Hi guys, I was just wondering if anyone is working on, or has gotten the TouchWiz camera working on the Google Edition rom. This is the single feature of TouchWiz that I actually like and frequently use, and if it is possible to get it ported to the Google Edition, I will be flashing! This is the only feature keeping me from moving to the Google Edition at this time.
I have seen that the HTC One already has the Sense camera ported to the Google Edition (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2351965), and I have read that the Google Edition S4 is running a stripped down TouchWiz kernel, so I am hoping this will be in the real of possibilities.

Just do a forum Search for Touchwiz Camera. It's been addressed many times.
No, it does not work yet.

If I had found something in my prior searches of the forum I wouldn't have asked the question. I am not a newb here... *smh*
Anyways, after a few hours worth of searching, I did find someone working on porting the camera. For those who are interested here is the post (it was obscured because it want not posted in this forum):

hey Louer Adun, was a bit curious about the difference in image size/quality of both Touchwiz and Google Edition Galaxy S4.if the cameras resolution is on max, is the image size under 1MB(with ur new touchwizz camera or even the old google edition)? because i have a galaxy s4 touchwiz and when i downloaded the google edition camera apk i saw a big difference in image quality and size. Took 2 identical images at the highest resolution, the touchwizz's image size was >2MB and the image out of the google edition app(which includes photosphere) is 600KB. the reason i downloaded the Google Edition camera app which comes with the gallery too, is only for Photosphere. since my camera stayed exactly the same after the 4.3 update.

So by now we all know that Jelly Bean 4.2 has been released and has already been pushed to a lot of Galaxy Nexus devices around the globe. Myself, like many others, have a Galaxy Nexus on the Verizon network. I'm just as eager as anyone to get the 4.2 update but I do realize it's going to be a while before Verizon officially has the 4.2 update for us. What are my options as of now and the near future? Are there any ROMs I can use with the Verizon network and run 4.2? I'm currently running 4.1.1 JRO03O, so would I have to find a way to update to 4.1.2 before I could update to 4.2? Also, if I am able to find a ROM that will get me to 4.2, what features do I have to worry about losing? Many features of my phone I hold close, so I'd like full disclosure on which features could be compromised. I really appreciate your time for helping me!
Also, please be as detailed as possible with your responses - I imagine there are many others that view the forums like myself, looking for the answers to these questions without having to read through multiple 100+ page threads, finding answers bit by bit. A lot of people are running stock JB 4.1.1 on VZW network like myself and could benefit from these answers. Thanks so much guys!
go check the verizon dev forum. thats your best bet.

You could just flash the 4.1.2 Takju firmware then wait a couple of hours and recieve it, thats what I did and I recieved it within 2 hours if you are really impatient.

I appreciate the simplicity if your answers, but I've been in the Verizon dev forum for a while now. I continue to read through thread after thread, but I want definitive answers. Please link me to the threads in the Verizon dev forum of ROMs that would work for me please. I created this thread so that others who were in the same situation as me could find the answers they need quickly, without having to browse through the verizon dev forum for hours and still feel unsure about flashing a rom. Again, if you don't mind, just link me to some of the threads you feel are important in relation to my situation. I'm more than happy to read through the thread, every single page. I just want to have a little assurance in the ROM I'm loading onto my Nexus. I need to make sure I don't need to run a 4.1.2 ROM first or if I can go straight from 4.1.1 to 4.2. etc etc Thanks guys

so you want to be spoonfed because you cannot read the title of the threads?
if you're replacing the system (which you are if you're flashing a rom) it doesnt matter what version you were on.
there are a couple 4.2 ROMs out already. they are all a little finnicky. my suggestion is to wait a couple days for the bugs to be worked out. as far as i know, some of the things not working last i checked was.
google location, go Google Now isn't working
photosphere was crashing in the gallery (although i was able to use it just now)
swype typing was not working (i have a 4.2 transformation package that i flashed and got it working)
overall, it is pretty stable with very few issues.
as for features missing from what you currently have or want, i dont know. its just Stock android 4.2 for right now.
lock screen widgets
photosphere
quick settings
new clock app
new Google apps (calendar, gmail with pinch to zoom ect)
its all there.
Flash CM10, it has a built in update checker so you will be good to go when they drop a 4.2 nightly.
Thanks for all the information! I guess I'll wait a week or so and see which ROM is out at that point and has the best reviews for stability and functionality. And yes, I can read the thread titles... but when you click on thread after thread and they were all started MONTHS ago, they aren't much help for an update that came out days ago. And also, none of the thread titles say anything about 4.2... sure, they say JB, but JB is 4.1.1, 4.1.2 and 4.2 so that doesn't help much either. That's why I asked. Also because in the VZW development forum it says DONT ASK QUESTIONS so... where else would I go? Isn't that the point of a Q&A forum? To answer questions and not go around being a smart ** to people just looking for help? Like seriously?

That is IF you want CM and the potential bugs that come with nightly builds.
does anyone know that status of Miracast on the Galaxy Nexus?
EDIT: oops, sorry for the bad engrish in the subject
I've been struggling with this for awhile. CM11 and every AOSP ROM I use on S4 causes a bad echo while using a bluetooth ear piece for anyone on the other end. TW roms like hyperdrive work fine as long as I disable noise reduction/suppression. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this? I really would rather use a bare bones or slightly modified AOSP ROM then the bloated samsung hackup ROMs.
Questions dont go in this forum bud. Q&A section for questions.

Nope, same problem. Echo is still there. It could be built in noise suppression doing it. If I could figure out how to disable that (its not a menu item like in other ROMs) then maybe it would work. back to hyperdrive for now.

Hi guys.
I very love gpe based roms for Htc M8 but.... the only reason for me to come back to sense is the camera. I don't think that google camera is so good. Contrast and lights ar very better on htc camera.
So, if you use gpe or cm based roms, what 3rd part camera app do u use?
I'm trying to find the better one. I think that FV-5 is not bad but too settings... I think that a camera app on the phone must be very simply to use and fast too.
Still waiting for your opinion about that.

Q&A for [ROM] Sac23 Ported Echoe Rom Full S6 Sprintified
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [ROM] Sac23 Ported Echoe Rom Full S6 Sprintified. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
can i use it on my n910p but i am in asia region
I mean this room need to update prl and profile but i not using sprint already unlocked this phone and i use other carier
Love the rom so far but here are a few observations, Can't edit apps in Toolbox when dragging it to "Edit" - right and left capacitive buttons not lighting up at all - I know we don't have an "Edge" but all of the settings are there, will this be implemented in the future? Thanks for the great work so far, I'm keeping my eye on this one.
Only Facebook notifications come thru on my Gear S. It's very weird.
Can someone tell me what baseband this runs? I'm on bob7 alliance and what to know if this runs a newer base. All help is appreciated.
Do the SPen features work on this Port? Lots of people are running this Rom but I can't seem to get an answer.

Don't tell me what to do , This is the Q & A thread - I'm tired of people getting bunched up over eta's - I can understand not asking in the dev thread but it is what it is. And if you'd go back and read, I didn't ask WHEN (Estimated Time of Arrival) - I asked if there was an update as to features the Rom is missing.
Where do i find mobile hotspot in v2?

I think he just read it wrong.
I am having some random and extreme lag issues. Is this isolated? I have done 4 clean installs and it all results the same way
Is there perhaps another kernel I could use?.
Does anyone from the group of people that released this port actually read this Q & A thread? It seems like people are asking questions, including myself, and not getting answers or even an "We're working on it" - Not trying to be *****y but that's what this thread is for correct? Keep up the great work on the Rom - I look forward to seeing where this goes - Thanks

I've been looking for camera mod for G920P 5.1.1 can someone point me in the right direction and by camera mod i mean longer 4k video with higher bit rate for 4k and 1080p.
I'm on 5.1.1 rooted OJ7
This is the only camera mod that I know of, I have no idea if it is suitable for you or even if it works: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...project-super-camera-steriods-note-5-t3205223
Just curious as to why you wouldn't use search to mind what you are looking for.

I am sorry if you did not find "I have no idea if it is suitable for you or even if it works" clear enough. I don't use camera mods myself but I was aware that at least one person had tried to develop one.
Do you think it might be worthwhile to see if the OP of that thread has continued with development?
Were there any links to camera mods that you wanted to add?
