[Q] Custom rom's for Htc Desire HD usage votes

Hi all,
Very new to this forum and android. Last december 2010 I got a new Desire HD which I have started using now lol!!! previous phone was a nokia n96!!
This there a voting list for custom roms for the Desire HD to see which rom's are mostly installed by fellow members.
I have had my phone unlocked by t-mobile, I really want to install a custom rom, currently it has 1.72.
not sure which is the best if any rom to install. I have been looking at Android Revolution HD 6.1.5 which seems good to me.
your help and feedback on this topic would greatly be appreciate.
many thanks
install rom
having your phone unlocked won't allow you to install custom roms, your phone has to be rooted with s-off before you can install roms, there are tutorials in this forum on how to do this and what software you need ie aahk, multitool etc. also search is your friend but do read the tutorials then read them again.
[Poll] which rom do you have
Threads like this only lead to flame wars. A search would have showed you this.

thank you very much for your help

can you help me?
thanks
Best regards

Hello and welcome to XDA!
First of all, you need to learn how to root your phone. This can be a tricky process, but you will find many helpful people here.
After you do that, you can install different Android versions on your phone, also called ROMs.
The 4.0 version of Android, known as Ice Cream Sandwich, is currently in Alpha stage, so you might want to wait a few weeks/months until it gets more stable. Until then, you can try many of the ROMs in the Android Development section.
I'll come back with some links to tutorials
Edit: As promised, here are the two guides which I consider are easy enough for a newbie to consider:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928160
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833965
I would recommend thoroughly reading the guides, making sure you understand *everything* and informing yourself about ADB and rooting first, though. Remember, Google is your friend.
The reason is that if you mistake something, you might end up with a nice HTC-branded paperweight. But follow the steps as written and read beforehand about what you are doing, and you'll be a-OK.

[Q] HTC One X custom rom installation help

Hi there, I have an HTC one X (international version), and I would like to install 4.3, as I really dislike sense 4, its laggy and uses up way too much of the system resources. I don't have root access yet. If someone could take me through a step by step process from rooting the phone through installing 4.3 jellybean OS, that would be really appreciated. In really simple words, and really detailed, I want to know exactly what to do as I don't want to brick my phone.
I can't believe this...
IS A SIMPLE SEARCH really TOO MUCH TO ASK !?!?
IF you had just tried searching you would find this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069904
It's pinned to the TOP of the GENERAL SECTION...

[Q] Does this guide work for rooting One X 4.2.2?

Hey guys !
I'm brand new to rooting, but since i've heard you can make your phone faster (games, apps, etc) i have decided that i want to root it
anyway, since english isn't my native language, i would prefer a video guide instead of only text-based.
The problem is, up until an hour ago all the guides were how to root your one x from android 4.1.1 and down, and since i have 4.2.2 i wouldn't risk having my One X bricked.
Now, i found these two guides, and i just want to ask if it will work on my HTC One X with android 4.2.2? (Btw this is my first post so i can't post links yet )
First guide (Easy): www(DOT)youtube(DOT)com/watch?v=5tobHDQrmFk
Second guide (In-Depth): www(DOT)youtube(DOT)com/watch?v=oRthEA2zPEc
Could you maybe also tell me, which guide i should try...? because i just don't want my phone bricked
