There is no ruu for you....if you want to go back to stock you need a stock nandroid backup

CONFUSED.
Sorry guys but I dont know what to do. I dont know where to start and what to install. Could someone give me clear instructions on what to like step by step instructions. I dont have a back up of the stock rom because since I bought it, its already customised. Everything is different on this phone. The first thing I want to do is revert everything back to stock. Even how you capture a photo, it's different. It's way far from the HTC of my friend, it's like my phone is an Xperia phone and not HTC. Really appreciate you guys posting links but I dont know where to start and what to do and things or files that I need. Already downloaded Hasoons HTC One X kit but there's something there that I dont know if its reallt right because the bootloader of my phone is already unlocked and to flash a recovery, the rom of this phone is already customised that is why I'm having a hard time understanding the instructions and procedure. PLEASE HELP ME, PLEASE.
Download the 3.14.720 nandroid backup from the thread i linked you to.
Unpack the nandroid to the sdcard of the phone looking similar to this :
Clockworkmod\backup\*the time and date folder*\*the unpacked backup files*
Then you have to flash the boot.img from that nandroid backup (find it in the backup folder)
Then make a FULL wipe in the recovery and restore the nandroid backup

You can do the latter but you may need a goldcard and a locked bootloader.

Yes, that's the right one. But with that one you have to do 2 OTA's.
Here's insink71's stock MetroPCS rom : http://androidforums.com/wildfire-s...1-rooted-apps2sd-metropcs-only-marvelc-3.html
It's version 1.1 and it's in post 116. Caveat: this didn't work for my phone after the second OTA, but I have a weird-ass phone, so it might work for you.
My solution was to use a nandroid another forum member had posted, ran it through dsixda's kitchen (to get it rooted and such), then themed with UOT kitchen. It took a lot of searching, then reading to understand all that, but it was worth it. I now have a nice rom running on my phone. Do the reading and you'll be surprised at how much you learn.
Good luck.
Thank you so much you have been such a big help
Hi experts,
i know this is very simple for you.. please help....
i have an orange version of HOX, which i have rooted(only root, no cust roms).
now to get OTA, i know that i will have to lock the bootloader again.
but my question is... i have been reading a lot about RUU... so do i need to do anythng there??? or just lock the bootloader?
please give me specific link to download and follow...please...
BTW my speck -
HTC One X, it is the UK Orange version, and i live and use it in India.
android ver - 4.04
sense - 4.1
softwre no - 2.17.61.3
htc sdk api - 4.23

No you don't need to flash ruu
Only relock bootloader
Also if youve installed cmw or twrp so any other recovery ...you have to install stock recovery ...
And you have to temporarily unroot by using the app ota root keeper
1.flash stock recovery
2.backup root then delete it (nit the backup )
3.lock bootloader
4.install ota update
You dont need to lock the bootloader, just flash the stock recovery and unroot the rom. That's all

Or a quick search here on xda is enough ! Don't be lazy now !!!
not tht he is lazy.. i think we noobs are just scared tht we dun scre* up the phone...
i will try to find it and post a link here....
but just 1 question.... can i just install any stock recovery tht i find for HTC one X, or it need to be somethng specific to my model... for ex version, CID etc..
You need to flash the stock recovery from the right base. Like the 2.17 or 1.29 base.
And the lazy part was just a little hint that everything is really easy to find here on xda. There are enough guides to follow....check the stickies in the android dev section and you will see that everything has been covered there !
i really.. really did search for recovery img for ENDEAVORU, softwre no - 2.17.61.3, HBOOT - 1.12.0000
Radio - 2.1204.135.20
CID - ORANG001
i seriously dont seem to find it... i do find 2.17.XXX.xx though
please give me a link if someone has it.
also i will be using the ALL in One tool and i am hoping thts the best method.

It's in the first post. If you scroll and read a bit you see the download links for the recovery's
You need the 2.17 recovery ..the rest of the numbers are not important.
hi all.. is there a way to find out when CID - ORANG001 JB update is released so that i can unroot at that time?
i googled but didnt find an answer... is there a site or specific thread?
Yes keep an eye on this thread !

hey experts...
i am gonna unroot my HOX today....
so i have the 2.17 recovery...
which i can flash....
i have been reading a lot of tutorials whr thy finally flash RUU, but i dont need that as i already have stock.
i just need to unroot...
so what exactly do i do here?
1 - Flash Stock recovery
2 - Fastboot oem lock
Then what... what is the step that gets it unrooted??
is locking the boot loader enough???
i hope you understand what exactly i need here.....
i am doing all this just so that i get OTA!
Thanks in advance
BTW.. i also have SU installed.. do i need to uninstall it,
also as per MarcelHofs, i dont need to lock bootloader... so just flash stock recovery, and unroot...
so hows the unroot process exactly?
Flash recovery.img
Erase cache
Reboot remove supersu app(actually just to do this step before flashing the recovery)
Reboot and you are done.

Hey there, I am having issues trying to install CM 10.1 on my One X.
To start, I sort of messed up, hit the wrong button on accident and somehow wiped my entire OS from my phone and can't remember how to install one back. If someone has insight on how to bring the original android OS back, that would be helpful. Okay, now to real issue.
This is the issue I have trying to install CM 10.1 on my phone.
Bootloader is unlocked and the phone is rooted.
Once I flash the boot.img and go back into TWRP to install from SD card, it tells me
"assert failled: getprop("ro.product.device") == "endeavoru" 11 getprop("r
E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/cm-10.1.0-endeavoru.zip
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/cm-10.1.0-endeavoru.zip'
Any help would be great!

Hope this will help to answer.
First unlock the boatloader via the HTC dev site then you flash a custom recovery (philz touch recovery for instance) and in there you make a nandroid backup.
And please read up first on how things work exactly, there are many good tutorials here on xda hox forum to guide you all the way. and always start with a 100% charged battery !!!

@Mr Hofs you are really awesome man... Thumbs Up brother :good:
I have taken the backup now...
So can you tell me any good roms which are stable i will do rest of the things by reading.
One question : Is is necessary to root android to do custom roms ?
No custom roms are pretty much always rooted.
I won't recommend any roms, you have to read the threads a bit and make a decision on your own (rom comparison threads are forbidden on xda)
Look for what you might like, stock but rooted, aosp, sense with lots of tweaks or maybe a very stripped down rom......
All personal choices
Edit :
How do i say this....you can root your stock rom or flash a custom rom which is already rooted. The phone itself is not really rooted. Root applies to the software that is flashed on the phone.
Well i have checked my phone now it's rooted. Have superuser and titanium backup too.
I have taken backup of my original rom and save it on my laptop.
Now i want to select the rom with stability, good ui and performance.

as you have mention above the link of root.zip, its of HTC One XL(non-tegra device)
if you have htc one xl then you are in wrong place..
He has the quad-core. The XL variant has no 1.73 hboot and 4.19.720 software number. So he is in the right place
Easiest way now is to restore the nandroid backup you probably didn't make before messing around with the superuser.zip !

You need to flash the boot.img via fastboot, make a full wipe in the recovery and install the CM.zip and the appropriate GAPPS......

is there any way to go back to my original firmware? cause i really loved htc's own rom, it was really beautiful.
if possible pls give detailed instructions.
thanks for bring my phone back from dead
Well you need a stock nandroid backup that has the same main version number 4.19.720 and restore it. As long as you don't have that you can't go back to stock. But there are custom roms based on pure stock looks. You can install that too.
good roms based on htc sense

i have a friend who has same version-main: 4.19.720.1, like mine. but the problem he has s-on in his phone
if i install clockworkmod recovery v5.8.4.0 in his phone without unlocking it, and then make a nandroid back up and transfer that to mine, would
that help me?
if not what should i do, pls give some detailed guide, cause i really dont like cyangenmod, and the other stock looking roms have the installation guide that is quite complex for me.
thanks

You can't install anything like that via fastboot if phone is locked...you need to be unlocked and for the latest cm roms like cm 11 that recovery is too old... He can unlock too, flash a recovery make a nandroid backup without flashing another Rom and there is your backup
Gesendet von meinem HTC One X mit Tapatalk
Other roms installs the same way as CM. Flash the boot.img make a full wipe and install the rom.zip....done
Here is the nandroid backup for HTC 038 4.19 - https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0B3ipMMzpaJW4bGpMVTRNRHFpOUk/edit
But they're seperate files and you need to download them all and place them in the right folder.

i have flashed the android revolution hd rom. this rom is the perfect one, just the same as htc stock rom.you guys were really helpful.i would like to know many things about kernel and kernel flasher. what kernels actually does? i tried search the forum but couldn't find a simple post about it.
i like using android, and i wanna know most of it if i can.......thanks
Simple explanation, the kernel and hboot function sort of as a bios of a pc. It interacts with the software.
A kernel flasher....you don't need that if you flash the boot.img (kernel) straight from fastboot. The flasher does the same.
