When the f*ck did we get ice cream??

Now its back to 1 Gb free ram, it does consume more ram than my previous s3, but hell, its all worth it anyway! Loving my gpro already !!

It's because of all the call running. Once we get custom roms you'll be so happy for how much you will have.

From that screen go to Settings -> Stop Services and put check marks on the one you want to be closed when you leave the app. Mine stays at around 1.1GB-1.3GB free. I also have a shortcut to the Ram Manager on the Home Screen and I clear the Ram after using a heavy app or jumped from one to another, and then a third. ... multiple times so I don't go back to exit each.

Oh wait nvm, I realize that it is actually have more free rams than my previous S3 LOL

Never mind I stopped service on all the things I don't want running the reboot and voila is hanging around 1.04 GB during general use. When I refresh my RAM it jumps to 1.12 GB Nice!
When the f*ck did we get ice cream??

I have almost everything checked on that list but Internet, K9Mail,Tasks,Sms Backup&Restore and Software Update.
Also in Settings-> Apps->All apps I have many Disabled (clear memory, uncheck Notifications, Disable)
Or if doesn't allow me to disable- just clear memory and uncheck notifications.
My phone is not rooted...

Freeze all the AT&T bloat with titanium. Then reboot. That combined with stopping services = 1+ GB.

Android OS killing my battery

I was just wondering what this might be. My battery is at 64% with only 48 minutes screen time on. All my apps were closed most the day. Is there a fix to this without root? Any suggestions that might help. Thanks

Hold down home button / task magager/ clear all app
Task manager / ram / clear memory.
Application manager / force stop all the app you not use
Oh okay. I guess the only thing i wasn't doing was clearing the ram. Hopefully that'll do the trick. Thanks

I would make sure that none of your apps are set to auto update. Other than that you can use a third party app like traffic monitor to see what is using your data.

I'm getting them five or six times a night, my wife is worried I'm on my phone at all hours of the night from the bill. I would really like to find the source of the media/data and put a stop to it.
How do I make sure my apps don't auto update? (Sorry, I'm new to Android, so be patient)

Open Google Play, select your menu button, select "my apps" and then check they are not set to auto update. You should also check settings and make sure auto update is not set as default.

Go into settings>data usage and it should tell you exactly what is using data and how much.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
What does the data usage on the phone say?
Settings > Data Usage
That should tell you what app is using the data. It could be a whole bunch of things.
MobileAP widget was quite the culprit for unexpected data use on gingerbread.

Did that before I went to sleep. Also here is a sample of the ones using data through the night. I'm on wifi all night but whatever is doing this uses actual phone data.

This is not a Note 2 problem but an ATT problem. My mother had the exact same problem on a much simpler phone that didn't even have a data plan attached to it. I looked at her bill online and there were countless small data exchanges over a short period of time. I spoke to ATT and told them she doesn't even have a data plan and her phone is not one to use data. I had to forcibly block Internet data from exchanging back and forth on the account level. Obviously you can't use that as a solution. Don't let them tell you it's your device because chances are it's not.

Xda app with less CPU usage?

Is there a way I can rollback to the previous xda update ? On my sgs3 this app starts to take up plenty of cpu and ram to the point it lags when scrolling and eventually force closes. Almost 3-4 times daily when browsing. I am not trying to ask for warez , although I am on the free version.

Thanks but what I was asking was the previous version of xda. It seemed to use less CPU and would not lag as much. I'll be browisjng one forum for a while before it starts to lag , slow down , then just freezes and force closes.

Ram always at 1.12 gb!!

Usually my ram is at 500-600mb at normal usage but now after I installed antutu benchmark test from play store it keeps increasing to .9gb to 1.12gb with no usuage at all I clear ram leave it then check it out after hour or so the ram fills up and draining the battery with 10% drained I restarted the phone same thing even with uninstalling the app it is really annoying draining the battery like that and having ram at this level what do u think I should do or what is causing it.
Thanks

It will remain always like that. you need not to do anything, android itself having LMK(low memory killing) and will make free whenever it needs.
So keep as it is, It's good for health.
PS : Though you want to keep free, use option limit background process in developer option in setting, don't know ultimately how much it will improve battery, but surely it will take time to open application.
Don't worry too much about RAM usage, and don't use task killers. Unlike with Windows or your usual linux distribution, android has control on which app stays in memory and which one is killed. And it is pretty good at managing this without user intervention.
As for battery life, I recommend BetterBatteryStats if you whant to know what is draining it. But by personal experience, I think you should look at apps that use background data connection, like Facebook.
Mine always sits around 1.55 - 1.65ghz lol
Edit: I just realised I wrote GHz instead of GB. *facepalm* fail on my behalf lol

I did a factory reset and same problem still exist ram at 0.95gb - 1.12gb why. When I usually do factory reset it settles at 500-600mb now with no apps it is high as mentioned above.

Does anything not work as you think it should? Or is this just a matter of numbers? Any performance issues?
See what I'm getting at?

The problem it wasn't like that and now the issue is the battery drainage with this high ram even after a factory reset.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
The battery drainage is much more likely from you constantly trying to kill all those apps, since they then have to restart again. If your phone is not slow, just don't worry about it.

Install an apo called ram booster. Works gr8

saw 2 files you removed that I'm just giving an experienced warning on for others...if you remove the voicemail, you will not receive any notifications if you get voice messages, again I know from experience
not gonna double quote the other pic I saw but the google text to speech file, another 1 that if you ever use your phone on the road for gps, you will not get turn by turn voice directions...yes I've done this and experienced the loss of turn by turn voice
other than that, nice listings and compilation for users

Thank you for the for letting them know that , voicemail for me if I miss a call I just hit and hold 1 and takes you to the old style voicemail
And I dont use voice stuff at all for my phone kinda pointless to me when you have google on mobile web...lol...
Tell you what man deleting all this is amazing how much battery I have gained and how much smoother the phone and performance is
If you and any of you have anymore pointers for the apps being deleted please feel free to share
This list is the list I personally deleted because I never have or never will I use
hey man no problem, I'm like you, I rip all that crap out!! lol even the custom roms, but sometimes when I miss calls at work, I don't bother just dialing the voicemail and next thing you know, I get the message over a week late lol gotta love the space it all frees up too and speeding up the phone and saving battery life for sure
again good posting up of the pics for people to actually see and follow along
