How do I flash Infamous S2? I flashed Infamous cache wipe then Infamous Super Wipe and then the rom but it didn't work! Also what is the best rom and kernel for battery life.

You should ask your first question in the infamous forum you will probably get your question answered there faster.
And for the second one I like linaro paranoid android with CI3kener's uber Kernel. That gives me both performance and battery life. But it really is your choice. As it's what you like that matters.
Regards,
Team Necessity
I use on demand kernel settings on my xylon port and it works like a charm

First what recovery are u using? It does matter, if ur on twrp u don't need the wipe scripts, just do a complete wipe, then flash the ROM, it should work, after flashing reboot and let the phone sit idle for about ten min, then reboot and set it up, remember the first boot will take a while so don't worry if it doesn't boot right up, as far as ur other question, personally I'm running Embryo 6 with cymbaline 3.5 kernel oc'd to 1.62ghz and I get about 4hrs screen on time with heavy use, but it's all how u use ur device too, try a few diff ones to find ur best settings...

I am thinking of installing another kernel with stock 2.2 and was wondering if anyone could suggest a good one. I am looking to overclock and do not care too much about battery life (but i dont want to completely throw it out the window) since i have an extended battery already.
Also, I am wondering if I will have to wipe my phone to install a new kernel (unless it depends on which one)
Thanks for the help

You'll need a Sense Kernel. Lou and Chad have them, and are overclockable. I use Chad's 12/23/2010. He also has AOSP kernels too, so don't download or try to install those in a Sense ROM, as it won't work! Make sure you are downloading the proper Sense kernel.
You'll want to wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache before flashing the kernel zip file.
EDIT: Link to Chad's Incredikernel 12/23/2010 Sense - link
EDIT: Lou's kernel thread link
I've been using Chad's for a while and get pretty good battery life. Unplug at 7:30am, plug in at around 11pm or after that... I'm sitting at usually 50-70% still. That's with data/wifi both off unless I turn them on to use them, on vibrate and light to medium texting throughout the day.

waiting for a kernel for new sense ROMs. not used to running at 998mhz
Hi guys,
It's been so long since I have flashed a new kernal, is it better to flash them before or after you flash a rom?
are there any recommendations you fine XDA members have for kernals if I want to use it with the latest AOKP
Thanks for the help!
Since most roms come with their own kernel, I flash the Rom first, then whichever kernel I plan on using.

boot into recovery.
wipe wipe wipe
flash rom
flash gapps is needed
if want, flash desired kernel

Kernel is always after the rom.
Rom's install a kernel themselves that will completely overwrite any kernel you had set.
I use LeanKernel. And stick to the stable versions.
But that's my preference. You'll have to flash a few to decide.
Kernel testing itself is a bit of a bore. You need to test each kernel for at least a full battery cycle to see how it responds for you.
Also keep in mind that you can tweak kernel settings like color control, sound control, undervolting, clock speeds, and cpu governors if you want more customization.
After the rom ... roms contain kernels so it overwrites any kernel installed already ...
Don't forget to wipe your Davlik Cache before flashing your kernel
Please Suggest a good order
custom Rom
Super Su
Gapps
custom kernel
or whichever order is good after ROM..?!!
How to tweak a kernel?

Hello dear Community,
i am owning a GN and i Rooted it about 2 weeks ago.
So now my problem is i tryed some Roms and Kernels.
But i wasnt happy with theese.
To much bugs or to fast Battery drain. And instable.
So my question is which Kernel and Roms are good?
I prefer:
Good - High Battery perfomance
Stable.
Can have a good design.
And a lot Functionality.
My GN is GSM. With Maguro.
Im Actually using PARANOIDANDROID.
Sry for my english, thats scool english
Ant thanks a lot for all replies
PARANOIDANDROID is a good ROM but a little Alpha imho. I recommend the following in order of quality and support. I'll recommend Franco nightly kernel with either LiquidSmooth 1.35 or FoxHound 0.6. I'd recommend BAMF but if you go to their thread for support, they got some real douches in there.
Well thank u for ur reply.
I am not a pro but a newbie at flashing roms and kernels.
But i wanna try ur Variation.
Can u explain me how to Install them?
thanks a lot

Me too.
Liquid 1.35 and Franco kernel gives great battery life and pretty good options and stability
AOKP milestone 5 & Franco gives options and stability, though the battery life does not match liquid.
To flash these ROMS, go to their threads and download rom and latest gapps(pls check if reqd or included in rom) onto phone.
Reboot into recovery
Take a complete back up
Factory reset
Wipe cache
Wipe dalvik
Flash new rom
Flash gapps if reqd
Reboot phone
Sign into google
Reboot phone
Wait a few mins
Reboot into recovery (if flashing kernel)
Wipe dalvik
Wipe cache
Flash custom kernel
Reboot phone
If using Franco then download the Franco paid app to get the best from the kernel.

Nightlies are the beta version of the kernel updated for testing on a regular basis. Always download the latest one. In that u have 512 gpu (overclocked) & 384 gpu. Try 512 first if it works for you without any issues (try with a game) then great, else flash the 384 version which is more stable.
If you want complete stability then go for milestone 3.

Since I can't post in thread because of requirements ill post here. Tried DSV04 #1&2 for ParanoidAndroid Hercules port, stays stuck @ Paranoid. Did wipe for both and waited over 10min. Just in case anyone was wondering if it worked since its CM9 based and yes I know it was only tested on a nightly which he stated in the OP, just testing in case others wanted to know. BTW Thanks for the Kernels, and Roms. Your Contributions to the community are always appreciated.

1. factory reset
2. wipe dalvik cache
3. Darkside Superwipe
4. Flash ICS radio
5. Flash Rom
6. Flash Gapps (for cm9 or aokp)
7. Flash kernel (optional)
8. Flash Darkside Cache Wipe.
9. Reboot wait for 10 min.
10. Reboot again.
11. enjoy
Follow these steps and you can never go wrong
I'm guessing you guys got it to work on your devices?. That is If you guys are posting the most obvious steps. I did all required steps in OP before flashing or posting this thread just posting my findings, Figured it just didn't play well with my hardware and seeing if anyone else got it to play nice with Paranoid since its been a Stable Rom, was looking for a bit more juice that's it..

DSV4 Kernel #3 works with it but borks camera, constant force close issues any suggestions? Running paranoid with the kernel on badass +cpu sleeper+underclocked to 1080 is giving me awesome life. For what I do on my phone at least.

Have you tried running it on the Skyrocket version? I believe the DSV04 was made for a newer version CM9 than what the Starskyrob version of PA. I heard that skyrocket pa + DSV04 + rotation fix = $$$
Nandroid and try it out.
That's been on my mind lately since the skyrockets is more up to date but I like to keep things simple. Ima give it a go though and see how it compares.

Hi I was wondering what is the best Kernel for the T-Mobile version of the SG2 when it comes to battery like and performance. Right now I am running CM10 4.1.2 and its stock kernel that comes with the ROM. I am fairly new to this whole process so if I flash a new kernel do I have to wipe everything or just the cache? Please help me. Thank you
You shouldn't need to wipe everything but I do if I can. Ocd.
Also, some ROMs are not compatible with all kernels and vise versa. There is no best kernel IMO. Just test em out.

Like said before, there isn't a best kernel. But read through the threads and but can see what each one does and it's problems.
I would recommend lightning zap but u have to do some digging in the pages. It's stable, best performance and battery life
Also u don't have to wipe anything but it's recommended to flash after a new rom flash
