[Q] Opinions wanted: Best rom for vidoetron s3...?? - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Yes, of course I know it's subjective, that's why the title asks for opinions. My one year warranty expired next month, so I am ready to consider a new rom. But, as I understand(which may be an overstatement) not all roms will work with videotron. So, I seek opinions on the various choices.
What works well. Why you like one over another. Features. Etc.
I still have the original one on, although I did root it. But I wanna get rid of all the bloat etc.
Thanks.(and sorry for such a lame question)

Well first, fave rom questions are always closed and are not viewed favorably.
Second, all roms in this forum should work just fine on any T999V.

Jb roms

Totally new to this phone. Cracked my tbolt last week, got a used 32gig nexus. Ive unlocked, rooted, runnin liquid jb with imo newest kernel. I went with those first because im familiar with both devs. My question, and i love flashing, what are your fav rom/kernel combos for this phone. I found stock jb to be great, but didbt want to pay extra for tethering. I use it, but not often enough for $30 a month. Thanks in advance dudes n dudettes.

Threads like this have been beaten to death (atleast 1 per day). Go to q&a section, click the "search this forum" tab and enter "best rom".
*edit* they should really stop letting people create threads from the xda app...
good day.

Just a warning to you, threads like this are no longer allowed on xda. My suggestion is do a little reading through the roms your interested in and then do a little bit of trial and error until you find what your looking for.

Uh, i did not ask for "best rom" i asked what peoples favorites are. If you cant read, refrain from commenting. Geez, do people read before they type? Ive been a member a very longtime, never ceases to amaze me how people want to be the first to turn a thread into a flame off. All im trying to do is get ideas. Tbolt has almost no roms compared to here. These threads are active, im trying to keep up. If you dont have a fav combo, dont comment. If it needs to go to qna, thats fine by me.

With the amount of users and different versions of the device we do get overwhelmed with these types of questions.
Everyone will have different opinions about their favorite ROM, but if you wish to discuss the different features each one has please use one of the threads already created for that.
There is a sticky in Verizon's development section that is a good place to start.

Why take all the effort to restore the stock ROM and stock bootloader, when i'm sure someone will have a custom ROM based on the official build, possibly in a day or two?

Yup, that's what I'm waiting for. Why Odin back to stock just to have a bloated Sammy rom, when soon enough one or more of our highly respected Devs will have top notch roms for the flashing.

There's already a rom that came out. It's based on Rogers. It's exactly the same as at&t without bloatware. I have it and it runs great.

I've NEVER understood why in the world people want the "official" updates when they can simply wait a day or 2 for ROM chefs to cook up a bloat, crap free ROM! Why go thru the whole unroot, flash the update then re root again...... Makes NO sense to me, must be really impatient n00bs or something lol justsayin

I run this also, and it works great, but I will say that it's not EXACTLY the same. The lock screen news feed doesn't work, says it can't determine my country...in other words, not Canada, no newsfeed. It's minor stuff.
Shouldn't this be in Q&A/locked due to the fact that there's a discussion thread already for this?

The only reason people are getting "*****y", as you say, is because you posted your "question" in a development forum. I also was a noob at some point and still act like one here and there but I also show the fellow Xda'ers, devs, and mods alike respect by following the rules of xda and not getting snippy with the people trying to inform of a mistake made. Development sections are strictly for Rom releases and their corresponding threads. Had you posted this in the q&a section no one would have said a word to you. Friendly advice from a semi noob to a complete noob!
Ps people could get a whole lot meaner by the way!! Consider yourself lucky so far!

So many things wrong in this thread
First development is for developers only to post threads
so moving to General
Second there already is a bunch of these so please search before posting
There is a sticky thread in General for this topic to prevent 30 of the same threads
So thread closed
Thanks

I know the frustration of seeing someone complain about something know to be issues or someone thinking it's a problem with the rom when no one else has issues. Just remember we where all noobs at one time or another and remember that one person that helped you out with something vs the person that flamed you for not knowing.

I was that at one point also, when the G1 came out and JesusFreke was making roms, and people had to use ADB to obtain root and be able to flash things. I learned since then and read and read and read. The problem now a days is that most don't care to read a little, or at all. Most of the questions asked in a thread are answered, or been discussed, or don't even belong in the dev section. This is extremely aggravating to the devs, or themers, when they right up a huge OP and no one uses it, and just clutters up their dev thread with useless questions and/or nonconstructive criticism. I don't blame him for quitting or locking the thread, if people feel it's at its prime, then leave it alone and don't touch it anymore. Most of the TouchWiz roms have the best version yet to come, or they came and went a while ago. Most of the mods they incorporated are flashable on your own, anyways. Thank him and respect decisions, or use one of the other 10+ TouchWiz roms.

Jesusfreke was the pioneer of modding for Android. Without him I believe that we would not be as far with android as devs, manufacturers, or even android its self.
Look at thouchwiz its self with the toggles in the notification Window. This came from cm. We the community can end up pushing for devs with true innovation to go back underground where their work is not seen in mass people, Google, or manufacturers. Then android may end up missing what could become greatness all for petty arguments. I follow one such dev in a private forum and it's a shame he was forced to by thing like this.

Hey guys,
I let this thread go for awhile (I was logged on when he created it) and you all have said your piece/peace, in an almost professional manner which I for one appreciate very much. But now it is time for this OT thread to be closed. I do invite you to the Official OT thread to continue this discussion, as a few have already been doing.
Thanks you for being civil about it, but the time for this thread has expired.

[Q] Which TW Rom do you believe is the best on AT&T Note II? Why?

I'm just curious and want to hear answers from you guys, what do you believe is the best TouchWiz ROM on the Note II? If you could list your pro's and con's I would greatly appreciate it.
Also, if you're running AOSP Roms, I'd like to hear your reason why you got away from TouchWiz?
Thanks in advance!
The best one is the one that suits your needs best! Why else would there be so many good ones to chose from? Try them and or read about them and find the one that you like. This will be closed soon I'm sure.

Clearly, you didn't read. I am just trying to start a conversation on what ROM you are running and why you like it the most. I'm not asking for myself so that I can flash a ROM.
I happen to like threads like these. I just hate when a bunch are opened. The whole idea that all roms are created equal is the silliest thing I've seen since youth sports that don't keep score. That said some roms are better than others depending on what your looking for.
My favorite thus far has been Wanamlite over in the 7105 forum. Works great on my ATT note. I've been testing out Jedi for the last day or so and it's been good, but I think I'm going back. Things like per app dpi and pie don't interest me at all and that's the only reason why. I lower the dpi all together and use a different launcher, phone, messaging and so on apps. Just like TW for multi-window and S-Pen.

Exactly . Threads like this are not allowed and im pretty sure all the stickies in each sub forum say so.
There is no best rom other than what suits you.
Thread reported
All,
"Best Rom" threads are not condoned, they may serve a purpose for the immediate short term, but almost all the time they spiral into arguments about one over another - "Best" is a subjective term.
No more! All users are expected to read and study and flash the ones they are interested in and have discussion in the specific thread(s).
This thread is closed.

Do you mean with active download links in general? Or do you mean threads with active development; because that would be easy to find without a list... Android Development->any thread with activity in the last month... Galaxy S4 Unified builds->most all threads.
A one stop shop as it were to kinda help the new little flashers find what they want a little easier as longs as the devs don't mind us posting the dl links saves everyone time and would help promote the s4 roms alittle bit.... In my opinion

Dont post download links post thread links.
For a 2 reasons
One, people will take it as your work.
Two, youll have a q&a of multiple roms in one thread and will confuse the hell out of people.
Make a "directory" kernels, roms, recoveries, mods, themes, firmwares, etc etc with linksto threads. If you keep it up to date and maintained a mod will gladly sticky it at the top of the forum here in general. We use to have one. But hasnt been updated in probably a year

Three, most developers prefer that you don't link directly to downloads for tracking reasons. (And they REALLY don't like mirror hosting for the same reason)
If you do decide to go ahead and make this list, you might want to consider going to the I9505 International forums because a lot of those ROMs work on our M919 T-Mobile device. I'm currently running the International Phoenix ROM on my T-Mobile device and it runs perfectly.

90% of the i9505 Roms work on the galaxy S4 M919 phones...but in the end ya its kinda like u just gotta download and test them out. most people just go to the i9505 development page here on xda for the roms as the development seems more active on that forum thread. heres a link to the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9505-develop
