[Q] Xperia S 'camera not available' - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

I recently upgraded my Sony Xperia S (LT26) to Android 4.1.2 and everything was working well for a week... until the camera stopped mid-photo. I had been taking photos during the day and everything was fine, so I tried to start up the camera again and it crashed and said 'Camera not available'. I restarted the phone, but still the same issue.
I tried clearing all camera settings, tried a full settings reset, tried using the Sony Update Service to reinstall the 500MB update then tried a complete factory reset (including photos etc), but still nothing.
Any ideas what I can else I can do?

You could try flashing Cm10...
But for this you have to unlock your Bootloader.

Thanks, but unfortunately that didn't work either! I tried both the .200 and .211 files, but neither made a difference.
Could it be something to do with water damage, even if the water happened 3 months ago (and it's been fine since)?

[Q] Xperia S freezes randomly

Hi everyone.
I'm having a little problem with my Xperia S, it's kind of new (2 weeks of use).
When I'm using normally the cellphone, everything works great, but if don't use it for a long time and I grab it faster and unlocked it, sometimes the cellphone freezes! Well, not exactly freezing, it still works but VERY slowly, almost like freezing. I can't turn it off with power button, I had to user Power + Volume button to turn it off/restart it.
That happened in first week, so I unlocked bootloader and flash it another kernel (advanced stock kernel), and the problem was there.
Later I made a backup of the firmware (I updated to its last version with PC Companion, ICS btw) and flashed a custom ROM (XTXperience 4), and the problem was still there.
Yesterday I flashed a Generic ICS ROM downloaded from XDA Server using Flashtool, everything went normal until today, when the problem happened again.
I've been searching here in XDA and Google and still nothing seems clear of what is causing the problem, if it's the sim card or maybe a hardware problem. I'm going to relock the bootloader today, and I will try to repair the phone using SUS.
What is causing the cellphone to freeze? Hope someone help me with this. Thanks in advance!
btw, sorry about my english, hope you understand most of what I wrote
Well in my experience,
The phone freezes because it is too hot,
Or the RAM memory suddenly drops.
I mean sudden ur phone's RAM memory is 0.
I'm not sure too.
But I think reflashing the kernel, or flash other kernel will fix the problem
Try it

What ics firmware did you flash? And did you do a complete wipe when flashing?
Sent from my Jellybean Xperia S
I've flashed other kernel and yes, I do a complete wipe when I flash another ROM, via Flashtool or CWM.
I've been thinking of rolling back to GB to see what happens.
Yesterday my phone freezes like 2 or 3 times in less than 15 minutes. First time I reboot the phone and it was ok like 5 minutes, then it freezes. I reboot again the phone and happened again.
Its not even hot or using a lot of RAM, it always has like 250 or 200mb free
Did u play with CPU settings?

No, this is happening since the first boot of the phone. When I turned it on the first time it happened, and I had to search how to force a reboot because I didn't know how to do it LOL
It doesn't happen very often, but when it does is very frustrating!
Try flashing a new rom, but wipe the system partition too? I always do that to ensure a fully clean install.

I'm thinking in flashing a non based stock rom, like CM or MIUI, because I flashed XTXperience before and the freezing happened.
Oh, and the problem still exists. I believe Wi-Fi connection maybe it's the problem, I'm testing some things right now.
Had this too using Supercharger (by zep) but after few setting it's gone. Maybe you should try to run the script ?
It was with stock rom and advanced kernel v15/16.L
Well, I was on 6.1.A.2.45, I relocked the bootloader and an update changed the firmware to 6.1.A.2.55 using SUS without wiping data and the problem was still there, so I repaired the phone with SUS, it erased everything and the problem was gone for like 2 days. Today it happened again.

Well, I Supercharged my ROM now, which setting do you use to fix the problem? I'm still having it.
I even flashed a CM10 based ROM and its still happening! I think it's a hardware problem

NFC problem

I Have Sony Xperia s , rooted , unlocked boot loader , running stock based ROM , NFC works great with NFC tags , but when i want to share a photo with any NFC device , they will say NFC service forced closed , and it doesn't work , how to repair it
I think my problem is serious. When I got the phone 2 months ago, I've flashed .45 stock FW and everything worked fine. Last week I needed to use the NFC but it wouldn't turn. For a second the box is ticked and then goes back off. Now, I've tried SEUS, nothing. Flashed with Fashtool same .45, still nothing. Could this be a hardware problem?

The latest fw is .55 not .45. I think that's the problem.

I know .55 is the latest, but when I flashed .45, everything worked fine. Why doesn't work now?
.55 was dedicated to NFC corrections, especially introduced paying via NFC (that's what one of polish operator said introducing .55). However if you hadn't opened your phone (I mean you didn't try to get battery) you shouldn't damage it..
Tap Tap Tapatalk - Sony Xperia S
The thing is I did get the battery out. The OS got jammed and I had to remove it. Still, I have replaced the NFC specific file in the system folder. What else to do?

Random Reboots

Hi Everyone! I have a very annoying problem with Reboots.
I have Xperia ZL 6506, Bought a week ago.
I have Jelly Bean 4.2.2 (with latest firmware) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2459497
. But it makes no difference, because I tried 4.3. too and it didn't make any difference.
Tried Full Wipe! Tried ,422 and 2.67 firmware versions.
I had an Xperia arc S, and it went well with that, so I tried to install Custom Rom on Xperia ZL too.
Made my phone Root.
I tried everything, till I flashed the ROM and it gave me Random reboots.
Now I am on Stock Firmware, ROOTED, Bootloader Locked and having Random reboots (with no link to why it happens).
Wi-fi isn't guilty, because it happens with on and off Wi-fi Too.
One more, I tried repairing it with Sony PC studio, but it gives me "Sony Update Engine Failure (Error 1601). "
Please help me. I am sitting about 7hours and have found no solutions for me! I have an SD Card 16 GB (Came with the phone) - Tried to format it many times and nothing changed maybe Internal card is the problem?

Many have had this problem with the ZL and mine also to have this problem...the problem maybe lies with the internal battery...you need to send to Sony service center for replacement...cause nothing in this forum can solve that issue...just if you brave enough, you could change the internal battery yourselves to test if that's the problem...

Z1 compact sound not works after MX Player crash

Hi,
Greetings from Bali.
Last week, i buy a Sony Xperia Z1 Compact Docomo and upgrade it till 5.1.1 lollipop (before is Kitkat 4.4) install it it with standard apps (Instagram, Chat Messenger, MX Player, etc) also put HD film inside the phone storage (SD card not insterted)

Trying to research and found many way to fix it (install soundabout, clear cache, factory reset, flashing, downgrade to 5.0.2 and the camera is not working lol, downgrading again to 4.4.1 and camera solved but sound is still same) but no ones works.
Today i root my Z1 compact with kingroot, and still no clue about what to make the Z1 sound appear again.
Could you please assist me what to do?
Many thanks.

Definitely seems like hardware then... Strange coincidence that it happened right after a crash, though. I guess it might be worth a try to flash a custom rom and see if it works, (your roms are both stock, right?).

Sony Xperia ZL / Q C6403 Without Internal Memory

Good afternoon, I have a sony ZQ and wanted to put a cutomiza rom. Then I did the root in the device via KingoRoot, then tried to install a TWRP without using the PC but can not. I saw some tutorials and managed to install after unlocking Bootloader. So far so good.
I downloaded the rom of the cyanogenmod and the gapps and put in the memory card and tried to install. Open the TWRP, I went to wipi and I marked the dalvik cache and the cache, soon after I went to install and I marked the rom and tried to install, there began the problems. Made a mistake and I went to get another rom. I downloaded AOSP and tried installing and it worked, now I've installed the GAPPS. It worked.
But Rom was left with some bugs. Solve try another. I tried Cyanogenmod and from that done it installed but it was frozen in the logo of the little blue robot. I returned and did the whole process again with the AOSP rom that this time stopped with the bugs but gave up and wanted to return to the official 5.1 rom
I tried via Sony Companion but it was not possible because Bootloader was unlocked. So I tried Fleshtools, which this time installed but n started the system, appeared Sony and then left with the black screen.
I tried the rom 4.4.4 dai back to normal. IT WAS WHAT I THOUGHT.
Now the internal memory does not appear on the PC or Sony Companion and to make matters worse, the system is not working normally, the native applications are not working and mainly the PlayStore is saying that it has stopped working.
JA I TRIED TO RECOVER THE SYSTEM VIA SONY COMPANION BUT NOT GET IT. I TRIED TO INSTALL THE ROM 5.1 VIA FLASHTOLLS BUT IT DID NOT WORK AND I'M WITHOUT A DEVICE NOW BECAUSE ROM 4.4.4 IS NOT RUNNING RIGHT. WHO CAN HELP ME, THANK. :chorando::chorando::chorando:
I AM BRAZILIAN, IF I CAN TRANSLATE BEFORE POST THE COMMENTARY WOULD HELP VERY, THANKS.
