I would not recommend trying that, CF-Auto-Root uses a temporary modded recovery to root the device. It may cause a boot loop if it doesn't get the other files it needs. I do not know for sure tbh
Thanks I appreciate the feed back, I gave it a try though work just fine for me it flashed just the stock recovery like I wanted it to c: so im pretty happy about it

We need more informations.
Do the same steps you did before. But don't flash it to your device again
Take a screenshot of ODIN and post here.

It seems that your English is not that good. To avoid errors, your ODIN must look like this.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As you see in the image
ODIN version is 3.04
N7100XXDMC3_N7100OXXDMC2_N7100XXDLK7_HOME.tar.md5 is firmware update file that must be chosen through the "PDA" button.

Well all right then.
If you cannot enter recovery after a proper stock rom flash, that's a bad news.
I agree with the rest. When you flash stock you should be able to access recovery. If not this is a big problem. I say try flashing either a newer stock rom or go back to square one and start all over from original stock. Some times that is the best way to solve your problems.
I'm between android devices and want to hopefully flash a Kit Kat build on my wife's gs2. I'm asking here being I've had to resort to a iPhone for the time being. Any info would be appreciated

Yeah I checked but this device is weird as you know and I wanted a bit of assistance not wise ass remarks. I'm new on this part of xda and with a flashed phone I know some roms don't work correctly. That's why I asked not to be lazy. Check my stats I do a lot of support for the one xl. And one thing I wouldn't do was post a link to a totally different device, someone with less common sense could brick with wrong info.

My bad, I read that as G2, I apologize. I was confused as to why this was posted here. If you want a ROM that works correctly go with TouchWiz. AOSP ROMs are pretty buggy on this device, especially KitKat.
What do I need to do to go from stock rooted this is a confusing device and I also still have stock recovery
Gb27 by the way

Get Mobile Odin, flash this kernel (.tar format)-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2244781 in Mobile Odin and that will give you a custom recovery
Would u recommend wiping dalvik and cache? Or is it safe to just reboot into the stock rom?

If all you flash it the kernel, its safe to reboot without wiping anything. However, I would follow any and all directions given by the OP of any ROM or kernel you flash to the letter. Otherwise, you're asking for issues. This is a confusing device, and there are so many little nuances that need to be done just right to avoid problems.
If you take nothing else away from this post, remember this website www.rwilco12.com, it will save your device if you run into issues or just need anything for the device. Every ROM, kernel and modem leaked and/or released for this device by Samsung is on there and will return you to stock in a heartbeat.:good:
Title says it all, I need the stock rom for the Galaxy S2 T-989. All of the Hotfile links are down and i can't seem to find any working links on the internet.

It doesn't matter, i just don't have a backup available. Also whenever i try to flash it says there is an error and says "Failed"
I just need a to flash via ODIN and then i will root it again.
If u Google how to root sgh t989 there should be a lot of posts with the .tar file and stock ROM I just recently had to do this I'm not sure from which site but the links were live from several sites

Just in case if i don't find one

OK I'm trying to go back since in returning the phone back to sprint and it won't let me on twrp when I try to install it it just says fail!
What exactly are you trying to flash in recovery?
I was trying to return to stock so I got cnexus deodex rooted mk3 stock ROM and twrp won't install it it just says failed and I tried clockwork and it aborts then when I went back to twrp and tried to restore my nandroid it won't restore the data it would fail and I could only rainfall pacman and yeah

They're gonna see that it's rooted if you're taking it in for fixing, but TWRP is known to have problems with non-AOSP ROMs... That's the main reason I don't use it.

Yes this is only the firmware, and No, you can't flash the OTA over a custom ROM. Currently you have to be completely stock.

Well, this bricked my phone. Was running CM11 and had flashed the ND8 modem earlier, which didn't cause any problems. Then I flashed this file in custom recovery, rebooted to find that I had zero cell phone signal, attempted to reboot into download to flash the update.zip file I got from the ota thread, ended up with a phone that does nothing at all. Am I to understand that I'm stuck like this until I buy an SD card reader and install/run a live CD of linux?
Link removed. This is the second account of bricking from flashing this file that I've received, even though I had no issues when flashing.
As of now, the only way I'd recommend of updating to anything ND8 related (including the modem) would be to flash the stock tar in the android dev section and go from there.
Stock ND8 tar: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2738533
With that, this thread is closed...
