Not sure if it applies to the RAZR but with my Electrify M it was not possible to RSD back to 4.0 after I OTA upgraded to 4.1.2. I would be cautious of a bootloader lock with "no way back"
you think this had anything to do with the recent Android malware scare?

From what I read on droidrzr.com, this release is just bug fixes.

I've seen in several places that this update will close the unlock and root exploits. However, if you're unlocked already, it shouldn't re-lock, but it will eliminate root. Why did you unlock, if you're still willing to take OTAs? Just wait for the update to make it into dev's hands, and they can release a "safe" version.

Using RSD to get to 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 should allow for the bootloader to be unlocked again (since its just a kernel fix)
Sad to see we wont be getting official 4.2 anytime soon.
[/COLOR]It is not possible to downgrade the devices once updated unless the bootloader is already unlocked, therefore that won't work.

CA stands for California and I did a little research and this is what I found.
"According to an article in the business section of my newspaper, written by Dana Hull of mercurynews.com, the California Energy Commission on Thursday will consider adopting the nation's first energy-efficiency standards for battery chargers. The Commission staff says that these new regulations could (eventually) save the state as much as 2,200 GWh per year. The new regulations will cover every form of battery charger, from cell-phone chargers to industrial-sized chargers and would go into effect by January 2013. "
EDIT: Also with the 2nd LCD thing, I have no idea what that means but I googled it and found this. Seems to be people talking about enabling the 2nd LCD, like I said I have no idea. BUT I did read a few updates for other phones that enabled the 2nd LCD is getting them ready for Jelly Bean.

I checked the sources a few days ago, and zv9 does differ from zv8. I am not a kernel dev, so I'm not sure really how or how much, but I'm sure we can get someone who knows more to take a look at it.
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
I can confirm that stock v9 is unrootable meaning if you think you might want to unlock your bootloader and use custom roms its best to do so from v8. If you already upgraded to stock v9 and want to root and unlock you can use lgnpst to downgrade. This is what i did, the instructions for lgnpst are in the dev section. Theres a stock rooted v9 rom up right now so thats the way to go, plus you can get rid of bloatware.

I rooted ZV8 but left the bootloader locked, enabled supersu survival mode then ran the OTA. I was able to keep root.

why take the OTA? if you have s-off why not just flash a 4.3 rom?
This my friend only matters for those that bought a phone after 4.3 is released... First... Soff and unlocked and rooted should NEVER take an ota, cause it could (prob just fail) brick you... Second, if you like stock, I'm sure it will be only a matter of hours before someone releases a flashable HTC stock ROM that will update you... Really, as long as you put cwm recovery on your phone, and only flash Roms thought it, you have nothing to worry about whatsoever...

I've been told by someone whom I think is reputable that it is possible to gain root after taking the 4.3 update.
I know from the Rumrunner S-off thread that S-off is not achievable yet but that doesn't necessarily mean rooting is impossible.
Can someone set me straight here? Is it possible to root 4.3 but still be S-on?
Thanks.

I know there are numerous members including myself, that have updated to KK 4.4.2, and just experienced nothing but crap, in comparison to 4.3, which we cannot go back to. But, luckily there is a Galaxy Note 3/Galaxy S4/Nexus 5 god somewhere. They have heard our complaints about the srewed-up update released, and are currently working on the fix, which will be named 4.4.3. This update will fix numerous issues, involving the most talked about, camera and data drops......ps. connection drops, etc. I've read they are currently testing the update, so in other words, they jumped right on it. I hqve been suffering from the 4.4.2 sickness every since the update, wishing I could, or someone find a way to go back to 4.3. I just recently updated my Galaxy S 4, not aware of the troubles, but didnt run full testing method to ensure that I respected the update. I just immediately fell In love with the smoothness and speed, unaware of the crap under the covers. And then I got bold and updated my Beast of Hardware, the Note 3...........and was overwhelmed by the lack of tlc of the update. But threw all the rebooting, the battery pulls, the waiting for sitez to load, the non responsive buttons, they are working to fix this horrible experience. Thanks you Android for wasting time, but at least aorking to fix the problems. Upon release of the fix, I cant wait to see the sweetness the Dev's bring to the table with the new OS fix.
