Hey everyone! I am using ra3al's Xperia Z Launcher and when I untick the option "Keep in memory", it doesn't change anything as it is still there
when I look at the "Running" tab in application settings. This eats about 20mb RAM and I would like to know if there is any way to stop this :\ Any
idea? It is a very good launcher and I don't want to close the process myself everytime :\
Thanks for your time!

if you use the launcher it is normal to run in background. uninstall stock home.apk and convert z launcher as system apps.

Hey,
I found this video on youtube:
On the left it shows the Galaxy S without TouchWiz.
So it seems possible to disable TouchWiz.
Can you confirm that?
could that be one of the launchers installed?...looks nice though
I think like the poster of the video has written, it's the app LancherPro
thanks for confirming that u need to read up more.
Just an alternative launcher as ADW or LauncherPro...
Touchwiz is still probably running in processes...
oh thanks,
I havn't read the comments.
its launcherpro beta...just downloaded it, seems very nice

But will it disable touchwiz, or will that run in background and eat power from the battery, if so, it's no point running an extra UI on top of touchwiz.
for now, just remove all widgets from TW, and reduce all the screens available. Then run ADW or LP...the battery drain from TW is actually pretty negligible.
LauncherPro works great
I have installed LauncherPro. Works really great. I made it default application for home button and killed the default launcher service in the taskmanager. After rebooting all lag in opening applications was gone and the default launcher didn't started Now only LauncherPro working...
I'm expecting my phone tomorrow and I'd also like to get rid of the samsung interface. Launcherpro looks good. Does anyone know if Beautiful Widgets will work on this phone? (levelupstudio.com/widgets/weather)
Will you lose things like swipe and layar when you you install an app like that? And sorry for the noob questions, this is my first android phone.
Beautiful Widgets is running great on mine with launcherPro.

Then you need to get yourself a better task manager My recommendation would be an app called task killer.
Launcher Pro really is amazing.
Hmmm, and how to enable the TW Launcher again in case it's not automatically started after a reboot?

could you show me detail how to do it?
Thanks
I'm using LP and after i read this topic i went to
Setteing > Applications > Manager applications
then change the filter to all and scroll down to TwLancher
then u can Force close it BUT! i think this will effect other parts coz as we all know we use TW in the contacts list, call log and the dailer.
So after u close it u cant use this features like swipe to call or swipe to msg and i cant live without them , well thats wt happened with me, i swipe but it do nothing! and after i relaunch it it didnt work also so i restart my phone and its ky now
so if u use them "there r diffident dailers if u like to use" dont swich off ur TW launcher.

Hi,
It's a know issue for Apex Launche and Nova Launcher (maybe another Launchers?),at last for me it's not a Launcher issue...I posted this about "Launcher redraw" it's for Apex Luancher but maybe it's the same thing for Nova...
Personally I've never had "Launcher redraw" with both Apex or Nova and with LiquidSmooth rom.
Actually I use Nova and no "Launcher redraw",I have no apps or script which could cause this issue,I mean the Launcher is killed at a certain amount of memory used/free (RAM).
Apex have an option to keep it in memory, not Nova yet...
Maybe you can try V6 supercharger http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276 for adjust the Oom_adj priority and low_memory_killer settings?
It seems that there is also an app for keep the Launcher in memory:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1305060 with different settings...
First check your ROM feature (about init.d scripts for memory "tweaks") and maybe any apps you're using for memory settings (if you have one).Check also in developer option if "Don't keep activities" is untick and "Background process limit" is on "Standard limit".For me it's just a memory setting (the broad sense).
The post I posted about the "redraws",it's a theory or an idea, not a sure thing,a scientific etude or a proof:

Hi everyone!
I was wondering how I could disable wallpaper scrolling on my homescreen because it causes a little bit of lag on my Xperia Pro running Ultimate HD
3.0.2. I couldn't find any options in Display settings so I thought I should ask you guys . Do you have any ideas on how to do so? I'd like a way
without installing any 3rd party app but it's fine if you suggest any apps.
Thanks for your time!
Search for static live wallpaper on Google Play.

Ok I found a really nice application that locks launcher in memory and stops the redraws in your launcher! We all know that Sony's launcher has many redraws and it is very annoying. So here it is ,Xposed Installer + App Settings ,the best combination to lock launcher + widgets in memory and stop redraws!
Xposed Framework download here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
App Settings download here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2072081
Install Xposed Framework ,then install App Settings ,go to Xposed Installer and in the Tab called "modules" tick the App settings and reboot. After reboot open App Settings and search "home"(it's the name of Xperia Home launcher. If you are using another launcher ,search the name of your launcher) ,choose your launcher and swipe the button to turn it on and choose "resident" option. Save changes and go back to your home screen. It will restart the launcher and after that will lock you launcher in memory = no more redraws!!
Also you can resident your widgets like weather and tools ,just search widget instead home and repeat the steps above.
Good luck guys. Hit thanks if I helped you.

Hi there!
I have an Xperia S LT26i with android 4.1.2 (stock rom) and when I turn it off and on again I have 3 problems:
1.- the keyboard, I use SwiftKey, but every time I reboot my xperia the system choose for me the stock keyboard...and I can't uncheck the xperia keyboard!.
2.- notification sound. same, every time I reboot my xperia, the system set the default notification sound for every app...
3.- widget. i'm using beautiful widget for time and weather, but, again, every time I reboot the xperia, the widget disappear and I must create a new one. (btw, im using nova launcher, not the stock launcher)
what can I do? should I made root on my phone to fix this? or what??
Make sure all your apps are on your internal memory(phone memory) not your sdcard (storage?)
Try disableing(or freezing the keyboard apps (may bootloop)
The notifacations i have no idea , i still use the default
