Got a notification that there's an update for my device. Except it won't update because the device is rooted.
Is there a way to unroot the OGP?

I have done a search so save me the bull**** about doing a search is there an update for the HTC EVO 4G I am rooted running mik ROM 3.0 and haven't had a notification about an update but I have heard rumors about an update. If there is what android version is it and will it mess my root up?? Also is there a ROM that gives me the option to lock my phone and the only way to unlock it is by voice?? Just a few questions thanx for any help

Are you looking for the latest stock rooted rom? If so I'm pretty sure u can find it in the development section. Or are you trying to unroot and go back to stock? And if your running mikg I'm pretty sure you won't receive update notifications for the evo from sprint. Not sure what your trying to accomplish man.

Also nah I haven't heard of rom that allows you to unlock by voice.

Dont worry about updates from Sprint. As soon as anything would come out, Devs work them into their ROMS. There should not be anymore for us.
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
Yea, if you are running a custom rom, you won't get update notifications from sprint, as you arent running a sprint rom. Just check your rom's thread for any updates.

Correct. If you were on a sprint sense rom and took an OTA, there's a minimal chance you could lose root [I've seen it happen], so as said, check the thread of your rom for updates/patches.

Any chance this means we'll see some of its Neato software features ported?
(that is, assuming LG won't at some point do something similar)
You may want to put in big red letters at the top not to flash this on our OG.
I know it says so in post 3... but you know how people read.
Just trying to save you from the inevitable "it bricked my phone" posts.
can we flash just the modem?

i think the apk related to some launcher or something needs to be found , as probably the wallpapers will be integrated in the launchers apk.. so u can have more luck as by just looking for the files related to launcher ..

On my e970 this modem broke external (main speaker) audio. No audible ring tones, and music wouldn't play. In call (ear piece) audio worked, but suffered significant delay/latency... But I was testing by calling my wife in another room in the house, both on our microcell... so not the most reliable testing environment. I was running houstonn's rootbox.

@yusuf
You have 2 options
1.flash stock rom with kdz updater.this is the safest, but it has 2 drawbacks,it takes alot and it wipes phone content.
2.use unroot option from superuser app.but this method has been reported to create problems.

So to begin with, you have to upgrade to Jelly Bean before you root
Steps 1)Download LG PC Suite from LG's site
2)Connect your phone
3)Follow the instruction to upgrade your device
To ROOT you have to follow this tutorial
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/4...imus-g-root-android412-jellybean-official.htm
Thanks man
