Can't Install Fonts?? - HTC One X

Hi all!!
I've been playing around with some custom fonts on my HOX, and often times get stuck on the HTC One - Beats Audio boot screen when trying to install fonts with Font Installer. Some fonts work, but others don't. I have TWRP, so I have a stable backup that I keep going back to and trying again, but time and time again, it doesn't work.
For example, I can use Montserrat.ttf, but when I try Montserrat-Bold.ttf, my phone gets stuck at the HTC One screen. :\
Why do some .ttf files work and others don't? Is there something I'm doing wrong? Would using a program such as TypeFresh work better?
Thanks!

Make Droid X Keyboard Default????

Hello all. I was wondering if there was a way to make the Droid X Keyboard the default keyboard? I've searched here and over at PPC but still haven't found the answer. I really like it but get tired of having to hold the screen then select which keyboard I want to use. Kind of defeats the purpose of installing a separate keyboard.
U shouldn't have to select the keyboard after the 1st time u do it. That should set it as the default.

excuse my newbie-ness but are you rooted? I am fully rooted and use damage's rom and the moto droid x keyboard sticks...is this not the case for non-rooted phones?
This is my first android phone and I rooted right when I got it so I am not familiar with non-root androids. But if the keyboard doesnt stick, that is kinda ****ty...
sorry i wasnt more help but I don't know much -.-
I must be doing something wrong because no matter what I do I can't get it to stick. I'm fully rooted, running DC 3.2.3. I have it selected as the default input type but when I go to text, or type anything the stock keyboard appears.
have you tried flashing it again?
the first time i installed, it kept force closing. I just re-flashed on top of it and it worked fine. maybe your is somewhat of a different problem but same solution??
Just to cover all bases, click on a text area, hold down on that text area and select input method. Then choose what keyboard you want. You may have to do it a couple of times but that should work. That's all I got.
Edit: sounds like that is what you have already been doing, disregard.

Just tried to reflash but now keep getting a "Error in line 4" message. Tried it using both Clockwork & RA. Bout to reflash 3.2.3 and start over. Maybe I'll wipe this time before installing or install before I enable Apps2SD.
since you are using DC, just use DCupdater to grab the .zip and have it reboot into recovery to install for you. that why you are getting a version known to work. If you removed dcupdater then i would say ask treve where to get a compatible droidxkeyboard .zip so you can manually flash over. Hope this helps....

[Q] What to do now, is it a decoration, or can it be saved?

Hi everyone!
I managed to root my DHD last night, used the tool to get S-OFF and ENG-OFF thing, well, everything that I could. I changed my radio, and installed a custom rom, everything went well. Then, I decided I'd want a new theme..... And then everything goes... yeah..
I installed Android Revolution and chose CommonSense as my new theme.
Well, I as I read that you need to use CWM Recovery and install the theme as a .zip from there, so I did. Put the .zip in my sd root and installed the theme from there. But it seems that was not the way to do it.
And as I read the instructions, that was definitely not the way to do it.
So, now my phone boots, HTC with big letters comes up, and then it changes to HTC Quietly Brilliant with a twitch. After being on Quietly Brilliant, it goes to black for 400 ms, and changes back to Quietly Brilliant and starts to loop that.
I tested that I can still do fastboot, and go to CWM Recovery from there..
But, I firstly decided to come up on here to ask what should I do now?
You can reflash the rom or find a working theme and install so that the boot loop will be gone.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
its only a bootloop chillout there are 3 options, 1. find the version of that thme for your rom and flash it again. 2. flash your rom again. 3. push your framework-res.apk to/system/framework/ using adb
Yeah, I think it's being fixed right now.
I tried installing theme again.. THE RIGHT WAY and the RIGHT THEME. But, that didn't help, so now I'm flashing the rom again.
It's a great relief that it was just a "bootloop chillout"
Thanks for your help Lopio & AndroHero!

if your going to mod your device expect many bootloops best idea is before you flash anything, do a nandroid backup in recovery, it only takes a minute and if anything goes wrong you dont have to mess about flashing a new rom, you can just restore your old one
next time, backup before you flash from the CWM.
if u have a boot loop, you just need to re-flash the rom.

A simple root ruined my day

Hello XDA-Forum
As of today this is my first day and post here.
As a noob ( I watched the video on reg, i found it funny yet noobfriendly D: ) i would like to ask some questions that the all-mighty search button could not find me, or atleast i could not find
I whacked my head all day searching for a way to root my HTC Wildfire S a520e running on 2.3.3 stock marvel s-off phone
and after by mistake factory reseting it, twice....
I finally managed to root it with OneClickRoot or something.
Then i tried to to what i originaly wanted to root for, Overclock.
But after downloading the rom i got from a youtube video, it f**ked me up good.
Now my phone is overclocked, but is slower. and the menu's are all glitchy and white and wrong.
I would like to ask how to return to the stock rom of 2.3.3 that i so much desire.
Meanwhile while i await your answears of joy, i am downloading Cyanogen 7.2 Rom that i found on the interwebs and should so-fit my tiddy little wildfire s.
Toodles.
I installed Cyanogen... and .... well i don't like it (Q_Q)!
i want my old 2.3.3 back (cry)
It feels slower, i don't like the UI
EDIT:
Now that i look at it again.. it's not that bad qq
but where's the android market/google play ?
You need to flash Google apps package from clockwork mod recovery:http://cmw.22aaf3.com/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip for market to work.
If you want to go back to stock, download a ruu installer for your region eg euro, Asia etc from here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074445
Install from a windows pc
As un-adaptable to new stuff i am and as much i hate change.
I find this cyano-genic blue colour to be semi attractive.
and i decided i'll keep it.
I read that cyanogen has built in overclocking.
Where can i see the hardware? i try'd in about settings but it doesn't say there.
For overclocking go:
Settings
Cyanogenmod
Performance
Cpu
I find this slightly more complicated than the normal android sense, but herpyderpderp atleast i'll be the only one in my class with a custom rom 8D
All the others are iOS/IceCreamSandwich richbishes D:
Is there something Cyanogen can't do that the original android stock can do?

I know i ask a lot of questions but i'm stuck at "Touch the android" after i flashed this thing
i touch the android and nothing happens... this happens on boot
I find myself in a position where i cannot procceed, this "touch the android" is stopping me ._.
hawp...
You might need to reflash.
Clear your data and dalvik in cwm
Flash cm7 latest nightly
Flash gapps
On first start take your time DONT press the android right away.
Give all background apps and SD time to load, maybe 30-60 seconds then press it and continue setup.
I have had that issue in the past.
Hope it helps you.
CM7 is a great rom, so customisable enjoy and make it your own.

I factory reseted.. i hate having to do that.....
it got stuck at cyanogen 7 loading boot, will this happen again if i use the thing you gave me for android?
damN! factory reset didn't fix it, how do i reflash when i deleted the file from the SDCard? now i can't put it back on the SDcard
EDIT: I got the file on again, but this software is way too fragile...
http://pockethacks.com/htc-wildfire-s-custom-rom-android-2-3-3-gingerbread/
Is that older or new'r ?
And can i get THAT interface on my now installed rom?
EDIT:
Stuck at HTC, still wown't load after re-flash
Did you wipe data and dalvik?
Its important you do!
Use this cm7, latest nightly build http://cm7-wildfire-s.googlecode.com/files/update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-marvel-03_29_2012.zip
I'm thinking of getting this http://code.google.com/p/cm9-wildfi...rc0-unofficial_rom-alpha0-signed.zip&can=2&q=
So far so good, it has minor problems i don't like
but what can i do -sigh-
there's an option called "Data Enable"
Does that take like money or anything?
also how can i use Voice Speech in this rom?
i wanna be able to talk on skype and it turns out as text
just as a question, could there be a problem during the installation, becouse the clock on the start seems to not be visible, it said some kind of error and i removed it from the screen. also it has 90mb free now
feels like first time i installed it it had like 110
THe clock on the lockscreen? You probably changed a setting. Or a clock widget? You probably deleted it. Just hold on the home screen and re add it form there.

Also can i UPDATE from 7 to 9 without having to start over.
just update?
UPDATE: Also, i loose some files from sdcard (games installed) when it crashes when overclocked sometimes.
What the... i restarted my phone and all the stuff on SDCard is deinstalled, gone D:
EDIT: It came back after 5 mins
EEK!
I was putting some stuff on my SDCard when suddenly i open proccess list and on SC card it says No applications, 1.4 used, 431free but nothing QQ Hawp
all my icons are now with the android pic on them D: helppp
I'm starting to hate this already D:
Also my google play went back to market

[Q][SOLVED] Phone locking up with modified boot animation

I have an S3 with a rooted stock ROM and I started toying with changing the standard boot animation. I used the process http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1897969 with success. I downloaded several animations with ROM Toolbox and everything worked fine. I then modified one and it worked as well. I modified another but did not keep an eye on the final size of the zip file and I noticed later it was much too large. It locked my phone up at the start of the animation sequence and I had to flash the disable zip file. After flashing the enable zip file I noticed that it would not accept any modified or custom bootanimation files including the one that had previously worked. Stock ones downloaded through ROM Toolbox still work. I have gone over the files thoroughly but don't see any problems. I have tried something as simple as extracting and repacking a stock animation to a NANDROID restore with no success. I have also placed it manually in the /data/local folder instead of the app with no success either. Does anyone have a clue what may be going on?
Did you try Flashing the Enable zip file again ?
Yes. I did that after flashing the disable zip, rebooting and removing the bootanimation file. Since it locked up the only animation that works are downloaded stock ones from ROM Toolbox. It would even lock up on a stock one that I rezipped with no alterations. I have used both Winzip and 7 zip.
Are you using the right compression level? It has to be set to "store", anything else will cause it to not show/work.
Weeeeeell. I feel like an idiot. I read right over that part of the instructions. Cue rolling of the eyes. It makes sense though as it needs to be kept simple for the boot process. I tested some with both zip programs and they work. Odd the first one worked though. Thank you for pointing this out.

No problem, if it's any higher (like you said) the OS would have to spend a lot of CPU power reading it, and thats just not practical to do at boot nonetheless
Just a little further of an explanation since you were already hinting at it
Anyway, glad you got it solved, have fun playing with boot anims, it's very enjoyable

HTC Desire 500 - Problem with custom bootanimation

He guys,
i have the HTC Desire 500 with this recovery, SuperSU,BusyBox and Xposed framework installed, but i had to flash them all because my Phone is S-ON.
I was afraid of flashing this Kernel for my phone because i thought that it might hard-brick my phone.
My phone is currently working well, but there was one thing i hate:
The bootanimation with BeatsAudio. So i decided to create my own one without BeatsAudio and made it flashable, i had to do it like this because otherwise the bootanimation will uninstall after rebooting.
The only Problem is, that the bootanimation is not loading. The phone is just showing a black screen.
I changed really nothing in the bootanimation than removing the BeatsAudio, and i also made a flashable zip for the stock bootanimation and that worked fine. I really don't know how to fix that problem. Can you guys help me?
Download for the flashable Zip:
Custom
Stock
Hopefully you can help me
