@yusuf
You have 2 options
1.flash stock rom with kdz updater.this is the safest, but it has 2 drawbacks,it takes alot and it wipes phone content.
2.use unroot option from superuser app.but this method has been reported to create problems.

for OTA unroot not needed....!!
Depends on phone hassan. When i was using stock rom, the update couldn't be installed when i was rooted when unlocked.I was able to see the update,it showed i installed it, but, after reboot, nothing changed. So yes, some need unroot to update.

if its an E975 running JB it sounds like its already rooted seeing as no official 4.1.2 has been released yet for that model unless that's the korean model . I could be wrong though. Wouldn't be the first time. Check in app drawer for super user icon.

You can root it with the method posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2112190
Might take a few tries but it works as I tried it on the E975 KDZ a couple of times.
Then download busybox from market.

Now I think to think of how to fastboot recovery into this phone. Can't seem to be able to enter it..
This LG phone sure is a learning curve for a former Samsung s3 user

Maybe jump on the IRC channel and ask for the E975 freegee if available. It will unlock bootloader and inject cwm for you. Then you just reflash a newer cwm version which can be found in the AT&T section.

Hi,
i have red different things about how to root an e975.
So i have a few questions before to root my phone.
Is there a better method than another to root my optimus G?
Is there a way to unroot it easily later?
If i unroot it, will it be exactly the same as a never-rooted optimus g?
Will it be possible to update officially my phone when an update will be available? (with root? unrooted?)
thanks for your answers
the easiest way is to use motochopper to unroot, after u need to unlock the boot loader with freegee available on the mp...
now you re ready to flash a new ROM.
at your own risk....
ask yourself what u want to achieve with root... if you want to get the last stock lg experience, you don't need to root.

Same as we all did. I understand you are new with lg,but there are things available everywhere.first, you read around, because it may be possible the questions you have may already be answered.
If you would've done your part and READ,you would've found E977 and 975 are identical, the only difference is the lte band.so,all solutions for e975 will work for e977.including rooting and unlocking the bootloader.
If you haven't read about unlocking bootloader, please do it and don't ask.why?because this way you will learn the procedure and you will not risk brick your phone.the easiest way to a thing is not always the safest.a hint for you,but it will be the last: freegee.

What didn't work? Did it say not supported? If so did you upload the boot image it asked for? I'm out of town but tomorrow I'll add support if you uploaded the boot image.

Forget it, sorry. I deleted and installed again and works. Last time after I accepted the first time it didn't show me the recovery names or my phones model. Tried several times but nothing until I deleted every trace of it and downloaded back.
Question to anyone : is there a problem with it on JB? Can I install any recovery I like on my E977? Thank you

Hello guys,
i d like to know whats the procedure for flashing a rom on the OGP e986, as i am new to lg devices and cant really find a thread for the e986..
I should inform you that i am pretty familiar with rom/recovery flashing, rooting devices etc.
So,should i flash any rom for the e98x and then flash the right modem for my device?Or should i flash a rom made for my exact model only?
Also, will i have the ir bluster functionality as on stock rom in custom roms?
Thanks for your time and help.
Ok so i succesfully rooted using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2362657 ,and also backed my efs and changed my recovery using FreeGee..So im ready to start flashing roms..Any answers to my previous questions?Thanx

When you launch freegee it automatically downloads supported devices list..If e986 was not supported it would automatically exit..Try for yourself.

Word, i said try this, I did not say it would work. It's just a root exploit, it's not like its going to kill your phone Amigo. If it works it works, If it doesn't, well search for something else. The same root that i used for jellybean, I
used for KitKat. The choice is yours! I cannot confirm it simply because i do not own that device. Simply trying
