I followed the xposed modded google play store instructions to the letter, got everything installed and running. Google Play Store opens and lets me login just fine. But when it opens, it says "No Connection - Retry". Anyone having the same issue or have a solution?

I was on ethernet and I tried turning ethernet off. Maybe I just need to unplug it and try again. Or try a different access point. Any other ideas?
Today, I'm going to try and install the StockPlus rom that comes with everything all ready for you. If that work's I'll let all you know.

Had this problem the other night, I fixed it by loading Xposed framework first in Adb, then installing with ADb command, after open Xposed framework and go to modules use the mouse to tick the ouya box. after this I ran the script to install google play and bam I was running. the batch file would time out on my network copy and the xposed framework so I bypassed it and it solved my issues.

Could you be more clear on what you did? More detailed instructions please, less pronouns. I've installed the framework and ticked the box for the play store mod. Should I wipe my ouya and start fresh?

I have had this issue also, did you see the license agreement for googIe Play when you first opened the play store? I never got the license pop-up so I went back into Exposed are re-ran the installer and then rebooted. Once the ouya came back up I went back into google play and the license agreement screen appeared. Once I accepted the license, google play store loaded without issue.

Is there anyway to uninstall Google Play on the Ouya? I also get the no connection error. I tried clearing the cache, disabling it/re-enable it. All have no luck. Anyone know a better way to fix this?
No Connection(Custom Rom) Fix
For custom roms, just Wipe Dalvik Cache and Flash Gapps. Fixed for me
*easy step by step solution*!!!
1. CHECK TO SEE IF YOUR TIMEZONE MATCHES YOUR OWN TIMEZONE(USE NETWORK PROVIDED TIME
2. CLEAR DATA AND CACHE, FORCE STOP! BLAH BLAH BLAH...
3. REBOOT
AT FIRST THIS SOLUTION DIDN'T WORK FOR ME SO, HERE IS WHAT WORKED FOR ME
*ROOT REQUIRED*
1. DOWNLOAD ROOT EXPLORER or ROOT BROWSER
2. NAVIGATE TO A FOLDER CALLED "etc' (LOWER CASE)
3. THEN, SELECT A FILE NAMED "host"
4. DELETE THAT FILE AND REBOOT!!
5. ENJOY GOOGLE PLAY!
I DO NOT HOLD ANY RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE, THIS IS JUST HOW I FIXED IT!!

Hi
I just installed CM7 RC0 and also tried to install gappks.apk through recovery. but apart from Market and Gtalk noting was installed.
When I am trying to download anything from market it shows "downloading from Maket". but nothing gets downloaded.
I tried to do the s0be method but i am not able to create any folder in /cache directory. it states "permission denied' read only file system...
need your help to get market downloads working
Update: Tried s0be's method but no luck...cannot get pass step 4

I don't know if it will be any help but I had the same issue when I was using fixed SBFs and a nandroid. It seems to have rectified itself since I flashed the full Nordic Froyo. It may or may not have been coincidental though.
[Q]CM7 RC1 V2-Not able to download anything from market
After updating from RC0 to RC1 v2, I am not able to download anything from market. I am able to browse all the applications in Market. When i click to to install, it starts and disappears.
I tried wiping data/catch and re-isntalling Rc2 v2 but not help.
Does anyone one have any suggestion ?
did u solve the problem?
go to settings > application > all > market and tap on uninstall updates.
You will get the old i.e the factory version of the market. However, it can download stuff
and I no longer get the "connection time out" error. yay
Manage Applications> "Market" and “Google Services Framework” , clear cache and data, reboot.
I've spent hours upon hours working on this phone, and i've tried basically every solution I could find:
Below I'll type a more detailed list of troubleshooting i've tried but currently my main issue is that I deleted my systems.apk file, after trying a recovery none of the files in my system/app folder are actually installed and if i try to install them it tells me I can't because they aren't market apps, but because I have no settings menu I can't allow non market apps to be installed. If I can find a way to install non-market apps without selecting the option from the settings menu I might be able to solve this issue.
More information:
This is an "old" phone that i recently turned on to used and found it was full of bloatware, adware apps so I rooted to delete some of it and it seems in the process I managed to delete the settings.apk file. I installed CWM & rom manager, tried to run a recovery through that (Can not run a factory reset because i have no settings menu and the hard reset does not work) and when I booted up my phone, I kept getting an error message that vzw setup wizard stopped unexpectedly, the only option was force close and as soon as I hit it it would come back up. eventually someone texted me and I realized when I had a notification and plugged in my phone I could get to the text message-through the text message menu I added my gmail account, and emailed myself the google play store URL and was able to gain access to the store. Using the store I installed Go Lancher EX and then had an (almost) functioning phone- I have to be careful not to back out of Go launcher or I'll have to send myself an email so I can get back into the store and finally back into go launcher. I had my boyfriend send me the settings.apk file from his phone, and could not copy it into settings/apps because it was read-only, so i tried downloading an app that would allow me to change permissions and realized it would not install any .apk files. I then started selecting some of the apps already in system/apps and none of them are installed- It will not let me install them because they are not technically market apps.
Other things I tried:
SUES: Tells me my phone is up to date and will not do anything more.
PC companion: Tells me there is no software available for my device.
Android commander: Gets stuck on "loading" and won't actually start up.
Flash tool: Tried two different stock ROMS, always gives me this error message: "Sin header verification failed" (Yes, I selected the option to not do a final verification"
How can I force my phone to install the system apps ?

I tried flashing two .ftf files, flashtools gives me the "sin header verification failed" error message. I'm unfamiliar with flashable zips- will that get around my flashtools problem? Should I send you just settings.apk and systemUI.apk?
Thank you !
Edit:
I've done some reading about flashable zips and it seems pretty promising, thank you!
I've attatched a zip file with systemui.apk from my phone and settings.apk from my boyfriends phone- he doesn't have an xperia play, if that makes a difference.
Also, I don't know how much of an effect this would have with flash tools but because I can't get into my settings, I also can't turn on USB debugging.

This thread just for noob of an andorid device. I'm also a noob lol..
I posted the method at Blogger. now paste here. Take huawei Ascend G330D U8825D as an example:
1. Make sure your Ascend G330D rooted. This is must be request.
2.Find 2 or 3 apk:
a>GoogleServicesFramework(Check your phone via RE explorer)
b>GoogleLoginService
c>Google play store(lastest version is better)
3.Copy those 2 or 3 apps to your phone(Internal or Extend are ok)
4.Copy them into System/app via RE.explorer
5.Restart your phone.
6.You will find the Google play and now login with your google account.

So I solved my problem with the Xperia S LT26i Chinese:
I found the rom ITA LT26i_6.1.A.2.50_1257-5499_Generic_Italy.zip
and I installed it with flashtool
It was very simple
I did not understand if the device is rooted now
Now the device is fully Italian as if I had bought in my country
Ciao!
Changing file permissions was critical
Thanks for the information and the attachments xjarl!
This worked perfectly for me, but only after I changed the permissions on the 3 files! I bought a Coolpad (Yulong) 8022 with Android 2.3.7 in China through China Mobile. I rooted the phone but was unable to install Google Play until I found this post. I downloaded the attachment, extracted the files and copied the 3 APK files to my system/app folder and rebooted. After installing Google Play and running it, I could browse all the apps in the store but I could not download or install them. The progress bar didn't move.
So I launched Root Explorer and went to the system/app folder. Then I changed the permissions of the 3 APKs: GoogleServicesFramework.apk, GoogleLoginService.apk and Google_Play-v3.8.17.apk to rw-r--r-- to match all the other files in the folder and rebooted. Since then everything has been working fine! Now I can browse the App store and download and install files without a problem!
So, the steps I recommend are:
1. Root your phone.
2. Download the attachment above.
3. Extract GoogleServicesFramework.apk, GoogleLoginService.apk and Google_Play-v3.8.17.apk from the RAR file and copy them to the system/app folder on your phone with Root Explorer.
4. In Root Explorer click Mount R/W. Change the permissions of the 3 files to match the permissions of the other files in the folder (rw-r--r--). Then click Mount R/O and exit Root Explorer.
5. Reboot your phone.
6. Go to Accounts & Sync in your phone's settings, click Add account and enter your Google/GMail account details.
7. Go to your apps and Launch Google Play.
I'm guessing that this will work on any Android phone. Good luck!
Thanks for shared.

Crashing
I hope someone can help me here. I have a Green Orange N1.
The first thing i tried was to simply install vending apk.
App was crashing before loading.
I tried this method and followed all steps
Root - adding 3 apk to system/app - set permissions- but no luck. Google play still crashes.
I tried also with different G Play versions and still i can't access the application.
Do you have any idea about other steps?

I got it working by downloading different versions of GoogleServicesFramework
i have found 3 versions on the first page searching for GoogleServicesFramework.apk on google
One of them was 2.3M not 4M and it worked. i have also downloaded different GoogleLoginService
Now all google apps work perfectly except for voice search... looks like it doesn't connect.
I can give commands and it keeps searching. don't know if it depends on the GoogleLoginService i installed.
My solution is probably messing up something.
It would be really nice to know which versions of Framework or LoginServices are available andhow to choose the right ones for 4.2 or 4.1.
hope someone can explain here

This kinda works with a bit of play around
These files are KING!!!!
This method works if you root your phone!
I rooted my phone(Samsung Galaxy S4) bought from China loaded with spam and bloatware. The phone by default has a whole load of crap installed into the system apps folder and can't be deleted unless rooted!!!
I rooted using:
Odin3 v3.07
cofface_I9500_cwm_recovery_en_new.tar
Google_play.rar
SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1_3_2300_0
System App Remover
Root Explorer
Step 1: Put phone in USB debugging mode in order for ODIN to successfully detect and install 'cofface_I9500_cwm_recovery_en_new.tar'
Step 2: Power phone on holding Volume Down, Menu Button and Power Button. (This put it in download mode)
Step 3: Plug phone into PC(Ensure USB drivers have been installed)
Step 4: Open ODIN
Step 5: Select PDA and locate 'cofface_I9500_cwm_recovery_en_new.tar'
Step 6: Click Start (Sit back it takes a few)
Step 7: Once completed immediately unplug battery before phone restarts.(This apparently ensures the CWM will root the phone for S4 new security)
Step 8: Power phone on using Volume Up, Menu Button and Power Button.
Step 9: Root phone option
Step 10: Install from SD card
Step 11: Select the CWM option
Step 12: Restart phone from the options
Step 13 : Super User app should now be installed on the phone
Step 14 : Given that you can't access google play you may need to download apps via pc or web browser on your mobile.
Step 15 : Download the following apps a) Root Explorer b) System App Remover.
Step 14 : Be smart and write down the names of the apps you need to remove and take note of the icons.
Step 15 : Delete what you can through System App Remover (Some will not delete through this app but you'll understand a little later)
Step 16 : Once you've deleted what you can, open Root explorer.
Step 17 : Copy the Google Play files (There are 3) into a directory you can find on your phone.
Step 18 : These files should be stored on SD in Root Explorer, Tap Hold and Move.
Step 19 : Go to System then Apps.
Step 20 : Paste and extract the folder.
Step 21 : Delete the remaining apps that System App Remover couldn't remove.( be careful deleting the wrong apps can be troublesome)
Step 22: NB!!!! Change the permissions on theses 3 apps to all permissions or your phone will keep bringing up alerts and freezing!!!!!
Step 23 : In any event copying the framework from another device you will be forced to do a Factory Reset to have it all fully functional!!!!
This worked for me. Thought I'd put the full list of instructions because it took me a few hours to gather all this info from a mix of sites.
All credit to everyone I resourced to finally get this working!!! This seems to have been an unresolved one on many sites with no tutorials for newbs.

Possible Cause:
- system file named 'hosts' (/etc/hosts) points to a Google server that changed IP, thus blocking access to Apps.
Possible Solution:
- edit 'hosts' file (/etc/hosts)
How to do it
- First, a rooted device(derr)
-download root explorer(from below)
-go to settings->apps-> playstore
- clear cache and data of playstore
-open root explorer
- go to a folder named 'etc' from the Root tab
- click the mount r/w button on the top right corner
-hold the 'host' file until a pop-up menu appear
-click the 'open in text editor' button
-you will see 2 IP address in the file
-the second IP address does not have a '#' infront of it
- then at in '#' infront of the second IP address
-now save it and then reboot/restart your phone
-TADDA, your playstore should be fixed
If that doesnt work, change/correct the date of your phone
Press Thank if i help you^^

Reinstalling ROM is not required. Just wipe data first and see if it works fine. If it still fails, install another version of Google play. If it still fails, try reverting your hosts file. If all the above don't work, only then you reinstall the ROM. Try working on the smaller details instead of looking at the big picture.

Anyone made the Measure app work on their OP3?
I'm also having problems what's brought me here. I was trying different versions and nothing works :/
Yep, works perfectly fine here. Do other AR Core apps work for you?
Actually I have a problem with installing AR Core itself, do you have a link to proper version?
Also can't get it to work. I tried a few different versions of the ARCore apk now, but when opening the measure app all I get is different error messages.

Do you have a OnePlus 3 or 3T?
I've had ARC running earlier, but can't get the Measure app to work. I can install both APKs, but I get error when starting the Measure app.

I have the 3.
What I did was the following:
1) Download and install the latest ARCore apk from apkmirror: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/arcore/arcore-1-3-180604066-release/
2) Sideload an ARCore-enabled app like Just a Line or IKEA Place (again, from APK Mirror) and launch it so it crashes the first time.
3) Using a root explorer, go to /data/data/com.google.ar.core/files/device_profile_database/ and find the file for the OnePlus 3T (it will have "OnePlus3T" in its name).
4) Rename/Remove the "T" from "OnePlus3T" in the file name.
5) Launch an ARCore-enabled app again and it should work flawlessly.

... or it replies to you then with the error: " This device does not support AR" instead of hanging at start ^^
Fobos531´s instructions seem to work well for me. I can use the measure app now. Though I'm not yet sure how exact it is. Haven't had much time yet for testing it.
For reference, I've got OP3 (not T) running NitrogenOS 8.1
Fixed, I completely kicked ARCore APK and reinstalled. Now it works. AR Stickers does not, but I think that I use the wrong APK...

Can you try manually creating the file in that case? Create a "files" folder, inside create a folder named "device_profile_database" and inside that folder create a file named "device_profile_OnePlus3_colon_8.textproto" (make sure .textproto is the extension). Put this in the file: https://gist.github.com/fobos531/64cd45838ffb6a143a83306882d208b6
Also the file should have read+write permissions only for the owner (you can do "chmod 600 /data/data/com.google.ar.core/files/device_profile_database/device_profile_OnePlus3_colon_8.textproto") to achieve this.

Same happened to me. Problem was a too old apk (didn't use the version from the download link above at first, thought I had the right one)
Sure you used that one?

This works well for me.
I have the Skulshady's ARCore before. I uninstall it and install the latest version from apkmiror, then follow this guide and works fine.
Thanks @Fobos531 , your way works for me like a charm. OOS 5.0.3 with Magisk. Installed ArCore 1.3 from apkmirror, then Ikea app, let it crash one time, edited the filename and everything works now.
i installed the lasr ar core from apk mirror,
and downloaded measures from play store
and i didnt do anything else
and its working fine.

If you are able to download measure app from play store then it means, your phone supports this, you don't need to do anything else
