does anyone know of any low cost yet fairly decent charging docks for the HTC one, they don't need to support a case.
the only ones ive been able to find are either too pricey or five bucks off eBay, which is something id be skeptical about putting my phone into

I use a Kidigi Cradle from ebay (basically the same model as linked above, only with a logo on it;had one for the P990 before)... looks nice, but requires a bit of fumbling for the micro-usb plug. Nice touch: it has an inlay which can be removed so the phone should fit in with case on. Can´t test this now, though, since my case hasn´t arrived yet.
The only ones I'm aware of are the actual HTC car cradle and the ProClip models. ProClip has several versions with built in charger and I believe some are adjustable for cases. They are not cheap but very well made and have custom mounting solutions for almost any vehicle. www.proclipusa.com
If you don't have a case on your phone then look at the original HTC One car cradle which generally gets decent reviews as well. It has an added benefit in that it will automatically put the phone into car mode when you put it in the cradle. http://www.htc.com/www/accessories/htc-car/
Cheers!

Beware. DO NOT buy from dx-box. The cradle they ship out is different. Me and my bud ordered two, a week apart but instead of the one pictured they shipped this POS cradle which hoes for less than half the price.

The pictured dock on DX-BOX is the covermate (kidigi one without the name stamped). You can get it from eBay or other vendors.

We just got my husband a droid 2 global (same size as droid 2) and we're trying to find a case that will fit the car dock with the extended battery. I have a Droid X with the extended battery, and I was unable to find a case to fit it with the car dock (I ended up getting a Zagg skin). I expect that we'll have to same issue with his phone. The D2 extended battery doesn't add too much thickness, but enough to make a difference with cases. We haven't gotten the car dock yet since I want to get it for him for xmas, so I want to make sure that the case he gets will fit it. Has anyone had any luck with a case for the D2/D2G with the extended battery and car dock?

Might not be exactly what you are looking for, but have you seen the "Clingo" products from Allsop? They have a special sticky pad that any phone will stick to, and then you just peel he phone off - I got one in anticipation of me having a Milestone 2, and my wife having an iPhone 4. Obviously, without it being a true docking solution, you'd have to have a separate cable for charging purposes, but I'm tackling that with a USB cable terminating with a socket at the holder, and a two short cables (one for iPhone, and a micro USB for the Milestone).
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Steve.
Interesting, thanks for the idea!
I believe the standard VZ cases might fit the bill. The wife got a blue hardshell and it's slightly larger around the battery area and looks like its made to accept a larger battery and it fits nicely in the VZ car dock.
How do you feel about your X? I am debating dumping the D2 for the X. I have another week to decide.

We ended up going with a Zagg skin. Some people have had issues (as with any phone), but I haven't had any - I love my X!

Yes, it works quite nicely, fits the extended battery bump, and a removable plastic backing comes off of the car dock to allow room for the case. I love it!

As an addendum to this - I've found that if I attach a small magnet to the back of the Clingo (in the right place), this even engages the "Car Dock" user interface of the Milestone when I stick it to the holder.
Here is what I just found out.
I just took a Droid Car Dock from Verizon right out of the box. It was brand new. I removed the Droid2 insert and then tried to place my Droid2 Global with a VZW Case into the dock. It would not fit. The reason the insert comes out is so the dock can support the original droid with the included adapter. From my un-scientific test I just did, the VZW Car dock will not work with a case on it.

It depends on the case my rubbery Droid 2 case will only fit if I squeeze it in (because the rubber grips the plastic). But hard cases that aren't too big should fit (but not with the extending battery unless there is a specific case for the dock.)

Now would be the time to pick up a standard dock for those that have held out because of the price. I just got one from BestBuy for $24.99 (+tax of course). The sale lasts until the 17th. It's online and in stores.
Motorola - Dock for Motorola XOOM Tablets
I've been thinking about this all day but would much rather have the HD speaker dock. Ill have to think about this all week since its on sale- no rush to have a dock charger unless it was the HD speaker dock.
I purchased at this price 2 months ago. Could someone link the thread on modding the dock to include the USB port?

Also some decent price drops on Xoom accessories at Best Buy UK
This appears to likely only fit an un-cased Xoom. Are there any docks out there that work with something like the otterbox?

It has plate that you can change that will work with some cases. I've got a thinner one that works fine on it. It looks like it 'raises' the little platform with the plugs on it by about 1-2mm, so if your case is thicker, it won't work.
best buy in canada has the speaker docks at 64.99 and the standard docks at 29.99
Hey guys if you buy this you can mod it to have USB connectivity. Here's a link to the DIY:

It looks like this sale is still going on at their website.
Add the dock to your cart and you'll see it for 24.99 USD.
Just bought one for in-store pickup.

Picked mine up today for $24 then saw this post. I plan on putting mine on the mantle wired to my home theater receiver for slacker radio.
Ordered mine... should be at the store for pick up tomorrow!!!
Hi,
I was looking to pick up a desktop dock. I am using a Seido charger from my Treo pro days. It seems to charge very very slowly (it is plugged in via usb). I was looking for a nicer cradle/dock that would fit my E4GT with a TPU case.
Is there anything out there?
Thanks,
Rich
Here is the Samsung stand/spare battery charger. It doesn't charge the phone but comes with a spare battery and cable to plug in/charge. I have a generic TPU/Hybrid case from eBay and it fits the standard in both portrait and landscape trouble free. Quite like it.

I was just snooping around for a cradle/dock that would work with a case. The one I found seems to fit the bill. Search for eBay item 220936397990. Anyone have any hands-on with this cradle?
Might check the fine print on that ebay cradle. It clearly states that cases must be removed from most US models of the GSII in order to work.
Not to say it won't...
EDIT: Nevermind, I don't read to well. You have to remove the cushion from the cradle.
Well I just purchased two. If you want to hold off, I'll let you know how it turns out with a TPU case and a Body Glove case
Please let us know how it works with your case.
How did that go for you? Did you get it yet?
I guess we will never know...
Search my posts, I posted the exact dock I got, that works with my TPU case and posted pictures with links to the products I used. I did have to take a bit of the sides with a dremel tool, but I got 3 docks and did all 3 in about 15 min and they all work perfectly.
Hey, I just wanted to say thanks - I ordered the dock, did the mod with the dremel & it works great!
if you want a car mount (suction cup) get the nuvi 200 mount on ebay (around $4)
WITH tpu case fits perfect snug enough to hold but not damage. Very nice.
won't work without TPU case (too loose a fit)
Ebay - 220983308911
$4.15 Shipped
UPDATE:
I received the dock yesterday but didn't have a chance to play with it until today. Overall, I really like it. As indicated, there's no way to use it with a case on your phone. I have the extended battery and it's a very tight fit with the extended battery backing on. The battery charger seems to work well also with my spare battery. Also, as someone else mentioned, it's virtually impossible to remove the phone from the dock with just one hand. I'll try it with the standard battery cover, but I suspect it'll be the same.
I actually ended up buying one branded by "Cellet" on eBay as well so now I have two . They're identical as far as I can tell, just with a different name on the front.
Like many, I've been looking for a dock for a while. Ran across this one on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007PKBVN8/ref=ox_ya_os_product
It has a spare battery charger for the CDMA version which is great. Only one review, but it's a good one. I Google'd a the brand and found good reviews on other docks so figured I'd give this a try. If anyone else has tried, please share your experiences here. I'll put a review in too once I get it. I just ordered it today.
Had one like that for my DROID Eris, worked well. Unfortunately the Nexus doesn't have the durable finish of the Eris, I'm guessing this won't work with a case.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
The only thing I didn't like about this unit (as mentioned in the Amazon review) is how difficult it is to remove the Nex from the doc - two hands for sure.
Just bought this dock. I was mainly only in need of a battery charger, but for the extra $9 a docking mechanism seems good, plus the battery charger doesn't look to be as cheaply made as the $10 hong kong products that are up on amazon. Again as always, I'll fill you guys in with some pics when it comes in.
http://www.droid-life.com/2014/02/26/asus-releases-two-official-nexus-7-docks-priced-at-50-and-90/
Both are on Amazon. The wired goes for $50, and the wireless goes for $70 (contrary to what the article states). It shows $90, but that's from a third party seller. You have to choose Amazon as the seller under "More Buying Options" if you want it for $70. Ships in 2-4 weeks.
Seems to be US only for now, despite the fact that it's an international device. I'll just stick with my Nokia Qi charger.

Agreed, while I like the idea of docks they are just always over priced and never work if you have a case. I have a nokia qi charger on my nightstand for my nexus 5, might as well just pick up another one for around $25 for my desk. So nice not having to plug in the charger anymore.
I have both the docks, they are available in the UK through the Asus Shop.
The wireless dock is a lot smaller than you might expect. It comes with a charger which has a very big suppression core at one end. It will charge the Nexus 7 with a case fitted or even with the case open (doubled up) to expose the screen. It only works with the Nexus 7 in landscape mode and does not have any magnets to hold the Nexus 7 in place. It is far less fussy than the Google official Qi charger which requires almost millimeter precise positioning and barely works with most cases.
The wired dock is made of a semi transparent grey plastic that attracts grease marks like a neodymium magnet. You need to remove the case from your Nexus 7 for it to connect, it is a very snug fit. The base has a micro HDMI connector and a micro USB for charging. Unlike an MHL adaptor it does not need power to work. This is really most suitable for semi permanent use, if you use a case to protect your Nexus 7 you would probably be better off buying a slim port display lead instead.

Cool. I ordered the wireless one from Amazon (for $70) after I made this thread. Even though it said "2 to 4 weeks" to ship, I actually just got the notification that it shipped today. Should be getting it by Tuesday. I was looking for a second standing Qi Charger (for work) since I use my Nexus 4 Orb at home. I'll see how it works with my N7 2013 as well as my N5. Do you have any experience using the wireless one with a N5?

Welp... Just received the wireless charger. First off, let me say, it works wonderfully with the N7 2013, which one would hope considering this Qi charger was made specifically for it. It does look pretty slick and is A LOT smaller than I was anticipating. However, I'm sad to say that it's going back to Amazon. The main reason is that it doesn't work with my Nexus 5 like I was hoping it would. I have my N5 in a Diztronic TPU case, and the bottom lip of the case apparently raises it just high enough to be out of range of the charging coils. It will charge without a case, but I'm not about to commit to taking it out of the case every single time I want to use this charger for my N5. The only reason I could justify paying this price was if I would be able to use it on my N7 AND N5. I guess I'll just wait for the Tylt Vu to go back on sale again and pick that up instead. Pretty disappointed.
It is surprisingly smaller than you expect, whoever took the promo pictures should give Tom Cruise a call.
Shame it's not compatible with your N5 in it's case, that is a little surprising as this is the most unfussy Qi charger I have used to date.

Yeah I just got mine last week and I think I might be sending it back as well. The bottom lip isn't big enough to secure the N7 2013 while its in my poetic case so it doesn't really work as the "plot-and-charge-grab-and-go" solution that I hoped it would.
Bummer :crying:
