Preferably ones that don't have a modem, baseband or kernel. So I can flash them to my i317 and still retain WiFi Calling and other T-Mobile features...
Or how is the exact process of flashing any T889 rom's to the i317. I know ya gotta reflash the modem, but what else is there? Do I also need to relash a kernel of my choosing and baseband?

All you have to do is remove Boot.img and the Modem files. I can do that for you but it is VERY risky to flash and I wouldn't do it on my phone.

Right now I'm using teshxx's latest T-Mobile stock... I might just have to hunt down some rom mods like 4 way reboot menu and 23 toggle mode etc.
Prolly gonna stick with it for awhile to see if my old disappearing text messages bug rears it's ugly head again.

Non of the Roms here have a modem. So you can flash them. I would recommend flashing a kernel after though. Having said that tweaked has an option for att set up so it'll work great and there are other users using it in att right now.

Hi, I just flashed cm10.1 and after booting it tried to activate but I got error 16, does anyone know how to fix this?
You have to call Sprint. It is a network flag that means the network thinks you have 2 phones using the same ESN in other words cloned. It could be a network tower echo.

I called and they were trying to have me check some menu by dialing ##54xxxxx# I don't really remember the code but it didn't do anything, then they wanted me to update the profile but that option isn't on the rom. Should I just tell them I have a custom rom?
You can't use dialer codes on a CM ROM. You have to be on stock or a TW ROM for them to work.

This ^^^^^. If you tell them you have a custom ROM they will not help you. You will either need to find and set up the stock ROM flash from sd card or back up your ROM and flash an MTD TW ROM like the People's ROM.

So how do other people run the rom without running into this issue?

Tower echoes are rare and once you flash back to TW and get it fixed, you should be good to flash whatever you like.

Oh ok thanks!
I bet you just have to sync your profile again. Do what Kenny suggested and backup your CM rom, flash an MTD TW rom. Then you can run update PRL and Profile.
Has anyone had a problem with not getting lte after flashing a rom? I am in an area that has lte. My friend with stock s3 can be right next to me and he gets lte while I don't.
I had stock everything and then rooted and flashed aokp by task and ktooneszrom. Do I need to flash the different modem or something?
Thanks
Ok sorry but is it turned on in settings? If you have checked that already try flashing a TW rom, then update profile and Prl. Also key into your dialer ##72786#

What is the easiest way to go from AOKP rom to a TW based rom? What rom would you recommend?
I would need to flash the firmware, kernel, and then rom, correct? I already made a nandroid backup.
Sorry, just want to make sure. Don't want to brick my phone.

No just flash TPR it's a custom rom based on md4 it will give you options to choose kernel during install. Once booted you can do it all. You can use any firmware you want md4 is the latest and newest the new aosp roms built off of cm will need the md4 firmware.

I strongly recommend reading the main thread but basically Advanced Wireless Services generally refers to the 1700/2100MHz frequency band pairing in the U.S. that will be used for T-Mobile USA's 3G UMTS network

Anybody who had luck with MG1 modem?
I tried to flash the MG1 modem from the tread using mobile odin (untar the MG1.tar, flash modem.bin using modem2 option). When I rebooted the baseband under settings/about was unknown and I couldn't get any reception. What am I doing wrong?
Im kinda confused, sorry but as far as I know there no updates for t mobiles modem/radio the only one I know from tmobile id currently is M919UVUAMDL? Many said if you flash others carrier modem/radio your phone gonna be bricked.

Try re flashing your kernel of choice... If that doesn't work you'll have to stay on the modem specific to your carrier 1337m don't have any issues flashing international modems so I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I tried to re-flash using ODIN 3.07, and I get an error saying that the C++ runtime crashed. I wonder whether the file is corrupt (I have re-downloaded MG1.tar, still same problem).... Very odd..
Somewhat, mobile odin broke my CWM recovery as well during this process. When I try to reboot into recovery to flash the kernel, the phone simply reboot after showing th small blue rebooting recovery text. So, I had to reflash the recovery through desktop odin again... Anyhow, long story short, I have reflashed google play edition 4.2.2 kernel that I was using, and still cannot get any reception (modem section still unknown) with the MG1 modem file...

Anyhow, now even after flashing the original standalone MDL modem through desktop odin, I have no baseband.... Kind of sucks I will try to go back to fully stock with the original ODIN package and retry later on. Hope this will fix my modem...

Ok, back to square 1. Fixed the unknown baseband and I am at the original MDL.
Now, I decided to go the DESKTOP ODIN route. Extracted modem.bin, fired up ODIN 3.07, clicked phone, selected modem.bin, unchecked auto reboot, hit start and got fail!. The phone screen shows "secure check fail : mdm". Is this MG1 modem maybe not compatible with M919?
I don't this is a good idea. Flashing other carrier's modem??

So DN3 looks great but its a N7105 rom, which apparantly is fine, except that it insists that i flash one of 3 modem options, none of which are for my phone. also i heard that for my phone (t889v), once you flash a modem for the wrong device you cant get the correct modem back again.
The T889v doesnt have a flashable modem available?

I tried that by replacing the modem.bin files in the rom's folders for the 3 modem versions with the wind 4.3 modem.bin, it took 2 flashes before my phone would start working but still had a no network symbol instead of signal bars. i also tried flashing the wind 4.1.1 modem through recovery after but no luck. i can see that others on the t889 have had success with this rom, so i should be able to use it on a t889v, cant figure out what the problem is.

I got it working by wiping basically everything except external sd, and incidentally soft bricking my phone, then going into download mode and using odin to flash a factory rom. got signal bars back, so then i reflashed custom recovery and tried flashing dn3 with a new modem again but im not having any luck with it.

Its not data. Its just plain network signal. Instead of seeing bars at the top right ive got a no smoking sign without the cigarette in the middle. Thats what i meant by "no network" symbol. Im pretty sure that its a modem issue. Strange taht flashing a modem over it wonrt work, and other than that the rom works perfectly, but not being able to use my phone to make calls is kind of a dealbreaker.
Most popular will be those listed on the first page of development
Thanks

Hi All,
I tried flashing DN3 on N7105 (I just searched dn3 in search box, and I clicked on the wrong link), and it booted up. Everything was working fine except the mobile connection. If I flash an N7105 modem, will it fix the problem? Or is flashing N7100 roms on N7105 just totally impossible?
I really want to get DN3 to work, the s5 theme looks totally awesome. The DN3 for N7105 is totally outdated, and so are many of the custom roms on the dev section.
Thanks.
I am surprised it even booted I've been told no way, not sure on the modem I guess it can't hurt, keep us updated.

You basically just asked me to risk my phone just to see if it will work haha. And I was the one asking questions XD
Can anybody who tried this tell us the results? Thanks.
From what I read you already flashed it (7100 rom) and it booted so it was you who risked your phone.,I was saying I can't see trying the 7105 modem would hurt.
Cheers
Oh don't 4 get to let me know. ?

Never mind if things are outdated. Your model is not as popular as the N7100 so development will of course be slower.
Suggest you go back to your old rom (hopefully you made a nandroid backup or something)... or reflash it... before you really mess up your phone.
Things just aren't going to work properly for you.
Patience is a virtue.
If you have flashed a n7100 rom you will lose baseband and no modem or anything will bring it back. All n7100 roms work on our device but you are left with a wifi tablet. If your nandriod doesn't restore baseband you might have to flash stock with odin. I'd make sure you can get your baseband back first
Sent from my GT-N7105 using Tapatalk
It doesn't hurt to try flashing DN3 v5 on a N7105. I mean, I've tried it with my N7105T (N7105 roms work flawlessly), which had no luck in getting a proper baseband. You can always get your baseband back with an official firmware, but just to safe, back it up with CWM.
I've tried flashing the official N7105 kitkat firmware (4.4.2). Backed up efs and modem. Flashed DN3 v5. Restored both efs and modem. No luck in restoring signal. Baseband was still unknown
We'll just have to wait for the electron team to release the rom on N7105. Heard they started it some time ago.
This happened to me too. I didn't manage to get LTE/4G to work with only flashing a new modem or baseband. I needed to flasha whole new rom. Maybe I did something wrong.
