Does anyone know why my phone automatically changes songs and the volume? Like when I'm walking with headphones, it'll change songs all of a sudden and increase volume to full blast. (This issue is only with headphones.)
I've tried different ROMs, kernels, and they're all the same. The issue keeps coming back. I've noticed this started happening since the latest boot loader update so I'm wondering how can I fix this or if anyone else has this issue?
Its really bugging me cause I can't listen to music properly.

Did you try different headsets?
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda premium
A headset with a button will have this issue while a headset without it doesn't. Even if I sit there and don't move at all, the songs and volume still changes on the one with a button.

I looked just about everywhere, but couldn't find anything.
While listening to music on my phone (flac and mp3, on phone not the cloud) I get skips and pops when I multitasking. Does anyone else have this problem? This doesn't happen all the time, but enough for me to put the question on here.
Nonrooted locked and stock (yes yes I will do it this next week.)

Phone speaker, wired, or Bluetooth?
I'm asking because I've seen an issue with music skipping over Bluetooth while the wifi was scanning.
I haven't noticed skips wired or through the speaker, however.

While using Google Music, streaming, I get skips and pops on longer songs (Hour long mixes).
This is on cell data w/ headphone jack.
Issue goes away for a few seconds when you pause the track and press play again, only to return.
Wired.. Always resolves itself, but annoying.

Okay.. I replicated it if someone can check...
Open music and play. Then go into the browser, and select a bookmark. Does it nearly every time.

Start playing a song and hit the three dot settings tab in the upper left select sound effects and turn on the EQ. You can change the EQ to to the flat setting if you want the music to sound as it did before. This fixes a lot of the music player sound issues.

Actually it does. People have reported before that turning on the EQ stops the skipping/crashing problem.

If you have a clue than you would know that it does fixing skipping issues so keep your "not trying to be rude" comments to your self if you are unaware of a fix.

Hi. I was wondering if anyone else could reproduce an issue I was having with my phone. While listening to music thru headphones if I make or receive a call after hanging up audio doesn't return right away. It takes a lil while and it then comes back. I can reproduce this over and over again. Was wondering if it was just my phone.

Anyone willing to test. Any carrier.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
Mine works... But maybe you can define "a while"
I know what he means it will not playing again until a minute or so
Which app are you using to play the music. And or is there any other music player app also alive in memory,

Thanks guys for the assistance. I use poweramp. But I can reproduce it with the stock music player also. Music playing > make or receive call and music pauses like it should> I hang up> music does not resume and I can't hear any sounds from the phone at all for at least 15secs. I only use one music player at a time so only one should be in memory.

This is what i do i talk through my car speakers and or headphones pending what im using i unhook right before i hang up let the audio play through the phone speaker then reconnect it again its annoying but it works
Also i use poweramp and it has this problem even though poweramp has a setting to resume call
Thanks man. I've been experiencing this issue since I bought the phone. And it doesnt matter the ROM rather its stock, blazer, or cm10. Its the same issue.

Hey master acehole. I think I found a lil fix. Thru power amp settings and headset settings I raised the headset handler priority. The sound loss stopped. Thanks for all of ur help bro.

Having the same issue
I'm having the same issue on my S3 running poweramp, though I'm not on Sprint (got it unlocked, international).
The only differences:
- I'm using a bluetooth headset
- The song resume's but there's no audio from the headset at all (not even after 5, 10 minutes - however long)
- I have to turn bluetooth off/on to get the audio back
I also tried using the stock player with the same results!
Would love to know if it's a problem with the phone, app or headset.
Thanks
Exact same issue here. Must be a samsung thing because many people are having it across ROMs and music players, so annoying! Anyone find a fix yet?
I can verify this as well.
Happens with Amazon MP3, Stitcher Radio and Audible for me.
The delay for me is at least 1 minute, but if you close the audio app and reopen it, then everything is fine (so it can work before the 1 minute).
Try Monkey Media player
Try monkey media player, I had the same issue with my S3, but with Monkey media it got resolved. just an FYI you had to play with settings
It seems that my calk volume is much lower now and whenever I use the in call volume increase button sound pops and becomes static...anyone else experience this?

Ever since android 4.2 came out poweramp hasn't worked properly on my nexus, no matter what ROM I'm using. I've always had the direct volume control option selected in the program and haven't had issues before. But on 4.2 with that enabled whenever I first open up poweramp the music plays loud but when I change the song the volume gets real low and stays that way. So I have to turn the volume real high. Problem with that is the next time I open the app and listen to music the first song is deafeningly loud and the volume goes down once I skip the track. This problem doesn't happen if I disable direct volume control in the app but when you do that the audio quality becomes terrible. Anyone have a solution?

Hey guys, I am over on the Sprint forums. I need help trying to see if you guys have the same problems with the wired headset controls I am. Also, if you know of a fix that would be stupendous.
The issue is the pause/play feature doesn't work with the native music app or Google Music. You also can't skip tracks or any other feature.
If music is playing and you click the button once it opens the dialer. If the screen is off it did nothing at all. I have tried various headset control apps on the market with no luck. A few of these apps have a debugging setting. The app will notify you when you click the headset button so you can try and get the app to work. As you can already guess nothing shows when you click the button.
Thanks for the help!

Seems more related to keylayout. Maybe the mic button is mapped to voice dialer or something like that.
Well, it should work in two ways. When no music is playing the single button push should open the dialer. The single long press should open voice actions.
Now, I am not sure how it is suppose to work while music is playing. It seems like I have had one phone that would only control music with the screen off.
I agree there is a mapping issue. How do you think it is suppose to work while music is playing? Does the screen being off or on matter? There should be some way to pause/play and skip tracks without pulling out your phone and changing it in the music app.
Thanks for the reply.

Hmm, if it has different option then it's not in keylayout but in the framework. Whitin the framework it's easy to tell if it's playing music or not. Where in the framework, i don't know.
I have the same problem. I posted the same post problem and nobody wrote on it. I plug it in and the button does nothing off and when it's on it goes to dialer. I've used all of the key mapping apps like sound about and headset controller and it won't fix it.
Also, on player pro there's an option to override the button and that function does not work at all

Bump for 3 button issues.
Working perfect with stock Rom, LG Headphones and poweramp, press 2/3 times for next/previous song and 1 for play/pause
Still won't work for me.

I don't see any other post covering this, so I'm bumping.
Same here. using the same one, I've tried, poweramp, winamp, google music, stock music, and most of those have options to take control of the headset buttons for music. I even tried a few apps on the play store made for overriding headset controls to make music buttons. No matter what I do, It always opens the dialer when I click instead of pausing my music.
I listen to my music on my motorcycle, and I can't exactly pause my music while I'm riding, so if I'm probably gonna have to try some custom firmwares if I can't get this figured out.
AOSP seemed like the only thing that worked.

Called LG today and the tech told me that the phone was designed for Sprint to work with bluetooth headphones, not wired headphones. Would have been nice to now before I purchased the phone.
Same problem - bizarre
can't believe this. Just switched from iPhone, it was terrible not being able to run software I wanted, but at least it knew what to do with a button press.
Still nothing on this?
Still on stock rom, does CM handle this better?
