what is my ruu??
There is no ruu for you....if you want to go back to stock you need a stock nandroid backup
Get one here

CONFUSED.
Sorry guys but I dont know what to do. I dont know where to start and what to install. Could someone give me clear instructions on what to like step by step instructions. I dont have a back up of the stock rom because since I bought it, its already customised. Everything is different on this phone. The first thing I want to do is revert everything back to stock. Even how you capture a photo, it's different. It's way far from the HTC of my friend, it's like my phone is an Xperia phone and not HTC. Really appreciate you guys posting links but I dont know where to start and what to do and things or files that I need. Already downloaded Hasoons HTC One X kit but there's something there that I dont know if its reallt right because the bootloader of my phone is already unlocked and to flash a recovery, the rom of this phone is already customised that is why I'm having a hard time understanding the instructions and procedure. PLEASE HELP ME, PLEASE.
Download the 3.14.720 nandroid backup from the thread i linked you to.
Unpack the nandroid to the sdcard of the phone looking similar to this :
Clockworkmod\backup\*the time and date folder*\*the unpacked backup files*
Then you have to flash the boot.img from that nandroid backup (find it in the backup folder)
Then make a FULL wipe in the recovery and restore the nandroid backup

Haha the post is ment for bumblebee, Mr Anderson is helped i guess because posted here the last time in januari
I'm a newbie but i just bought an htc one x international version and i guess from my constant flashing im totally stuck on the htc bootscreen and im sure i've tried everything there is to try but nothing although the roms all flash as well as the boot image, i've given up and am going to return my phone back to factory state and i've read i need an RUU but i don't want to flash the wrong one and i don't know which is the right one for my phone:
CID: HTC_622 not sure what that means but if someone can point me in the right direction or tell me how to even tell the proper one from the cid#. i'd really appreciate it.
please and thank you
paul

Why sending him to a whole new thread what will confuse him as hell, as 1 command is enough....that confuses me. That thread is no holder of ruu's .........those are nandroid backups. Completely different

It's a list of RUUs, and he can just search his CID (with Ctrl + F) to get the download. Thought that would get him his RUU faster rather than having to wait for somebody to find out for him. Apologies for any harm done.

No mate its NOT a list of ruu's....its a list of nandroid backups. Installing them is completely different from a ruu ! No harm is done mate, don't worry. But its kinda wrong info.
A ruu, Rom Update Utility is an .exe file which you eexecute from the pc to the phone in bootloader mode with a locked bootloader which will flash back everything to stock for you. A nandroid backup has to be installed like a rom. Flashing the boot.img, wiping the phone and restoring the nandroid with a custom recovery

Yes that is possible, but we need his main version to determine his hboot version. If he is on a older hboot than 1.12 then a 3.14 ruu will not work. If its released in the first place. Because of the big difference in updating the hboot from such a low one to a very high one. It all stands and falls depending the version number.
And when he is still on a 1.12 hboot we can't use a 3.14 nandroid backup

From the command prompt on the pc in the fastboot folder
and once i find the proper RUU is there a good simple tutorial in here somewhere? this is my second phone in as many weeks i recently bricked my fav phone my galaxy s2 and dont want that to happen to this one cause new unlocked phones aren't cheap.

looks like im just restoring from a backup (nandroid) i'm going to try but i have tried to restore from 3 backups on my phone through cwm already and im still stuck at the htc boot screen hope this works.
hi.
i tried flashing a rom yesterday, and after my failed attempt on repacking kernel my phone wont flash anything.
i tried relocking and unlocking bootloader again and reinstalled the recovery.
also tried formatting most of the stuff.
tried following a solution to a similar issue here without any luck.
anyone have a clue on how to fix this?
i put the recovery log in attachments.
thanks in advance.

I was hoping someone could help me, I just downloaded the Resurrection Remix ROM (from this thread for my HTC One X. I have root, unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP about 8 months ago, and finally decided to flash a custom ROM onto the phone. I have been following the guide found in this forum post in order to flash the rom. However when I go to install the zip package, I receive the error:
assert failed: getprop("ro.bootloader") == "1.28.0000" || getprop("ro.bo[TEXT ENDS HERE, CAN'T SEEM TO SCROLL RIGHT IN THE LOG)
E:Erroer in filepath/Resurrection_remix..
(Status 7)
If anyone could please provide some assistance it would be much appreciated, its a UK phone, so should be the international version of the One X right? I can't seem to work out where I have gone wrong and don't want to take any more steps in case I brick the phone
Thanks.
Edit: OK so I followed the "restore" option in TWRP, and restored a backup of my phone's ROM so at least it's safe now. But if someone could still point out where I'm going wrong or has any advice it would be welcomed, I'm sure it's probably something obvious that I am missing. Perhaps something to do with the kernel?

Thanks Thant. The latest version of TWRP for endeavoru appears to only be 2.6.3 though? techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/endeavoru
After a search I managed to find this file: androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407577118
However after flashing it, it now just hangs on the splash page when entering recovery. I have tried clearing the cache but it still hangs.
Also I accidentally installed a recovery for another phone model earlier today, through TWRP recovery. Is there any way I can remove this in case it is causing problems? Thankfully my device still seems to function fine.
I've just flashed 2.6.3.0 and attempted to install both CyanogenMod & the previous ROM mentioned, however I am still receiving the same error.
UPDATE: I flashed the unofficial TWRP 2.7.x from here, however I am receiving USB-OTG errors, I guess because my hboot is only version 1.12.00. Are there are any alternatives?

I've been trying to install a custom rom on my hox and have had very little luck. I read that to install the CM10.1 rom I had to flash a new boot.img which I did successfully. when I tried to install the rom I got a different error than usual so I decided to just give up. I went ahead and did a factory reset from CWM and cleared the caches and then tried to restore my backup rom image. but when I did, it gave me an error "unable to mount sd". I was able to fix the SD problem but the method I used made me return to stock recovery and then install TWRP. This means I lost my backup of the stock rom.
I think I need to flash a stock boot.img over the one I tried to use for CM10.1 but I'm not sure.
hopefully someone can help. thanks.

to flash the boot image, I extracted the rom zip file and removed the boot image. I went into the cmd and typed "flashboot flash boot boot.img".
to flash the rom, I moved the roms zip file onto the storage of the device (drag and drop) and then went into CWM and cleared the caches, did a factory reset, and then selected the zip file to be installed.
here is a picture of the error I got when I tried to install the rom: see attachment
the error is on the second line of code in the updater-script file. other attempts to install the rom gave me an error on the first line until I read that the first line had to be deleted for it to work on the hox.

CWM might be the reason the rom installation was aborted but I just want to return to stock. the stock rom is installed, I think the only problem is that the boot image is wrong. I searched around and can't find a stock boot image. I saw some tutorials on using RUU to do a restore but it seems a lot more complicated than just flashing the stock boot image. if you think RUU is the best method, please help me pick the correct RUU.

May be it's a bad download? Download the CM rom zip again and then try to flash it! Use the latest Philz touch recovery...

I tried using the 'fastboot getvar version-main' command it doesn't give me a number, it only says "version-main: " which is weird.
anyway the ruu I'm considering is called: "RUU_EVITA_UL_ICS_40_S_Cingular_US_2.20.502.7_Radio_0.19as.32.09.11_2_10.105.32.25L_release_271865_signed"

After trying to install all the stuff I found on the internet, I really got stucked and I cannot go on without getting back the official version (I just need to use my phone back, because it took 4 months to the motherboard to arrive here).
When I power on the phone, the HTC quietly brilliant appears and a red message too ("This version is for development and bla bla bla"). Then, it goes to the main screen, where it says:
"
*** RELOCKED ***
ENDEAVORU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.12.0000
CPDL-none
MICROP-none
RADIO-NONE
...
"
My CID is unknown now, I don't know why, but my original CID is HTCCN701.
I don't really know what to do. When I run "fastboot flash boot boot.img" with the RUU, it gives me error (batery low, even though I recharged it all night long or 000000008), and when I try it again, it runs for 20> minutes and say "too many connections".
If anyone have any tips for me, please just send it. I've waited a lot for this motherboard to arrive and now I can't use the phone. :/

I have already tried it, but it does not work. Now the phone says "battery low" and I can't even charge my cellphone, when I plug it on the usb or wall charger, it turns on and stays like this.
I already gone to FlashBoot and Power Down, but when I plug it again, it turns on and does not charge!
I'm lost... :/

Could you help me with the flash custom rom? I really don't know what to use and what version.
I know for sure that I have to install one recovery and then the rom, but I'm newbie and I don't know exactly what to do.
Depends on what rom you want that's something you have to decide for yourself. If you made a decision on which one you want to try you can come back here

Hey man, I've decided that I want to install this rom (the phone is already unlocked and I have a TWRT smooth instaled)
teamandroid.com/rom/slim-dragon-ultimate-rom-htc-one-x-android-4-2-2-jelly-bean/
But I don't know if my CID supports it (or if I'm talking ****), because I don't know if the hboot (v 1.12.0000) that is already installed supports it.
How can I know if this seed will work on my cellphone? My CID is HTCCN701, and my main version is 2.18.1407.3.
Can you help me?
No sense 5 roms and kitkat roms will not work, you need a higher hboot for that !

Please check the facts first before you send a user into the woods.....hboot 1.12 does not support the latest roms.
@FSCosta do you have a stock backup ?

Could you gently help me to install a higher hboot from the information I wrote above?
I'm looking....but it's a very rare software number. So we need a firmware or a stock backup

I have found this posts:
tomsawyer.me/325.html#.UzHgm_ldW2a (use translate, it's not the best translation but it's possivle to understand).
The version he claims to be is HBOOT is 1.36... What do you think about it?
Is that a website ?

Yes, I cannot send websites, so I removed the beginning!
yep downloaded it, i was still on my phone (now on laptop)....it seems genuine. all file sizes match oke. lets flash it
EDIT 1 : writing a tut now....make sure you start with a full battery !
EDIT 2 :
- Download the zip file and rename it to firmware.zip and place it in the fastboot folder on the pc
- Relock the bootloader with ths command :
fastboot oem lock
- Then type :
fastboot oem rebootRUU (watch the capital letters)
- Then type :
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
Sometimes flashing for the first time doesn't work, so flash firmware.zip again if the outcome is not OKE
Then type fastboot reboot (the phone probably wont boot, hold the power button + vol down button to get back to the bootloader)
Once in the bootloader you check if th hboot has changed, if so you can unlock the bootloader and flash a custom recovery and also a new clean rom (yes any of your liking)

Ok, I'll try it. Do you have any tutorial that I must follow? I've been looking for them but I'm not pretty sure which one must I use.
One I found said: rename the file to firmware.zip, relock the phone, reboot with RUU param (fastboot oem rebootRUU) and then install the firmware... is it ok?
refresh...i have written it out for you

Man, it has worked smooth! THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
I decided to install the VENOM viper X version...
They say: "MUST PERFORM FULL WIPE!!!!!
MUST FLASH BOOT.IMG IN ZIP!!!!!"
The steps I must take are:
Extract the Boot.IMG in the rar file to your fast boot folder
Set up phone in boot mode
Connect to PC
Fastboot erase cache
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot erase cache
Boot phone in recovery mode
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Wipe dalvik cache
Install zip from SD card -> pick rom
Is i correct?
Thank you for patience. I really appreciate your efforts and time.
Yeah flash the boot.img and go into the recovery
Make indeed a full wipe (wipe all you can except sdcard) so that means caches, data, system.....
Install the rom.zip and the installer will start. Make sure you choose the option "update only" and the full rom install. Nice choice you won't regret it.
I can also recommend some nice themes which you can find in my signature
