Skype v2.0.0.45 - hack possible to use videocall on SGS2?

Hey, there's a much needed skype update out enabling video calling. However the new version, Skype v2.0.0.45, only allows/enables video calls on Nexus S, HTC's Desire S, and the Xperia Neo and Pro.
Any chance to hack it to work on the SGS2?
ETA: Sorry forgot to add [Q] on the thread title...

would be awesome, here's the apk if someone wants to try out, everything works except videocalling.

I dont know why it is just for 4 devices , the GS2 has the best front camera on a smartphone , i wish they will hack it like google talk .

Im no developer, but I've extracted this skype .apk file attached above and i found a file classes.dex, which contains something like this:

You need to go to profile and sign out and it won't.

Just installed on LG O2X: it keeps Force Closing. too bad. I saw that there was an other, older version. Gonna try it.

well none of above versions work on mu O2X: when hit the camera button, the screens goes in landscape (still, the autorotation is disabled).
When firstly making a skype call and then hitting the video buttn, the application FC. so, so bad :-(

i use version from villainrom.co.uk and video calls on my sgs2 works great switch between camera too

Download Gemini apps manager from market and remove from autorun all system events like on boot completed, on connectivity change, on package install, etc.
Don't touch unknown events (usually uppercase) or it won't work unless you see it still active and remember that this way you won't be able to answer incoming call when program is closed (that's why it keeps reopening)

How do you enable video? I've installed it, but there's no option for video call... only the regular.
Edit: nevermind that: I uninstalled the previous first, and after the first force-close, the second time it worked fine. Awesome job. Thanks pulser!

hey guys, my friendcaster notifications have stopped workin, is it any prob wit ant recent google apps update or something?

Whatsapp ART solved

Hi im using stock ,install whatsapp from google play store ,sign in whatsapp when u finish , now u can switch to art ,and boom no problem after upgrade to art with whatsapp anymore , dont forget to hit thanks

I don't have any problems with Whatsapp on ART for stock KK4.4 but OP is about stock and not rooted

Nope, still not working without libart.so patch.

[SOLVED] Annoying "Reply with Message" when receiving call

Well i think i finally found a very handy app to disable the Reply with Message option on XPERIA phones.
Although this app does not disables that option but changes the Incoming call screen of the XPERIA phone. I am using it now in my XPERIA Z1 Compact and its working great

hmm.. i installed this apk but it didn`t work .. when i recive a call it appears stock screen ... i`m on 4.4.4

well its wroking on my 4.4.2
there are some other options.,., whether to show stock in lock screen., do cchk thm out

P.S - WARNING!111!! ACHTUNG!!! IT'S JUST FOR 6.0+.
Guide how to install​
Download it (the newest is ver. 2.0 zip) using this link
Place it somewhere and remember that location
Reboot to your recovey and flash it
Then enable it like default dialer in Default Apps menu
It's simple AF! Isn't it?
Credits which no one never reads​

TWRP for stuff like recovery with which noobs can brick their devices by flashing this piece of **** presented here
Oh, and forgot - I really don't give any ****s about bricked stuff and penetrated, exploded anuses after flashing this. Great then, thx for feedback. Now I'm working on porting Google Camera with Nexus features like HDR+ etc, but it will be hard/nearly impossible. Need someone with Nexus 6P to give me needed camera libs and camera. Thx in advance.

Usually the Google dialler will have call connect vibrate, call waiting vibrate options, but these are missing in ur port.

Usually there is no any try to port that stuff to Stock Sony ROM, so I'm sorry about some missing stuff. Will look that. Thx for reporting

So it's ROM-based function, and if it's present in the ROM - you have ability to enable this function, otherwise it will not work in Google Dialer, not in other Dialer apps. Sorry for that.

I really appreciate your work. I love Google dialer app, however google InCallUI is missing. Is it possible to make Google InCallUI work?

Strange, cause me I have Google's in-call instead of Sony's one. Did you set Google Dialer as main dialer app? If no, set it as default in settings > apps > default apps. Also give it all permission, if it asks for them. Waiting for feedback!

No its not posible in Xperia UI - its a part of Stock vanilla android.

Permissions/libs/apps are updated to latest versions. Check this zip and let me know if this works, cause due update it shouldn't work on 7.0- devices.

Currently used - works properly.

@MotexT is it possible yhu mod tha latest google dailer to have like tha incall in tha screenshots below (3rd picture in tha screenhot)?
