Alright,
I'll yet and reach out one more time.
I don't know wtf happened to my phone in the last 24 hours but I am getting a prompt to switch to global mode about every thirty seconds when I'm not in cell reception range.
This sucks because I live in a no reception area, I'm getting prompted 100 times an hour!
This never happened before yesterday when I flashed CM 10.1
I completely odin back to stock and re provisioned my device.. After flashing back I'm still getting these annoying prompts to enable global mode.
Can someone please tell me how to completely disable global mode?
What I'll never understand is I have been running the K3 ota for over a week and this only started yesterday.
Please help!
Thank you xda community!

I'm having the same exact issue, it just started. I don't know what's going on and I'm using Mean Lean Jellybean build 4, tomorrow I'm going to flash Build 5 but I've been using 4 for weeks. I also live in a bad service area. Hopefully someone can help, it nearly makes the phone unusable at home.

I did a dirty flash of Build 5 over Build 4 and it seems to have stopped. Maybe try a different ROM? I'll do some more testing and update this is if in fact the issue starts again.

You know you guys are in the sprint section, not the Verizon section, and you posted in accessories, not q & a. You might want to get this thread moved by a mod.

I see this thread in the Verizon S3 section. Granted it is in the Accessories part. But I've never went into the Sprint section, so they must have the forums combined.

Interesting, maybe it is combined. It still should be moved to q & a, would probably get more answers there.
What is "global mode" ?
It asks you to switch to it. What happens when you do?
Yea, I've never seen global mode on my sprint s3.
Global Mode is under more settings in the networks section..
This thing is driving me nuts! Sorry about the accessories post. Im going to repost
In q and a.

Not on a Sprint phone, our model isn't a world phone. You shouldn't need to repost, you can pm a mod and they will move it for you.

As of right now, the roms for your S3 are not meant to be used on other S3 variants. Bricks might happens or a soft one might happen. Before flashing a Rom make sure you are in the right development section an you read the entire op, twice. Until other devs or experienced users find a way to make them cross compatible, please refrain from using other carriers S3 roms.

That's slick!:good:
hard brick - a pretty paperweight (tonight)
should have been more careful, soft bricked the phone, 2 times trying to change the dpi.
once trying to flash a rom - the rom flash, took it to QHSUSB_DLOAD mode, not impressed but i'll take this downtime as a time to relax.
Another way to avoid a brick; Don't use a mod, theme, tool or ROM until it's confirmed by multiple people in the community that it's working properly. Read the last 3-4 pages of a thread

I agree with you, I ended up with a soft brick stuck at the samsung glowing logo after trying to unroot because I got a crack the front plastic near the headphone jack. I managed to reset the flash counter and install the rom but odin failed at the end. Now I'm hesitant to flash another ROM. Anyone else here waiting for JellyBean Rom? Definitely take your time and always make sure your computer installs the drivers before doing anything! I got BB to exchange it for me since they couldn't get it to boot and the mystery crack wasn't my fault. I only had it for like 3 days IN A CASE TOO. Happy Flashing dudes.
I'm just glad i saw a forum for the gs3. I would've bricked my phone after i got it.
Another bricker my own fault went to unroot to take in for service and went and loaded a wrong .tar file of the stock system. Anyway...not looking for sympathy..just wanted to say thanks for the forum that gave me the tools to fix my mistake

Hey guys, I'm new to the boards and to Android. I was a very longtime user of iPhone and iOS until recently I returned my iPhone 5 for a Note II.
I apologize before hand if I'm coming off as a noob--thats cause I am--but I've ran into a problem.
Late last night I backed up my stock rom and installed [XXDLJ2 4.1.2][V2.0] WanamLite | Aroma. Everything went fine, the phone was working fine and after a while, I knocked out.
This morning the phone wasn't on so I figured it was dead. I immediately left it charging for a couple of hours and when I returned, the phone was still dead, no sign of life.
I'm starting to panic and I'm really hoping someone can help me.
I truly apologize for the noobing and if this thread isn't posted where it supposed to be, please accept my apologies..
thank you in advance.

Is it even booting to a splash screen (Samsung logo)? If it is, you can force it into download mode and Odin back to stock. There are tutorials on how to do so out there.
If it doesnt turn on at all, or if it just vibrates with a dark screen, you probably have a hard brick and may want to try warrantying it out. I've never had a softbrick that wouldn't power on, and I'd be wary of your Craigslist guy if he says a phone that shows no signs of life is a soft brick...

If I'm not mistaken, it's Clean ROM. The only issue I have is that my cell network is gone. I called and went to a retail AT&T and they couldn't figure out what was wrong.

Would you be able to walk me through this? I'm savvy when it comes to this but I am new to Android.
Your help will be appreciated.
also check to see if you have an IMEI number as well. CleanROM is an att ROM with all the correct data APNs (AccessPointNames), e.g., made from the ATT Stock ROM, so you should be able to connect. on the otherhand, if you don't have an IMEI number you'll need to fix that before you can move forward.

Ya can check and change yur apn settings by going to settings-wireless and networks-mobile networks-access point names. Ya should have an att apn if not hit the menu button and add new apn. That's what I was thinking as well; the modem might have been lost or corrupted. Easy fix.
OP, if you can get yourself into download mode, you're up against a soft brick. Once you're in download mode, fixing the phone is easy for almost any level of experience. Do some reading here, skim through ROM threads and read the stickies inside-out. There's nothing that guy did that a few hours of research and a little coaching can't help you do yourself.

I am not able to force roam on Verizon using these instructions http://qbking77.com/development/how-to-force-roam-on-verizon-with-samsung-galaxy-s-iii-and-note-ii/ or even update to sprints latest unless of course 2000 is the latest. I may be wrong, but I don't have any issues with 1.66. The only reason why I don't have sound issues is because I'm using 5.28 stable slim. The kernel did increase my volume dramatically. You can find 1.66 in the post toward the end of his thread.

Sorry, I posted this in the wrong section lol
Mine has always been on prl 2000 as well. What exactly are the steps to make this change? I'm rooted with twrp recovery and stock 4.1.2.
I was trying to flash my note 2 back to the stock sprint os and instead i flashed the verizon os. idiot move i know.
Now my phone turns on with the verizon logo and says the sim card is not a valid verizon card.
Did i mess up my phone or is there a way i can flash the original stock srpint os back on? if so, which file do i need to download to do that? I dont care about losing data since i already lost it when i flashed the verizon os.
any help would be appreciated.

checked out the newest post on galaxynote2root.com about turning my note 2 into a S5/Note3 hybrid.
FOllowed the directions telling me to flash the Verizon version to my Sprint device but it failed. Normally no big deal but like an idiot I did not back up and I did not have another ROM to fall back on.
I have a card reader adapter that I have attempted to put other random roms onto and flash through TWRP but EVERYTHING fails and I can't figure out why. SOmebody please help me out here
......
Update: I've been able to flash the Illusion Rom with no Fail message but it just boots to the Samsung Galaxy Splash and doesn't move like it's loading the greatest cut scene ever. So yea still stuck if anybody could help out
Ok I can most likely help but I need more information. Give me a link to the thread you followed and the rom you flashed. Please send it in a PM so others wont see it and try to do the same thing.
Another user recently posted a video link to something claiming the same thing in one of my rom threads. I have ported over a Verizon rom to sprint and it is not a simple thinbg to do. Wish you would have seen this in my thread before you tried it. Hopefully I can get you up and running again.

The users who did not mess up their device (non sprint users) do not have working wifi because they do not have the proper information. There are specific files on each device that is needed and they were not told to change them. I left a mostly nice comment about their steps for sprint.
Sorry guys I was already heading to bed when you guys started messaging back. I appreciate you guys taking the time out to help me with my problem. jlmancuso I've sent you that PM with hopefully all the information you need and requested.
Update: I have just attempted to Flash the stock firmware from samsung-updates.com through ODIN and I am unfortunately still getting no further than the Samsung Galaxy Note II splash and of course I've also lost TWRP
Final Update: After flashing the stock firmware back to my phone I went into the basic recovery mode that it has and did a factory reset yet again and apparently that did it and my phone is back to it's normal self.
Thanks for your help guys ... kinda lol
