Guys,
What is this QuickSet SDK ? Its draining battery hugely.
How can I fix this issue ?

Quick Set is for the IR remote control. Do you have it activated and showing on the lock screen?

Yes I've activated it.
The problem is when the screen is on and m not doing anything quickset is at large and hogs cpu. Never let it rest at 384 MHz...
Deactivating remote control is not helping. Quicksetsdk is still hogging cpu...
I checked running processes and cached processes. Nothing BT the name quicksetsdk is running...

The **** apk is a helper apk for qremote.
Now just for this remote functionality I can not let quicksetsdk to hog cpu all the time and make it run at 1134 or 918mhz even when remote is not used.
I disabled them. Now since then:
1. Cpu is at 384 for normal operations.
2. This resulted in battery temperature to be reduced by 5 degrees during normal operation.
3. Battery life of 25% is saved which otherwise quicksetsdk would have consumed. 25% of 85% of 3140mah = 665 Mah !!! Means ~1hr screen on time.
Its good to have remote functionality but a properly optimized one.

I am facing the exact issue in my phone . The Quickset sdk is consuming 40% of my phone's battery. Can you please tell us how you disabled the quickset sdk? Which ***apk are you referring to here? Need to get rid of this asap.

my G pro now can last more than a day. Nice!

You only cleared the data of these apks ?

yes, I only cleared the data, not freeze them
I haven't root my g pro, so I cant use Titanium to freeze them.
if I ever use the qremote again, of course the hog will return
another battery hog I know is Safety Care app....
it keeps running on background.
but I think I manage to shut it off by declining the terms of usage of the app
so far so good, the app doesnt go back and running in background

I have same problem, this quickset sdk draining my battery. But i still want to use it. If i freeze this apk's, that's mean i cannot use remote again ?
If you disable the apks you won't be able to use remote.
If you want to use remote then unfreeze them but 35-40% battery is consumed by remote once you configure and start using it.
LG is a black mark on android software development.
Okay thank you. I think i will freeze it for daily use. And unfreeze it when i need to use remote.
No root needed
Just disable the Quickset SDK app
you can do it using system setting > apps > all
scroll to quickset SDK > select disable
However, if you're rooted your phone. you can make a custom widget to enable/disable quickset SDK straight from home screen without getting hassle digging the setting menu.
Install app Freezer from PlayStore, use it to make custom widget.

The app link on the playstore is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.webzler.soslauncher
Description
This is a homescreen replacement that has an Ultra Power Saving Mode for your phone to help you extend battery life when you are running out of charge. This launcher allows up-to 4 apps on the home-screen.
What this app does:
1. Kills all running apps and services.
2. Disables WiFi, Data.
3. Shows Missed Calls and Missed Messages.
Ultra Power Saving Mode:
4. OLED Mode for AMOLED devices.
5. Changes governor to Powersave mode. (requires ROOT Access)
6. Disables 2 cores of a Quad core phone. (requires ROOT Access)
7. Reboot during exit. (requires ROOT Access)
When your phone goes below 15% battery, the app shows alert to clear the defaults for your current launcher. After clearing, set SOS Launcher as the default homescreen, and the app would take care of the battery. Once you quit the app, it would clear itself as the default launcher and you can start using your favorite launcher back.
What services does it kill?
Killing certain services will only create a wakelock for apps that request certain cervices.
Killing all apps? Like a task manager?
Well task managers have been kind of debunked for a while and killing all running apps only consumes more battery since most will start right back up.
Oled mode is useless for LCD/IPS screens.
While your work is appreciated a kernel tweak is all that's needed to save battery and most "battery saving mode" apps on android are useless.

Curious if anyone has tried or had any luck running anything like Greenify or Titanium Backup on the Moto 360. I did get Greenify to load properly, and the interface is useable, but I couldn't actually get it to hibernate any apps. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck hibernating/freezing any apps.

Just a follow-up, once I had proper root on the Moto 360, Greenify does work, and it does hibernate apps, which is cool. You have to manually run it, but it does work. I never did get Titanium Backup to run though.
Hey, sorry to bump.
When u say manually u mean go to mini launcher and click on the app + zzz fot each hibernation ?
And whay apps did u hibernate and also did it make any dif battery wise ?

Yes, open the app and click zzz to hibernate all selected apps.
I actually hibernated about all of the apps I could, tough to tell if it really helped with battery life.

Zzz is Greenify's hibernate button.
Hello guys!
It's been 3 weeks now since I've got my LG G4 h815 (SN510) used, and I'm very happy with it. Very fluid user experience overall.
But, the battery... It only gives me 2hs, maybe 3hs sometimes of screen. Have 2 brand new OEM batteries, and gotta charge it at least every half day in order to reach midnight...
So, did anyone tried to lower the resolution? You have to be ROOT, and I don't want to yet because of the Nougat update incoming... But maybe by lowering from 1440p to 1080p, will help a little.
The panel will still 1440p, but at least it will render everything much lower, consuming less gpu and cpu.
I've done this on my previus Moto Maxx (5,2' 1440p, SAMOLED) and it did make a diference (even tho the battery was a BEAST).
Hope some of you have already tried it and have some suggestions!
There is an app called 'screen shift' that will change the resolution. I tried it on Nougat not sure if it works on MM.
Anyway it won't make any difference I promise you.
Buy an external battery charger for 1 or 2 spare batteries and if you don't already have one get a fast charger - it's vital for the G4.

That's just the way Android is unfortunately. If you open the stopwatch app and keep the screen on, you can get 7 hours of screen on time at low brightness.
The simplest of things you can do is to disable wifi/Bluetooth scanning under location settings. Also disable all logging in LG's hidden menu.
If you do want to make some bigger changes, you can investigate which apps may be keeping your device awake while the screen is off. This can be done with BetterBatteryStats and Wakelock Detector. After that, you can uninstall the bad apps that you don't really need. There are some apps I use on occasion so quickly freeze/defrost them from the lock screen using App Quarantine Pro but this requires root access. You can also try the non root version of Greenify to hibernate bad apps from running in the background. To get the full power out of these, I'd recommend rooting and getting xposed features of Greenify but that opens a whole can of worms.

By this assumption, any custom ROM Will perform muchas better, correct? Even when Android OS show little to almost nothing of battery consumption.
All the other solutions mentioned, requires ROOT access.
I believe that changing resolution Will help, a lot. But dont want to ROOT before Nougat OTA.

Try optimizing the apps by going into settings. Also try disabling the running of useless apps in background. I was also facing battery drain very fast but since i disabled background usage of useless apps and optimized the apps on battery, i am getting terrific results. Will post screenshots when i head back home.
I'm getting around 12Hrs+ with my poco F1 which has 4000mah
its usual with any new phone .. id recommend disable fast charging , let it charge overnight with a regular speed.
after the second charge , im getting 17+ hours - over two use of youtube, netflix and texting , which is marvelous
loving the device , camera is great , screen is crisp , and its SNAAAAAAAAAPDragon .. F.CK Yeah
Got 17 hours on my first charge and that was with 4gb of WhatsApp backup downloading, setting up my work profile and lots of other one time things! I have done my usual of setting a lot of apps to deep sleeping and disabling any bloatware I can't uninstall using Samsung package disabler pro. I reckon 20 hours is possible with this phone...

What is the difference between disabling bloatware using settings app and by using Samsung package disabler? I mean why install another app to just disable stuff which you can easily achieve using settings app. In both cases space will be used, app updates won't be applied. So what is the benefit of using that app? I am just asking if i am missing anything?

There are lots of Samsung apps that you can't uninstall or disable. By settings app you mean the native phone settings for apps? Also with package disabler you can very quickly trial and undo things incase you see negative impacts

I don't see why you couldn't restrict it running in the background, can't think of anything that would be adversely affected by doing so.
To (possibly) help in curbing unnecessary apps from running at all, I'm using this Package Disabler:

I've got this phone, the Wing, & a Note20 (both T-Mobile US models, FWIW).
I haven't totally disabled the 2nd display, just restricted background data usage & optimized battery setting enabled.
Haven't actually checked usage, I don't keep track on battery at all after I go through the new phone/initial set up & fine tune background & battery settings one by one, including system apps. It's tedious, but, worth it afterwards.
