No Search in Stock Email - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Hi,
Running CM 10.1 on Sprint GS3 and have stock email connecting to corporate Exchange server. There is no search feature in this program which is a pain. I ahve tried the stock email with pop3 mail servers and it's the same thing. Does anybody have a solution for this or an APK I can load to replace these? Others have stated they have search available in stock email.
I don't want to use Touchdown ok K-9 either.
Thanks.

Need help with Exchange account

Yesterday I finally bought a Desire, after few days of Android test on my Kaiser device.
On Kaiser I succeeded to create an Exchange account for my company email and to sync emails, calendar and contacts.
On Desire I receive an error regarding the server settings. I installed Roadsync and Touchdown and for them everything is OK.
Could be a problem related to the company certificates?
How I can solve it?
Thanks!
I installed the stock Android 2.2 email app and now everything is OK in the email side.
But the calendar and contacts are still not sync.
What exactly are your settings, where and how did you configure these, which Exchange version do you use and what is the resulting problem / error message?
kata2008: in the server settings try to put the FQDN of your server or in otherwords the complete name and domain name of the server
example:
ex10.mydomain.com
Hello,
For server name I'm using the ip address.
HTC Email application create the errors. I installed the stock 2.2 email app and now is OK. I can sync the emails.
But now I have another problem: I can't sync contacts and calendar. I installed the stock 2.2 calendar application, but is no link to the stock email application.
As I see, I need to use the stock apps, not the HTC provided by Desire.
Do you now how I can install correctly stock 2.2 email, calendar and contacts apps?
good to hear that worked for you. i dont know if you could install the stock email for it is included with Sense.. As i know you need to use the RUU..
@kata2008
Please read this thread. Perhaps this is you problem too:

Finally, a step ahead.
I installed the 2.2 stock email app, I restarted the Desire and now I can sync emails and calendars.
I can sync contacts only from Exchange to Desire, but vice verse is not working.
If I want to add a contact in People, I can't choose the corporate account, only Gmail, SIM, Phone.
Do you now how I can fix this last step?

[Q] POP3 Email will not work!?!

Just came from bb to the G2 and love the phone, however i cant seem to get my work email to connect. I set the username, password, pop3 server, ports, and made sure everything matches correctly. It all goes through like it should work.....and then nothing. When i send test emails and click on "load more messages" i get nothing. Any ideas why this isnt working?
Not sure if this matters, but i am running miui 2.3.4 - 1.5.6
Ok so i can send emails just fine from this account. Seems like it is just the incoming server. Did a double check and everything matches in the account settings with what is on my outlook account. Any help would be awesome. Thanks.
I had some problems getting the stock email app to work as well. I switched to K9 Mail (its free in the Market) and that works just fine for me.
Tried K9 and still no luck. Anyone else have success with a pop3 email account on the G2, or android in general? Thanks.

Email app only downloading old messages?

I have set up my email account with the Samsung built-in email app, but it seems to only download old messages. Right now I'm seeing emails from 2006. Is there any way to make it download the newest messages on the server, instead of the oldest ones? As it is now, it is totally useless.
On a related issue, if I want to use the built-in email app with my Gmail account (I would rather use a single email program for both Gmail and my work email without having to switch between apps), is there any way to get the "recent:" functionality working? When I try to set my username with recent: before my email address, as Gmail has you do to only get the last month of email, the Samsung mail app says my login is wrong.
Both of these worked fine with the HTC mail app on my old Hero, so I'm kind of surprised if Samsung's mail app can't do it.

What type of email do ypu have?
I've only tried it connecting to Gmail, with the Gmail POP3/SMTP servers. I know that Google encourages us to use the Gmail app for that, but it seems so strange that Samsung can't get their mail app to work properly with Gmail.
I've been using K-9 mail for the last few weeks, but it seems to have its own problems, but unlike the Samsung app it actually works reasonably well enough. Unfortunately I have yet to find a mail client that works as well as HTC's, though. Maybe I just need to learn how to program this thing and fix K-9 myself.

No push email on GN? Other email issues.

I came from the Droid Charge and found the push email to be nice. I am kinda disappointed that the GN does not offer push and have to rely on 3rd party app...oh well.
What's also odd is that for whatever reason my Roadrunner email account will not work on the stock GN email app...I came from a Droid Charge and it worked fine on the stock email app...prior to that I was on the Fascinate and it didn't work. I don't know but there is something with the Charge email app that made it work and something the about the Fascinate and Nexus email apps that make it fail...odd!
Of course there is push mail - Gmail.
I was referring to the stock app as not having push. I got my email to work on Maildroid and Seven, but the crazy thing is that it won't work on K9 or Enhanced Email...I get connection errors. Well at least I get push email now.

"Stock Email App" on a Nexus device is the actual Android Open-Source email app. Same with the browser, messaging, and everything else. With the exception of Music, which for some reason is the closed-source Google Music.
"Stock Email App" on a Droid or other branded device could be anything!
The answer is of course "download whatever email client you want to". A few of them support IMAP "push" email.
You can get Gmail to push you if do a manual setup using the stock email app, by setting up Gmail as Exchange.
Gmail Exchange ActiveSync server address: m.google.com
Gmail Exchange ActiveSync domain: google
Gmail Exchange ActiveSync user name: Your full Gmail address ([email protected], e.g.)
Gmail Exchange ActiveSync password: Your Gmail password
Gmail Exchange ActiveSync TLS/SSL required: yes

The charge uses the touchwiz UI. it probably uses a different email client than stock android.
push email is supported by the stock email app, but if you're looking imap push, it does not support imap push email.

Exchange stock ICS email app.

Hello all,
Firstly sorry for asking this question if it has been asked before, but i cannot find an answer anywhere.
I'm looking for the Stock ICS EMail app that works with exchange email. I have installed the stock ICS email apk but it doesn't give me exchange settings, only POP and IMAP.
Reason being I don't like the HTC Stock Email app, it just show my emails like my S2 did.
Other than installing K9 Mail etc is there away of getting the stock ICS email app working??
