I copied files from my GT-N7100. It copied the folder but not the contents. I left my phone connected to my computer when I get back my phone is on the start up status where you can see the name Samsung Galaxy Note II. I restarted it but it does stay on the same screen. I can't even access it from the computer anymore. I did try to go to recovery mode(TWRP) and tried to do restore but im getting E: I/O error - app/data.... I accidentally wiped out the system and the memory card. Now the only thing I can do is access to recovery mode. Please HELP. How can I flash a new firmware.
Thank you in advance.
So I'll appreciate the help

Try flashing the stock recover/firmwares through Odin or RomToolKit. I'm hoping you didn't somehow mess up the partition on the internal.

okay thank you will try it now and report back.
Need help too
I have a very similar issue right now and am able to still access download/recovery mode. I attempted to use the TOOLKIT V3.0.0 for att to restore back to stock. But the problem is it says "waiting for usb debugging to be enabled" which obviously isnt going to happen since it cant boot. Is this still the case with trying to flash back to stock in Odin manually? Please help. I spent practically every penny on this new phone and havent even had it a week...
Set up odin on your computer...go to sammobile.com dl your fw for your phone..extract it to a .tar. .open odin. Press pda put the. File in yhat slot. Make sure only auto reboot and f reset are cheakd...make sure phone is in dl mode flash away

You can always use the advance mode in twrp to copy the file over from external to internal and then flash. Also I'd you have the right drivers installed on your pc you can just connect your phone to computer and copy the ROM over to internal sd. If twrp isn't reading the external do a recovery reboot and try again.

So my phone is in a bootloop. I made a dumb mistake, and restarted my phone to be met with a bootloop. My question is - is it possible for me to get my files off of the phone before reinstalling/doing a fresh install? I have access to both download mode and CWM Recovery - I just have some files on here that I really need, and unfortunately, they aren't replaceable. Is there anyway for me to get them off of my phone? I'm running WFTN.
I've tried starting up CWM and backing up to external-sd, but every time I do I get a "can't mount backup path" error. So I go to Mounts and Storage and try mounting my external sd, but I get a "Error Mounting /external_sd!" message. Can anyone help me out?
Edit
Actually, I managed to get the files I needed. I needed some recordings off of the phone, and I was able to plug my phone into my computer via usb (in CWM) and it gave me access to the phone's internal SD card. So I suppose all that's left is actually re-flashing the ROM. I was running an older version of WFTN, I suppose i was due for an upgrade anyway.
However, I suppose my original question remains - is it possible to backup the files on the phone (without using the usb)? Is there a reason I was unable to mount my external sd card?
Just because you are flashing a rom doesnt mean your recordings or anhthing on your sd card is wiped when you flash a new rom. The exception being if you use odin to put a oneclick of a jellybean rom on. Then it wiped internal. And if you are worried about sd card just pull it out. Iirc I was always able to pull files from both internal and external while in recovery using el26 kernel. Not sure where the problem was. But glad to know you got your files.

Hi all,
Hope this hasn't been asked/answered (haven't found it yet in the galaxy nexus section).
I'm rooted, have been using a commotio 4.3 rom lately that's worked fine. I thought I'd try something new so I downloaded it, put the .zip file onto the phone (via my Mac in a root folder called "roms"). Went to factory reset the phone and I got all sorts of error messages during the process. When I go to load the rom, in clockwork recovery it says the "sd card can't be mounted." Of note, my phone is encrypted...
I'm having trouble understanding how to do this rooting stuff without an SD card (my last phone had one) - I don't really understand how with the internal storage you can wipe/factory reset and have the ROM you just downloaded and placed in the phone not disappear.
Any thoughts on how I can get my SD card to mount?
Thanks!
1) you cant mount /sdcard in recovery as there is no SDCARD. this has been addressed since the phone came out
2) im pretty sure recovery doesnt understand your phone's partitions since its encrypted.
3) use search.
I know there are multiple threads regarding this, but non of them have a solution for me.
I can't go into recovery mode, holding the buttons only refresh the screen that says "Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-N7100, N7105".
However, I can access download mode, from what I understand, everyone is saying you cannot restore or recover any internal storage data if you go fix your phone through Odin. Is there a work around? Can I get at least recover some of the data on the internal storage before fixing the problem? Maybe a recovery OS like live CD's are used on PC's?
How it started: I inserted a very old SD card into the phone (note 2), not sure what was on it that caused this, but when I turned on the phone, it was stuck at the Samsung logo screen. Removing the SD card didn't change anything.
Thanks
Hello,
I started using my E4GT again because my current phone is being repaired. The phone just froze up on me today and rebooted and was stuck on the black "Samsung Galaxy SII" screen. So I went into recovery and tried to restore my backup from April but it kept getting a MD5 mismatch even though I didn't rename or even touch the file. It wouldn't let me backup my current ROM either. So I wiped data, cache and dalvik cache and tried but nothing. So I went to install a new ROM off my SD and it said "can't mount SD" or something. So I had to flash the stock JB E4GT ROM and now in the notifcations, it says "Blank SD Card - SD card is blank or has unsupported file system". So I put the SD into a SD card reader and my computer will not find it and I can use another SD card on my phone just fine. My SD has all my pictures on it and it sucks that I can't get them back but is there a way that I CAN get them back? The SD also has all my TB files on it.
Thanks
If the PC can't see the card at all, not just a missing file system, then you are SOL. SD cards do die, and can be killed.
If the PC can see the card, but not the file system, you might be able to run a low level data recovery app on the pc to get back some of your stuff.
