During First boot, there might be a race condition where ROMCustomizer needs root permissions and has initiated its set on boot scripts execution. It is rare, but might happen. This is harmless, open up SuperSu and Grant the permissions.

Riflez, you should apply that blue theme you posted in the Embryo general thread. With brightness slider of course also you should switch the battery icons font to stock font. Would definitely be more aesthetic. Just some ideas..

yeah, i flashed slim gapps just to make sure that the they where included.. For the skyrocket there are two must have core packs and i assumed that necessary files would be in pack 2 so i flashed them as a precaution... i am not home right now ( i am at my mother in laws pad ) and cant really do much on this pc... once i get to my house i will be able to get into detailed tweaks for this ROM.... if anyone is willing to help me get this going faster that would be awesome! I am new to XDA, and this being my first development thread i want to say hello to everyone. I hope to meet wonderful people and learn from you all. It's Morphing time!

Welcome.. New blood is always nice.. Gapps where included in the second pack. I have seen Twiz based ROMs get bored from trying to flash gapps for aosp ROMs... I'd not recommended that to anyone...

actually now that i think about it.... i did have googlegallery working and im using the 4.2 keyboard of off kdh next gen gapps... i had to manualy add it and its lib but its working fine... and thanks bro, happy to be here...

Yes it still has the issue with the signal bars not showing i will upload screenshots in a bit give me a couple minutes.... im trying to cook and do this at the same time... oh goodness... the things technology makes us do! i love it!

Hey bajee. Is PUB baked into your version? Seems PUB doesn't allow Google Voice to play the voicemails straight from the Phone app. Instead, it FCs each time I hit play. So, I'm stuck at using Nightlies 3/22.

Stock kernal works awesome for me I know it's not overclock but the battery life is epic..........

Just place your bootanimation in data/loca/ and it will override any system/media bootanimation even after a dirty flash.

Unstoppable ROM at the moment,no issues so far.

With active display your device can turn on when new notifications arrive and display that information to you on the screen. There is no need to turn your device on every time you hear that distinctive notification sound. Your notifications are right where you need them without all the clutter and free from other distractions. If your device has a proximity sensor, which most touch screen phones have, you are in luck. Active display will not turn on if it detects something close to this sensor. So if you have your phone stashed away in your pocket or bag, don't worry, it won't turn the display on and waste your battery. And as an added bonus we've included an option to turn on pocket mode. When this is enabled active display will turn on your screen and display your current notifications instantly, provided you have any pending notifications.

2: Wipe battery stats--- y u say because you're true battery life will then be n sync with you're new ROM... Bear in mind takes a few days to get a ROM settled in well and then u really start seeing how battery life is....
3: Wipe data,system,cache,and dalvick cache (do not wipe internal storage)---- i genereally recmmond doing minimum twice just to make sure it wipes ...

I'm gonna try out this ROM. Chaos Launcher baked into Dirty Unicorns was one of the best features of that ROM even if the WIP code did make things a bit unstable for me. :fingers-crossed:

I have only tried one theme (Chameleon Theme) and it worked fine. I do know that Miui themes don't apply fully / correctly.

For miui themes there nothing I can do... They do have more themes in their forum if u wanna see n try that ...

Installation instructions
Installing Mahdi-Rom for the first time, or coming from another ROM:
- Make sure you're running a proper working ClockworkMod-Recovery/Team Win Recovery Project
- Copy GApps and ROM ZIP to your SDCard
- Boot into Recovery
- Flash Mahdi-Rom zip from SDCard
- Flash GApps zip from SDCard
- DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your device will be stuck at boot)
- Reboot
- Don't restore system data using Titanium Backup!
Upgrading from an earlier version:
- Copy the ROM ZIP to your SDCard
- Boot into Recovery
- Flash the ROM zip from SDCard
- Flash GApps zip from SDCard
- Reboot

Have never used aocp so no idea

Just wanted to chime in and say that this ROM is awesome! I ran the INT'L version until i realized I didn't have any voice searching or dictation abilities (could have just been the build vs running the INT'L version on my TMO device, didn't go through the process to figure it out). Have this installed and seems to be running well. Only small issue I've come across is SUPERUSER lagging behind in the boot process. Some of my root enabled apps throw up a notification that root permissions weren't available or simply don't do what they need to do. Manually setting them works after Superuser is up and running (4 or 5 min mark after boot). Now if I could only talk Mahdi into incorporating a TRDS like UI. But even without, a very stable and battery friendly (despite my overclocking KT's latest) way to enjoy a highly customizable KITKAT ROM. Thanx ShinySide for bringing this to TMO users!!!!

Was running the jfltexx version of Mahdi (by adding jfltetmo to the install script) on my second S4 and everything ran fine out of the box as far as I could tell. What would be the difference in this jfltetmo build, if I may ask? Kernel?
No gripes, just an observation: feature wise compared to your unofficial Carbon, Mahdi ROM seems to be mostly the same on customization features. It has the cool notification bar background (day vs night context) but I prefer out of the box transparent status bar on Carbon which Mahdi doesn't have yet. Both are snappy.
My only wish for either ROM would be SlimKat's custom action tile. That would complete it for me. (SlimPIE would be nice too but LMT fills the gap for now)
Anyway, thanks for all your efforts, Shiny.

All s4s use a common kernel. The same kernel is used for all, but each s4 has its own device tree which have little differences here and there. I'd have to look thru each to tell you the differences between them all.

Thanks - that's what I thought about jfltexx and jfltetmo, because for a few weeks now I've been using Vampire's, I mean, Alucard's kernel from his jfltexx thread which I see it is now in your latest Carbon unofficial also.

Install 7zip and notepad++ (both free) right click the zip select 7zip>open as archive then go to META-INF/com/google/android and drag the updater script to your desktop. Open it with notepad++
and delete or change this line
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "jfltexx" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "jfltexx" || abort
to:
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "jfltetmo" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "jfltetmo" || abort
or like I said just delete the entire assert line. Then drag the updater-script back to the zip window and exit out of 7zip and flash away
