My PRL is seemingly stuck on “2000”. I am not able to force roam on Verizon using these instructions http://qbking77.com/development/how-to-force-roam-on-verizon-with-samsung-galaxy-s-iii-and-note-ii/ or even update to sprints latest unless of course 2000 is the latest. I am creating the TEST.prl on the root just like the instructions say but its having no affect when I do a PRL write. Any ideas?

Roam Control Dev. is making the note 2 his priority now. It now supports the S4 and I'm looking forward to the update. Honestly, try flashing it with wifi and data off. It has never failed me once. Try it out

How do you know the developer of roam control is working on making the note 2 compatible with roam control? I paid for that app, and emailed the developer a couple of times and never got any responses.

Yeah I couldn't get mine to change from 2000 either until I took LuCkyCn's suggestion and did it with mobile data/wifi off. Took the first time after that.

Yeah I had to turn off mobile data and it worked after that. It still may take a few tries but it will eventually change to the prl you want.
I may be wrong, but I don't have any issues with 1.66. The only reason why I don't have sound issues is because I'm using 5.28 stable slim. The kernel did increase my volume dramatically. You can find 1.66 in the post toward the end of his thread.

I'm not sure I'm posting this in the right forum and I'm sure if I'm not then I will get flamed/moved to the correct spot and hopefully not lifetime banned.
That being said, I know Tmonews recently announced that our phone will be getting wifi calling on or around November 13th. Thats a long way away. I do not get service in my house OR at work. So effectively until I get some form of wifi calling my phone is useless for anything more than web surfing.
My question is, now that we have root (THANK YOU EVERYONE BTW FOR THAT!!) is there some way to develop a wifi calling app with T-Mobile giving it to us? I really hope the answer is yes as a month and a half without phone service will be slow torture.
Thanks for the anticipated help!!
I understand your pain I'm in a similar situation.. that being said you shouldntve posted in Dev section..

I had a feeling I was posting in the wrong spot. I've been a lurker on these forums for a while but I was always nervous to post because I'm not really a fan of flames. I realized just about as I hit post that there is a Q & A section and thats where I should have posted.
So, I apologize profusely to the Dev community. I meant no offense. If a mod could move this post, I would appreciate it.
Thanks for all the hard work guys and sorry again for posting in the wrong spot.
If you're ever worried about
your post being in the wrong section, err on the side of safety and post in general.
as for wifi calling you are a but sol sally.usually this requires pinch of more than an app and since it is coming natively the Dev community really has no reason to waste time. Best luck mate.

From what I remember, the wifi calling app requires some stuff based in the kernel. I haven't personally tried it, but I'm assuming those lines of code aren't there yet.

According to Tmonews.com, the update to get Wifi calling will be available Nov 13th.

To Canadian owners of the I747 GS3, welcome to your new home! XDA has officially added your devices to this forum! As such, let's all work to make the moderators' and developers' jobs easier by doing the following:
Threads: Would all of you who have started threads in the previous forum that relate to Rogers, Bell, or Telus, please indicate in bold in the thread title that it should be moved here and specify which section you want it moved to.
Update - 07/30/2012: There are still a number of Rogers/Bell/Telus specific threads in the old section without any direction to move them. If you are the OP to any of these threads, please edit the titles to reflect which carrier and section they apply to so that they will be moved to the appropriate new section. Time is running out so please do this asap, as per this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1803287
Development: Being added to this forum does not mean that anything has magically changed from the previous forum relating to compatibility of your device. If, for whatever reason, an AT&T mod was not safe to flash before, it is still not safe to flash! Continue to read the OP, search, and post in the thread, if you are unsure whether something is safe to install on your device. You alone are responsible for the health of your device, so please exercise that responsibility fully.
If there is anything else that you feel should be added to this thread, or you have any questions, please feel free to either send me a PM, or post in the thread below.
This change was definitely the right decision, as most of us are already spending the majority of our time on this thread, given the almost identical nature of our phones. Looking forward to working with our US GS3 colleagues in building the great community this has the potential to be!
Excellent, thank you!
OP updated, please update titles of threads from the old section you want moved asap.

That is correct. I updated, no problems, through kies. I then re-rooted using the Samsung Rom toolbox to flash cwm through Odin, and superuser through cwm. Finally, set the trip counter back to zero with the triangle away app (you can get it through Google Play). The whole process was flawless.
Update upgrades us to the latest modem, LH1, way faster lte speeds. Also some other minor ui changes to the stock messaging app and browser.

What! So upgrading will lose root access?
What per se is Samsung Rom toolbox if you don't mind me asking, is that JRummy's Rom Toolbox you're referring to?
Sounds like a bit of a process, I was so proud of myself to finally tackle installing cwm via adb. Now that was all for nothing?! Dang...care to post a few more details and links for those who are still a little shy of turning their phone into a brick? Pretty please.

It is very easy to change the mms apn. Once you root it just get the MSL code, go to ##DATA# via the dialer, go to other, find mms there and change it to the boost mobile APN for mms.
I'm not sure if that's the exact place to edit the MMS as its been a while since I went to ATT and their samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket.

If you're gonna use a jb rom then that exynos abuse didn't work for me since I thibk they fixed the patch in the new leaks or updates or something. .which is why the one clicks thru pc odin are sooooooooooo much easier.
For what its worth
Sprint/boost/virgin doesn't matter the hardware is IDENTICAL as well as the software. The only thing you need to do to run a sprint rom on boost/virgin is edit the mmsc/mms apn other than that everything else connects to the exact same network using the exact same interfaces. The mmsc/mms apn is just the weblink that mms is routed thru for each carrier.

Another trick that might be even easier is there is a tool in the market I believe its called APN backup . I flashed a couple phones to cricket back on the day and you could just backup the apns before flashing. Then save the XML file somewhere safe then after your done messing with your phone and configured it how you want you can download and run the app again and do a restore. Effectively restoring the apns you had backed up this is an easy fool proof way to keep the APN settings exactly intact.

I've heard that the use ofthe repack is hit and miss. Some of the problems arise on a reboot where it doesn't recognize sd or pd apps. So most of the devs recomend to flash repack to flash mods and tweaks..then flash atock jernelejuat before rebooting out of recovery.
But like i said its been hit and miss according to different threads

I wanted to request any of the developers for our phone to port over a ROM made by soloilmeglio for the international variant of Note 4. The ROM is called X-Note and can be found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/rom-x-note-build-1-0-nj4-t2935625.
The developer (soloilmeglio) seems to be well regarded and it looks like the ROM has been crammed with a ton of features. It would be nice if we could get it for our phone also.
You are probably better off contacting the developer and working with him to test and see if he would port it over. Good luck, looks like a great rom.

I'd also be willing to test. I've never developed before, but I've been flashing for about 3 years now, so I'm moderate experience in testing.
To op if it the same principal as the note 2 which it probably is the international version is pretty hard to port att is the easiest.I'm still debating on the note or nexus 6 if I get the note I will help out some.

I read a few people from the T-mobile phone discussing porting in the thread. I had the note 2 before this phone but don't remember such a discussion. Would you mind linking a thread where people talk about difficulties porting an international version ROM?
Thanks

Just wanted to update you that i am working on this. I have it booting and everything is working with a couple of workarounds. I had to import the apn file from our stock rom to get lte and data working right. I am trying to fix the prl and profile update. I also have hangouts crashing whic i am working on. I reached out to the developer of the rom because i want his permission before i post it.

Awesome! Thanks!
I'm actually not going to post it yet. I spoke to the developer and we are going to bring it to sprint hopefully next week. If it doesn't happen I will post what I have so far. Profile and prl update don't work. LTE and data work but you have to bring APN from old ROM. Was never able to send MMS, not sure about receiving.

Wow. Thank you so much. I had given up any hope that a developer would take this up. I was going to take a shot at it myself but I was wary about the kinds of issues you mention and wouldn't have any idea on how to deal with them.

If all you want right now is the Sprint system update then I can do that as long as you have the original dev's permission to port and post it in our Sprint forum. If you already have data working then upload it to AFH or similar an PM me a link. But if im not mistaken, international phones lack a lot (if not all) of the necessary code/files necessary that reside in settings, jars & framework. Ill know right away if i peek inside just one file. If it lacks the necessary code/files then you might as well forget it because it would be like spending $3,000 to replace the transmission in your $500 Hyundai. Not worth it in that case.
I had the port working but data wasn't great. Only had 3g in certain places. APN wouldn't stick if you select LTE. I think it had to do with the profile not updating, so that might fix data. I'm actually getting a new phone this week because of a major lag issue so I stopped working on it. I spoke to the developer. He said he would help but has been unresponsive this week. I can wait till you release your next rim. You did a good job on the stock ROM. I wish I didn't have a hardware issue.

Thanks for trying. Do you think it would be easier to port the t-mobile version of this?
