem with no answer as of yet.
i found a thread for the NOTE 1 discussing a similiar problem where the solution was flashing a custom PIT and sacrificing 2gb of internal storage to get the phones back , im willing to do that i just need some help as im leaving for basic training tuesday and i dont want to leave without a phone.
has anyone had this grey battery screen problems and found a solution?

I think the thread you found was in relation to the emmc brickbug. I think your soulution is similar to that one though. When you odin'd it did you use a pit? If not then you should try that first.

You can find PIT file for i317 at&t here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2609871
Right now, Zen has removed files and still doing some more testing but soon he will re-upload them.
I found my phone dead this morning and tried plugging it in. The screen reacted by showing a loading battery logo that seems to have froze. I booted into recovery and tried to factory reset but it shows that nothing is mounted. When trying to boot out of recovery it doesn't get past the galaxy note II screen. I've attached a picture of each screen I mentioned.
Prior to this, I was experiencing root issues. Titanium backup reported that I has a outdated binary I believe. I tried updating through super user but I would get an error. My phone has also been experiencing terrible battery life which I assumed was a kernel or rom issue, though it's clear that it wasn't. Regardless, I was running the beanstalk rom if anyone wanted to know.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Have you tried using a different battery? Is the battery a samsung stock battery? Is the battery physically flat or is it swollen? Have you done a battery pull and then attempted to boot the phone? If you have a external charger, fully charge the battery (unless the battery is swollen or damaged).
You might also boot into recovery and try charging from there. Recovery has it's own kernel and it is not altered much from what I can tell. I use twrp and it shows when the battery is charging. I'd use twrp 2.6.3.x as it is proven while 2.7.0.0 is freshly released.
Can you boot into recovery and pull a Nandroid? If so, do so. If recovery is stable (and you have adequate battery charge) try to flash a T889 TW rom and see if a stock kernel and firmware will allow the battery to charge.
Hastily spouted for your befuddlement

I'm here to report that my phone is most likely bricked. I tried installing different roms and kernels through my external sd card but none of them would boot. Out of pure stupidity, I flashed a different recovery on my phone and from there I probably killed all chances of saving my phone. It is now unable to boot into recovery and unable to be recognized by ODIN.
Any further suggestions are again appreciated.

If you get ODIN working then the device can be recovered by flashing back to stock.
1) Did ODIN work for your device before this issue ?
2) Did you already try updating drivers, different cable etc etc.
How about Heimdall, check if it recognizes your phone.

I have used the Jedi Rom but I was using the beanstalk rom. The symptoms sound a lot like sudden death syndrome but my phone was sent in and fixed for that.
To be exact about Odin and Heimdall does recognize my phone but trying to install anything will give u this error : "device not accessible."

Hello!
I got a Galaxy Note 2 second hand and there is something wanky going around.
So the current status of the phone:
The phone will not go into twrp or odin mode without the charger in. However, I check the battery voltage and it was at full charge, 3.4v? ish?
When just pressed power button alone, it goes into a bootloop. So far, it glitches into the galaxy note 2 logo then back to battery with screen. Or other times, it goes into bootloop with only battery screen then on and black screen, which this further repeats.
There are no partitions mounted when observed inside twrp. 0mb so I am assuming that the previous owner tried to flash a custom rom and may have failed at or something.
So my current conclusion of the phone after researching and experimenting with a little knowledge about anything:
The phone has its partition table messed up (ugghghghgh) and there is no platform for the OS or Android to be flashed on to when I was trying to using odin for couple past days.
Any ideas? Anyone have a PIT file that I can test this with? I got some pit file online that I assume that is for Sprint Galaxy Note 2, but re-partitioning with that PIT doesn't seem to do anything.
Any ideas how to approach this?
P.S. it also says that it can't mount /data. Assuming because it doesn't have any partition within the phone itself but could there be any different reason?

Ok, update. When I do wipe/factory reset, Galaxy Note 2 turns off in the process. I'm now speculating that it is the battery at fault so I ordered a replacement for it. I hope this solves the problem and I will update when I get the battery.

AYYYYYYY!!! I just hotwired a spare Galaxy S4 batter to my Galaxy Note 2 and it works! It boots up into factory mode, , but I think I will figure out how to fix that on my own! Thank you for the PIT file you have provided me! Thanks a bunch! I concluded that it was the battery that didn't hold the charge thus the phone wasn't able to cycle into the boot sequence!

Hi would you be a le to provide the pit file ? Im in the same boat with my note 2.
Thanks
i too would like to request this pit file please...
Was running latest renegade rom and SkyHigh kernel. I woke up sunday morning after my phone having been on the charger, and it only showed 14% charge and powered off. Not needing my phone right away, I had assumed maybe the charger wasn't making the best connection and replugged and let it charge fully. Later, when it was fully charged, I took it off the charger and powered it up to an endless bootloop. Smart Switch and Kies says my device isn't supported.
I have tried reflashing in TWRP to no avail. I tried to ODIN a stock rom to the same results. It gets so far into the restore/install and the phone just reboots to recovery. It seems to me I have a partition gone bad maybe?? I have no idea what else to try here. Please help!!

Check IMEI/MEID in Download Mode, it gives you the option there to see serial/imei/meid, if its all 0's, likely your EFS was damaged or deleted and i would say this is likely the cause of the bootlooping. Had this happen to my personal device, Sprint some how fixed it, but flashing stock firmware via odin etc, didnt fix it for me. Good luck!
I don't see any options in download mode. Just says downloading..
U need to flash a stock kernal using odin then flash stock firmware with odin again ... It will 100% work hit thanks it helps

If you have a bad partition, flashing the PIT file would mark bad blocks in the bootloader. So it won't try to write to them. All links are in the General section in a nice very organized thread.

Yeah, I've tried flashing the pit a little while ago and it does the same thing.. Odin shows successful, but when it installs on the device, it only gets so far, then says deleting (or erasing) and reboots.. I believe Anderd hit the nail on the head, as download mode shows zeros in for imei.. guess I'll be making a call tomorrow and playing around with CDMA workshop.. Not sure what else to do since it's a boost phone and you can't even get a simple card at a boost shop.. Don't really want to send it in..

It seems like a hardware fault then. If it can't flash the PIT file, which doesn't even flash anything, just re-arranges blocks, then there's something hardware related. Especially if you get 0 for IMEI. That's usually a tell tale sign of time for a new device. Lol. They aren't too expensive anymore on Swappa.com. Got mine from there.
You can try flashing this kernel first via odin then flash stock rom
copy paste this in web address

if this still doesnt work u can downgrade to 5.11 but flash the stock kernel first via odin
click n download
http://wikisend.com/download/497232/UniKernel_v8-0001-BOH1-920P-091215.tar
and then downgrade firmware, download from below

if still stuck in boot loop let the phone drain to 0% in odin mode it would be turned off plug in charger charge it 10% without turning on the device and after the charge 10% reached turn on ur phone let the bootloader load i really dont think u should have any issue now...
