[Q] Build AOSP from source

Hey all, new to here but not new to android. I wanted to try to build AOSP (not CM10, or AOKP) from source so that I can have a pure Google AOSP ROM to play around with (never built from source before) . I've gotten the source for 4.2.1 from Google source and everything is setup in my virtual Ubuntu machine, but I don't know what to do about the proprietary binaries for the 747.
Can someone tell me which files I would need from say, Cm10's github and where to put them?
Thanks.

What exactly is CNA ? If you are trying to build a pure android source I would look at the source code alquezs cyanogenmod port as that is the basic open source that came with the phones level of android (2.3 gingerbread) but as far as source and building is concerned I would look at your tut and when it gives you any reference to the original target device, swap it out for marvel. These things tend to be renamable to pretty much anything. If you link to the tut I can have a look over it for you and see if I can help

Codename android is a rom like AOKP or Cyanogenmod, it's a Jelly Bean only rom though I belive,
here is a thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1900448
and the GitHub
https://github.com/CNA
this is the tutorial I mentioned
http://www.crackflasher.com/threads/33-Guide-How-to-build-Android-roms-from-source-for-XT912-CM10-AOKP-AOSP-CNA
I know it's pretty vague but thats the best I can find
thanks again

Well, that does look like a cyanogenmod aokp aosp fusion with some new stuff.
As far as the guide is concerned just swap out the names of the downloaded files with the ones you are using, like pull the repo from your required github and not the one in the guide. Most of the commands for compiling will be the same as the compiler is for jellybean. As far as editing this github source code to make it run on the marvel I'm not so sure. You can look at the current cm10 roms here for some insight on how they made them work but this is where I get lost buddy

Porting of AOSPAL

Hi to all the devs here! You guys have been great at having AOSP rom and I personally have used them all but I have been in love with this rom on my Nexus 7 2013 & I believe the users will be also. Therefore I'm asking if there's any devs that's willing to help port this rom over to our devices...
Link to the rom is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2446576
And the source code is here: https://github.com/AOSPAL
Have you checked out this ROM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2616228 ?
Questions go into the Q&A....not the developers section !

This rom is alot different than AOSPA kitkat though its based on AOSPA kitkat but the mods and tweaks you get are one of a kind on AOSP rom

Request with linaro toolchain

As some people may have been reading an article about compiling all ROM using linaro in XDA portal toolchain or even it's kernel . At this moment I don't have the proper equipments to compile any ROM since my pc is very old .
And also here on XDA we don't have any Rom for our beloved HOX being compiled by any of these tool chains
So I'm placing a simple request here so some guy or developer can try out compiling a SENSE ROM or an AOSP Rom using any of the available toolchains
Since toolchains have proven to enhance performance very well

Absolutely no for sense base (close source). AOSP yes...but need little more work. For kernel as far I know, lyapota & next use linaro 4.7. Enhanced..but not with wow factor.

OK , sad news for any hope for sense based ROM, So I hope someone will be able to get a pure AOSP ROM being optimized by one of these tool chains

Yes, it's possible, just flash the kernel you want with cwm without wiping system or data. (Note that the kernel must be compatible with the rom!)

It is possible, but I don't think there is an overclocking kernel for PA yet. Deedwar wants to include it, but hasn't come to it yet. The AOSPA legacy ROMs will definitely not have overclocking though.
Hello @deedwar, @Redstarr1!
While we're on the subject, i was wondering if you could explain to me is it possible to use the boot.img from the newest experimental CM11 build by RaymanFX and use it (flash it) in AOSPA Legacy builds by Deedwar? Considering that the AOSPA legacy builds have cm as a base.
Thank you in advance!

Not this time you cant. He has upgraded a few very key areas that require newer sources that need to be included in the ROM itself. So you will have to wait till i get around to editing the kernel and adding it to my github for AOSPA to build from.
