that zone icon os so annoying! - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Do you guys know if there is a possible way to remove the "zone" icon, and maybe even make sure it does not come back without to have to root my phone.

I've never seen that before. Sounds related to an app you have installed.

Negative, its a sim toolkit from my provider videotron. i need it but i dont want to see it. they say its to let me know if i am on their network or not. it says "zone" or "out of zone".
the funny thing is, i have unlimited north-america calls (long distances and locals, 24/7)..

OP, check this thread out for Sim Toolkit (stk.apk) which is why you're seeing this as I think it's part of stock:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2108521
It won't remove the notifications but help you better understand its purpose.

i understand the purpose of it, but i want to remove it anyways. Its wasting space.

Double message icon

I can't figure out why I get two message icons evertime I get a text message. I only have the stock messaging app installed. I tried gosms and enabled remove all other notifications and that got rid of them, but I actually prefer stock right now.

They're both envelopes. One grey, one white, but different shapes. I can't post links yet for another five posts so I can't post a pic.

Yes, it was doing that before I installed it. That is the main reason I put I on there so I can disable all other notifications. It did just that, but once I un-installed it, the icons both came back. There's so many apps on there that are Google related, it's hard to tell what to go into and then find the disable icon. It's weird though, it will play my default notification sound, then it plays another one right after.
Bump. Still can't figure this out

Turn off notifications in ur superuser app, but with the app running nonstop in ur background I doubt u will be saving much battery. Mikg3.11 has the ability to turn them off in the built in tweaks app. Just fyi

I had also found this. Also read you could force stop the app and the lights would stay off until you reboot your phone.

You mean it says incompatible in the market right? If so, what dpi are you running? You may need to clear your play store cache, then Google services framework cache. There are many methods or doing this. Search the forums for 'incompatible apps'

[Q] Samsung Glaxy Note 2 WiFi problem

Hello;
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 running Jelly Bean 4.1.2
Problem:
Sometimes my WiFi turns itself on, i turn it off and stare at the screen couple seconds later it turns itself on without me touching the phone.
When at home and the WiFi is turned off it says "Connected to VirginMedia (my WiFi)" and makes my signal cut out (Internet signal E.G H+).
Its highly annoying, ive tried changing things in the WiFi advanced settings and the mobile data settings and it still continues to do this.
I have done the *#0011# and gone to WiFi and turned power saving move off and no change :\
I havent updated anything recently and its only just occured
Please someone help !
Sounds like you u have the malware that is Sprint Connection Optimizer enabled.

Amigo, "Sprint Connections Optimizer" is a system utility that Sprint jams in to their stock ROMs. You cannot remove it, all you can do is turn it off. I believe via Network Setting somewhere.
The theory behind the utility is that it checks what internet connections are available and picks the quickest one....the reality is that it wastes battery and does a terrible job at optimizing anything,
Oh okay, ive seen videos for the s3 etc its simply untick it but the Note 2 doesn't have that option I cant find it anywhere :/

New Google Apps From the Nexus 5 Kit-Kat Dump (Search, Launcher, And More)

To install the new launcher (Google Home), you’ll have to install 3 different apps – Google Play Services 4.0, Google Search, and the Google Home .apk. (Cheers to Phandroid for figuring that out.)
Most are minor updates, but there are a couple worth looking at, like the new Google Search (it’s awesome), Launcher (“Google Home”), Keyboard, and Clock. We’ve got some screenshots, special instructions for installing the launcher (since it’s tricky), and then all of the download links.

I think he's asking the feature on the Nexus 5 where you say "OK, Google" and it launches Google Now automatically. And I don't think that works in any other phone except the Nexus 5.
Is there anyway to make the navbar and status bar transparent like on the N5, since i tried using the pa editor and it doesnt really do anything
