Hi guys, today I will show you how to force install Google Play Services in some ROMs.
Method #1 (My thread, actually):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2248648
Method #2 (Only tested on Hyperion 8):
1. Download lastest Google Apps from anywhere.
2. Extract it.
3. Paste the files into their respective location (expect META-INF).
4. Change their permission to rw-r--r-- (if you want do it)
5. Reboot into CWM.
6. Wipe data, cache & dalvik cache.
7. Do fix permissions and reboot.
8. Open Play Store and tap Agree. Then let it download Google Play Services.
Method 3:
1. Download lastest Google Apps from anywhere.
2. Extract it.
3. Extract your ROM.
4. Paste the extracted Google Apps into the extracted ROM (into their respective location).
5. Rezip your ROM (and resign the zip)
6. Flash it, do fix permission and reboot.
7. Open Play Store and tap Agree. Then let it download Google Play Services.
NOTE: It is recommended to make Nandroid backup first. Do it at your own risk.

Same problem for me and same ROM...
what you need to do is put your desire in recovery and use adb to delete google maps. just mount /system/ and use the command rm /system/app/maps.apk then you can just reinstall google maps from the market

Tried this, still fails to install. Now I don't have maps. Fancy uploading your Maps.apk please?
Edit: Scrap that, check out this.
You can also try this, did it yesterday and working fine.
To remove Google Brut so you van instal the original Google Maps follow the steps. Works fine.
1.
Remove the following files from your phone.
The first two files (red) I did not delete but temporary renamed with Root Explorer to com.google.android.maps.jar.old and com.google.android.maps.xml.old
com.google.android.maps.jar in system\framework
com.google.android.maps.xml in system\etc\permissions
maps.apk in system\app (delete this one from phone)
2. Reboot
3. Extract Maps.apk from the downloaded ROM file. Find it in system\app
4. Copy back or rename back the xml & jar file, and install the maps.apk from the removed rom manually using htc sync or the way you normaly install a APK file.
5. Reboot
6. Uninstall Google Map. You uninstal the installed version from step 4.
7. Reboot to recovery, clear cache & dalvik cache
8 Install google map from market
9. Done
Quick question regarding Google navigation brut. Once u r navigating , and for example u take a wrong turn , .. The navigation voice won't tell u that u have taken a wrong turn or the term , rerouting ! any suggestions ..

2. Flash latest cm7 build: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1996275
3. Reboot
4. After 1st boot, reboot to recovery flash gapps and reboot
5. You will notice that market is missing
6. Install root explorer.. go to /system/app delete vending.apk
7. Reboot
8. Extract vending.apk from gapps.zip and install as a user app
9. Open it.. add google account if you have not added before and market will face fc's
10. (ADDITIONAL NOT NECESSORY) In cwm chose fix permissions (market still gave fc's)
11. Using root explorer go to /data/app move com.google.vending.apk and paste it in your /system/app
12. Rename apk to vending.apk

Hi! I found a way to make Gallery to work flawlessly with Picasa sync in Smoothrom (should work in other roms)....
I did research but this solution posted in [APP][MOD][addon.d] Stock Gallery w/ Picasa Sync by mkilc when you try to share or edit the images the app crash or it tells you that it cant use the image.
The steps:
1) Download Stock rom, I downloaded Grouper-JDQ39_4.2.2-Deodex_Rooted-02-14-13-teshxx.zip from goo.im
2) OF COURSE Download SmoothRom (5.1 in my case)
3) Extract content of stock rom to a folder
4) Open Smoothrom using 7-zip or whatever you like
5) Go to system/app and delete Gallery2.apk
6) Find in the extracted stock files system/app/GalleryGoogle.apk and rename it to Gallery2.apk
7) Copy the renamed file into the open folder in 7-zip of Smoothrom (system/app)
8) Now you can install the ROM as you would normally do: BACKUP WIPE INSTAL ZIP......
9) DONE!! Now you can edit and share Picasa images without any problems.
I know there must be a way doing this without having to wipe and install but i did this because I needed to reinstall the rom after messing up without backup.
It should be something like this: Force Aplication shutdown, delete Gallery2.apk from system/app / copy the renamed file from the stock rom / reboot in recovery / wipe dalvik cache and reboot.... CORRECT ME IF IAM WRONG, Im not an expert....
I hope you found this usefull
You need to be rooted and i recommend use root explorer
1) First guys make sure you have the apk or else pull it from /Root/Data/App
2) Copy that apk to your SD card and install it as a normal user app (Like a usual APK)
3) Go to /Root/Data/Data
4) Find the app then go to it and open the folder (eg. com.android.camera - Camera)
5) Go to file called "lib" in the folder (com.android.camera)
6) You may find one or multiple files in it. (eg. abcd.so ) copy it or them to your SD card
7) Uninstall the app and reboot the device
8) Take the apk from SD card and copy the apk to /Root/System
9) Select the file and change the permissions of the apk under select permissions
10) Tick all the boxes under read and only the first one under write and click ok
11) It should look like rw-r--r--
12) Then cut the Apk and pate it to /Root/System/app
13) Copy the the Lib named like. (Eg - abcd.so) to /Root/System and change the permission like you did with earlier apk but cut (Eg. abcd.so) it and paste it to /Root/System/lib
And reboot and enjoy
Hit Thank If It Helped You
I don't unstand why you can install a system apps on step 2
mine shows App not installed. The package appears to be corrupt. and some time conflict
I feel dumb, it doesn't know what to use to install an apk... I've never had this issue before.
Try settings - storage - explore - downloads
And select your downloaded apk. If that doesn't work, download file explorer and select it from inside there. Idk why it sees it as an apk this way and not when you select open or from the notification.
I've never had to do that before... Maybe this is the first phone I've had longer than a day without flashing...
I downloaded a ton of APKs last night. When i found the apks in the file folder and ready to install. O was prompted to choose package installer or a different program

You should be able to just install the APK directly from your phone as long as you have unknown sources enabled. You can also install it using adb by using the following command: adb install filename.apk
Wasn't that easy. It doesn't know how to install it if you open the file from notifications or the downloads app.

I had the same problem at first, but I downloaded androzip and installed my .apks just fine. I only have two apps I side load old beta of fb and the chat enabler antaresone wrote to keep messenger in the native app.
Yeah to get it to install XDA labs I had to delete data for Package Installer under apps.
