you at wrong section dude. .please follow the rules. .

check in about phone if you have baseband..if you dont, try a full wipe and reflash a stock rom
oh, and read this first before posting in development section
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818390

Don't post questions in Development, moved to Q&A.
Thanks

If Boyheaddick's post don't help, go to Settings, Xperia, Internet and MMS settings. When at WiFi, it will download your APN.

Yea I would check your APN. If you don't have one make one or restore it like already suggested over wifi.

None, if you run any ruu.exe you will lose root. Instead you have to flash a stock rooted ROM. All ROMs are available here.
thank you for the response. sorry i put it in wrong section.

Thread reported.
And when i'm here, if you set wi-fi mac address filter on your router that is the problem. CM had some issues with mac addresses and they solved it with generating new mac address..

Same answer as above, Visit this thread to flash any of the Firmware you want http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/35239?start=0&tstart=0
Or since you have a locked bootloader, you can use SUS or PCC to repair your phone
Sorry i post in the wrong thread.

[Q] How to go from Cyanogenmod 10.1 to Sony Xpeia Arc S ICS 4.0.4 Stock rom?

Hey guys. I own the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S . I have rooted it and installed cyanogenmod 10.1.
Now the cyanogenmod is nice but it still has a lot of bugs and it lacks in a lot of aspects in comparison to the stock rom.
Now i would like to go back to the stock rom which was ICS 4.0.4
Is it possible to downgrade from 4.2 to 4.0.4 ?
if yes then a complete tutorial would be highly appreciated for my problem . Thanks in advance.
Use flashtool to go back to stock ICS..4.0.4.. You'll need the .587 ftf file.
If you wanna try a custom ICS rom.. Flash an ICS kernel.. Then the rom..
See the stickys and general section.

[Q] WiFi Hotspot not working on Dirty Unicorns

Sorry about the general post, I have flashed Roms from here since back in my Droid X days but have never done much posting, so it wont let e ask this on the DU thread.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the WiFi tether to work in settings. It looks like it sets up but never works and shows little or no connectivity on my laptop.
I love this rom and want to use it as a daily but HAVE to have hotspot use for my home or I get no internet in my rural community.
Any help would be appreciated!!!!

I am also running 7.9.
1. You posted into the wrong section. Questions go to Q&A thread.
2. Wi-Fi trust may be broken because of the kernel or ramdisk. If you flashed a custom kernel then that is probably the problem. If not then the problem is in the ROM. If you flashed that ROM without wiping data and cahce, then that may be the reason why Wi-Fi tether isn't working..

Sorry about the mispost. And thank you for still responding.
No custom kernel and i only dirty flashed 7.9 over 7.8 triple wiped before that.
I will wipe and reflash. Thanks again.
Still doesn't seem to work right after a clean wipe and reflash.

Ya it had been working on the other 4.4 ROMs like Slimkat.
Each night I go back to the last working backup of SlimKat to use WiFi tether and then have been running DU during the day.
Thanks

So the problem is in the ROM.
If you can then let the ROM devs know about this issue on their ROM. This may be just ramdisk related or then kernel related
