They pushed a PRL auto update to my phone... Now I am not roaming anymore. They did this shortly after hitting 5GB for this pay period.
Screw you sprint. I'm putting it back. I have been roaming for a few months now and racking up a ton of data. They have not contacted me about it at all.
So if you guys are force roaming your phones, be it to have them kick you or just because, check your PRLs.
Off-network Roaming: The primary use of your Device must be for domestic purposes within the Sprint-owned network. Domestic means use in the 50 United States and U.S. Territories (except Guam). Sprint reserves the right, without notice, to deny, terminate, modify, disconnect or suspend service if off-network usage in a month exceeds: (1) voice: 800 min. or a majority of minutes; or (2) data: 300 megabytes or a majority of kilobytes. The display on your device may not always be on and will not indicate whether you will incur roaming charges. You can monitor usage online through My Account. Roaming is not available with single-band phones, or to customers who reside or whose primary use is outside an area covered by the Nationwide Sprint Network. Sprint may limit or terminate service if you move outside of the Sprint owned-network.
Not saying it's right. Just saying it's what you agreed to when you signed that dotted line. Read your terms closer and you will be less surprised. This is why it can be worth it to pay a little more for a better network with better roaming terms.

change your PRL again and maybe run an AOSP based type ROM? I don't think you can update profile/prl with those ROMs.

FLynn, the prls you referenced appear to all be Sprint PRL's. 00002 PRL is an always roaming PRL. Even when you're not "technically" roaming. You are. 100% all the time on the Verizon network. If you're shopping for a termination letter....I can't think of a better way to get one.
The PRL I use is also always roaming as well.

Here you go. What happen today on my phone by sprint, all the sudden my phone pop up with android on screen and Downloading
It says " don't turn off device on target".
I don't know on the last written On Target??. Immediately I pull off battery then back to normal.
Just may be I thought like yours, because I use roaming all time this month around 6GB.. Either sprint to push pro update or something else.

Nope. Not what happened to mine. That is a regular download mode. However. Check your device info. I have a hunch. Does it say 4.2? Only if you are on TW based ROM.
I discovered this when my device displayed a triangle next to my signal bars after a call. I put the device in airplane mode then back. Thought all was well until I couldn't load any Web based apps. Went and checked my PRL and it had been force updated.

I think I'm gonna set my phone to 24/7 roam on verizon to get my $10 worth then.
Not important to me. Neither is 3g for that matter. I spend 90% of the day within reach of wifi. And when I'm out and about, I don't mind the slow 3g speeds (500k). I don't do anything on my phone that is bandwidth intensive.

Actually the first month after the Epic's release date, Sprint store sales reps were telling customers the additional $10 was specifically for either using 4G or to bring 4G to your area within the next 6 months. That's the only reason I want 4G, the company allowed a huge amount of reps to sell the phone with that sales pitch. To try and quell the angst, Sprint implemented the charge across all "smart devices".
Closest 4G area is ~400mi away from me.
4G area is pointless in my area. I've rarely ever gotten it, and all it does is drain battery anyway. I'm curious to see how good LTE will be, and if it'll actually be in my area for once.

Wink wink. . . . nudge nudge. We all know the 10 dollars is for 4g no matter what Sprint calls it now. It ABSOLUTELY was for 4g service in the beginning before everyone complained and Sprint decided to just make everyone pay the fee, as the only phones that had to pay were 4g phones.
Ummm...cause it's fast. Being able to stream youtube, internet radio and HBO at my work desk is kind of awesome. Hope LTE is even better, and just as unlimited.

4G is WiMax, which is a completely separate radio. What you're asking is like saying, "Is there a way to enable Bluetooth roaming". Clearwire is the only WiMax provider anyways, so even if there was a way, there's no where else to run to.
there isnt anything else to roam off of....
short answer, not doable in any way shape form or fashion

Correction:
For data there's no set limit but around what you stated is a reasonable assumption. The 300 MB limit is for laptop cards and data-only plans. As for minutes, if more than half are used roaming, for 3 months in a row, you get a warning letter. Then you get the boot. I'm a former sprint employee who also received the warning letter lol

You can force roam as long as you have root. However, you'll be roaming at 1x speeds. There are PRL's that will allow you to roam at 3G speeds. Check out the PRL thread.
After changing your PRL...it'll take a couple of months to rack it up, but 2-4 months vs. 24 month contract...your choice.
Download a giant torrent while forcing data roam (Roam Control). They'll kick you of in one month.

I just realized that I most likely will NEVER get LTE where I live, I don't even have 4G. So, what is the point of waiting to buy an LTE capable phone if it's never coming to me anyway? For market penetration, as previously mentioned VZW or possibly AT&T would be your best bet.

Hmm.. I just checked some maps and it seems Lebanon doesn't have any actual Sprint towers. Your city is right next to some towers that are getting NV upgrades though but none in the actual city.
It might be a Shentel area, but I'm not certain. Shentel is a subsidiary / partner of sprint and is also doing "NV" roll-out in coordination with sprint.
Actually I do think you're in a shentel market as Lebanon is not far from Harrisburg which IS a shentel market. In that case, considering there's no Sprint towers in that entire region of Harrisburg and extending to Lebanon... you will probably get LTE and NV upgrades from Shentel.

You do have something there. Your area is part of Shentel as I've stated. Shentel is a subsidiary/partner of sprint and is also part of the network vision roll out. Your area is serviced by Alcatel-Lucent and is making steady progress in Harrisburg which also is literally next door to Lebanon, PA. You WILL get LTE 800mhz/1900mhz and likely CW 2.5ghz and NV upgraded 3g. All sprint and affiliates will be upgraded to that standard. It takes time but last check, Shentel is making good progress.
Here is more info on your area..

Having different brands can be easier than trying to explain the differences between your products. For instance, Sprint's offerings have features like roaming, nights and weekends, mobile to mobile, LTE, etc, while Virgin Mobile doesn't. It's probably less confusing for the average consumer to view two brands than to have Sprint explain, "This is a 300 minute plan, but it's not the same as these other plans because it's missing these features." Instead, Sprint gets to market VM as a full service provider to people who don't know what they're missing.
