You may be using it wrong.... If there's no device that shows up in the drop down menu, there won't be a result.
If I type in 'Sk', I already get the dropdown for only the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1399

I typed in this term: "Samsung Skyrocket" and pressed enter.
But thanks for your assistance.
"Samsung Skyrocket" doesn't work for me either, because there's more between 'Samsung' and 'Skyrocket' in the boardname. So it doesn't recognize it.

With the ongoing issues surrounding lost IMEI's and lost phone functionality due to a lost IMEI. It may be in all of our interests to backup the NV Data to our phones. I have provided in this thread information on how to do so. Hope it helps =)

Thanks for the guide. I got as far as starting the backup in QPST, but got an error.
SPC given could not unlock the phone. The phone will not respond for 10 seconds.
Guess I need to try on an insecure kernel, but can't find one for our phone. The two that used to be on samsung-updates.com are dead links as of right now.
I got the same SPC lock error.
I believe that is because you need the MSL. This should work for you phone credit to shiftr182 for this guide.

Thanks. Got a little further. It starts the backup, but now fails at 16% with "Roaming Lists could not be read."
Tried on both stock and insecure kernel. Tried PRL/Profile update + reboot for kicks, no change. Not sure what else to try, googling doesn't help.
edit: Do you know of anyone on Verizon that has successfully backed up? I checked their forum and they only have a guide for doing the IMEI injection. I'm assuming the 7 successful Verizon restores you have listed in your original thread are restores by injection and not from a backup?

That is correct 6 were through injection 1 was through a backup. There are however plenty of Verizon folks who were able to do the backup without any problems. They also however didn't need their MSIL and were able to use the default spc of 000000. I will have to dig a bit deeper for Sprint. I prefer us all safe and not just 3 carriers. Thank you for your efforts

The option in mskips toolkit. Cant say wheather it works(as I haven't had to restore it) but it does a efs backup now. I know the imei isn't there anymore (don't know that I necessarily believe that) but don't hurt to try.

I realize this is the Sprint forum and I have a US Cellular phone my Google search landed me here. I am getting this exact message and was wondering if you have been able to get past this and get a complete backup of your IMEI. If so could you describe how you did it hopefully the info would be helpful for us USCC users.

I have followed the directions in the first post perfeclyt and i can see my phone in backup section and under Port (it shows my phone)
I enter my SPC and hit "Start Button" to start backup procedure and it unlocks phone and starts to read phone and backing up.
it makes it to 47% every time and says

Errors = Received an invalid command from the phone

Ever since I rooted my phone I've been stuck on EDGE, I can't run 3g or 4g at all I havethe Cynogenmod 10.1 Mod. Which is dope. I had a Nexus 4 before this so it's tight but what's going on with the service. I know I am not the only one it's taking me like 10 hours to get the nightly upgrades and I don't know what to do. Can someone please help and maybe hit me up with a link to the original romantic for the Samsung Galaxy S3 too. Just so I have it. I have to switch back if I'm going to be stuck in 2g forever. Please help me ASAP. Thanks.
I think your IMEI is gone. System settings > About phone > status.
Check your imei , if it's 0 then search it in the Dev section for the nvrestore and read up. It's an s3 issue there are about 150 threads on the matter.

I think you're confused. You need to fix the issue with IMEI restore other wise nothing will fix it. You need to odin back to factory sesttings and then use the NV restore to get back to having "4G"

Or just reboot if you still have your IMEI
Alright so first off I already already read about 20 threads on this topic. The problem is that the phone is stuck on the Samsung screen when I try to turn it on. I can go into recovery mode (Home+Down+Power), and ODIN recognizes the phone. When I put the phone in my computer ODIN recognizes it. Now one thing I did when I rooted this phone by accident was put the .tar file in the bootloader part of odin and not the PDA part.
Additional information: Sprint version, US
When I use ODIN to try to load the stock recovery it saus there is no PIT partition
Search around the original Dev threads. I believe there is a post in there that contains the pit files needed for odening the phone.

I'm experiencing the same problem but my phone has no warranty. I bought it some place else. I googled about the problem but no luck so far. I just find it weird that a lot of people are experiencing the same problem recently.. I found this

Need more info. How did you root, what files did you use. Can you get into download mode(phone powered off, press volume down+home+power)? If you can get into download mode then use odin and the correct tar file to reflash it to stock. I'll try to dig up some links.

Sch-s960L help!!
It seems that there are a number of Straight Talk users who didn't bother to read before flashing. Many have asked but so far it doesn't look like anyone has volunteered the stock firmware.
However, I saw a few forum posts stating that SlimBean worked for them. Might as well try it, nothing to lose at this point.
what is this and how do I use it
I am not sure who but somebody from this forums sent me this file com.android.vending-423.apk. Who ever it was thank I am sure you were trying to help. However I don't know what to do with it. I cant nothing shows on my screen to download a converter off playstore so it hasn't helped but thanks anyway. if somebody could convert it for me I would be grateful. if in fact it is meant for my phone.
That's an apk for the playstore, click it and it installs. It will do absolutely nothing to fix your brick.
Default [Q] Phone won't boot, enter Recovery Mode, nor connect to PC - what do?
I followed a root-guide a couple of weeks ago and my phone worked perfectly.
I have no memory of what ROM I used, nor do I remember if I flashed a Kernel or not. I'm pretty new at this.
Now, today, my phone sent a notification that a new firmware update was available. Stupid as I am I just press "install" right away. Not much later my phone tried to reboot and suddenly was stuck at the Samsung logo screen. I tried pulling out the battery to reboot and it still wouldn't work. If I connected it to my PC it shows a battery but the spinning arrow-thingy is frozen.
After searching these forums and other places I found several guides on how to fix stuff like this, by either flashing with a new kernel - or rom or w/e I don't know - or going into recovery mode and do something funky. The problem is that I can't reach recovery mode at all, and when I enter download mode it's just frozen at "Downloading..." and I can't get it to connect to my PC at all (tried both with and without Kies). In Odin the ID:COM cells won't update when I connect my phone.
Do you guys have any idea how to resolve this? Do I have to take it to a service centre?
Edit: The phone is out of battery, suddenly, apparently, so I tried to charge it, but that doesn't work either. What the **** has happened to my phone? Please help if you can!

I've got the same problem as the listed above. I did root my Phone (it's an Galaxy Trend) and then after i wanted to install an custom rom... It was the kitkat 4.1 or something? But then after when i was about to reboot my phone did not start at all. The samsung logo pops-up and it is an yellow triangle on the very bottom. And i've read so many forums and threads and tried various usb modes, adb recovery tools, recovery bootloader's and so on. But none of them does work. And i can't bring my phone to service either. And for a fact i did use Odin and it did work great when i rooted but what should i do? I can boot into download mode and use odin to "transfer" an new rom/zip file but since i can't boot into recovery mode so how can i ever start my phone? I could continue only if my phone would boot into recovery mode.. and i did wipe/reset factory data too before the phone wouldn't start if that's any help for you. And i have all backup for my phone on my pc, all my system data, sd memory, apps and all data i could backup. Please help me, thanks in forward!

well because galaxy ace 2 is the same phone and system as galaxy trend and to root trend you have to follow galaxy ace 2 guide to succed rooting trend. it is simply just the same phone and you dont find any solutions if you search the web for trend because it onlycome solutions for galaxy ace.
No its totally different in hardware. Ace 3 is more like trend but definitely not ace 2...

If the phones are different, then you are risking a lot. Just because some method worked does not guarantee that all corresponding ones would. Do not complain if your phone gets bricked.

Apologies if it sounded sarcastic. It was more out of concern than out of sarcasm. I have seen newbies fumbling around and flashing files of vastly different phones and then lamenting their loss. Just wanted to make sure you knew what you were getting into.
Anyways, I do not possess this phone so I can not help you further in this matter. But it would be prudent if you edited the main post to be more clear about your situation. :good:
