You need a jig to get it into download mode. if that doesnt work I believe its hard bricked. Make sure you pull the battery prior to trying to get into DL mode.
What does the phone do? Vibrate or anything?
It doesn't do a thing

Btw... Yes i have pulled the battery prior to plugging the phone into the computer..

Tell your friend to gwt a jig and give that a shot.
Maybe run adb devices while phone plugged in, to see if it gets recognized.
Thanks cozza will do..

Damn dude i finally got the jig together and it didn't work... He's really bummed.. I just told him to smash his phone and call t mobile and get another one under his warranty.. That's the only thing i could think of.. Btw i will be getting a galaxy s2 in about a week.. I just ordered it... I initially purchased the htc amaze.. It's a good phone but i don't like the connection at all. In youropinion what's the first room i should install? Thanks man.. I will be holding on to that jig btw.. Just incase... Lol

I just bought a T989 off ebay. Came busted. QHSUSB_DLOAD. No reason to believe the seller was screwing me. Called Samsung. Less than 10 minutes later I received an email with the prepaid postage to send it in for repairs. They'll get it today.
I don't know that smashing it is a good idea. If still covered by T-Mobile just say it's not working. Should be enough and it may get refurbished which is better then tossed in the trash.
Well he bricked it and i tried everything to help him and instead of him sending it back and they finding out he rooted it.. He would have got stick making two phone payments.. I mean it was my only other idea.. That jig didn't work and that was the last idea.. Just comes down to reading everything before you flash... T mo... Can and will find out if the device has been rooted then you will get stuck making two payments.. His phone wasnt paid off yet...

Hi all,
I know this seems to be a wide spread problem and I've read through several threads hoping to fix the problem but nothing seems to be really working for me :/
This first happened while I was running 4.0.3. Wifi was working fine. Then one day when I went to switch it on like I normally ever would, it seemed to get stuck at the "Turning Wi-Fi on..." message. Reboots didn't help anything.
So I decided to upgrade to 4.1.1 thinking that doing a factory reset and flashing a new ROM would fix things. Flashed Paranoid Android ROM with no problems (wiped data, dalvik cache, etc etc) and saw the same problem with wifi when I tried turning it on. Reboot did nothing. Tried flashing the boot.img manually and that did nothing. Tried flashing Trinity kernel and once again nothing.
Can anyone help me out? This is really killing me and I think it's also destroying my phone's battery life as well
My Galaxy Nexus is GSM yakju if that helps out at all.
Thanks!!
This was also my problem... except my phone rebooted every 2minutes... I just flashed stock everything and then sent it to Samsung

Bump.
So any other suggestions other than dead wifi chip?
Unfortunately, your phones WiFi chip is dust! Same thing happened to me! Did some research and found out that its a known issue! Sent mine in and received a new Gnex four days later!

How does this work exactly? Do you need a receipt or anything? I'm guessing I need to flash back to stock rom and unroot? And probably call or talk to Samsung to get it set up? Any other details I'm missing?
Thanks!

Well for me, I bought GNEX from someone else and I had to ask the guy to give me the receipt cuz Samsung wouldn't take it unless I show proof that the phone was from Canada (I live in canada)
Also I would recommend flashing to stock uprooting and re locking... Just in case

Well I guess you have to contact your friend. Also, if you can't get a support from Samsung (I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't help you...) I guess you have to go to any repair shop, since it looks like a hardware problem.

Hey guys,
I am having an issue with my phone. I had CM10-M2 running on my phone and I didnt like it that much because I missed some of the stock features so I decided I would flash the foxhound 1.3 rom that just came out. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1708371 that one.
I followed the instructions and did everything that was recommended.
The phone turned off and now won't even go into recovery or anything. Just a black screen.
Please help!
ps the phone is on Rogers and is an i747ma
Thanks,
Zach
Edit: I dont know what this means but when I take the battery out and plug it in the red light comes on but still nothing else

If I cant get the screen to turn on at all should I be getting a USB jig or getting JTAG service?

Odin isnt recognizing the phone but when I plug it into my computers it stills chimes that something has been plugged in. Also when I connect it to a power source without the battery in, the LED turns red.
Any tips?

Welp ****. I took it to Rogers but since I bought it off of kijiji they couldnt do anything. It was bought on October 2nd and they said I couldnt even send it for repair because it wasnt registered to me.
I called Samsung and they said to ship it for a repair but even if they can't repair it, they couldnt replace it. The lady said she would have to tell Rogers to replace it but Rogers already said they wouldnt.
What do?

Did you actually get it from the Rogers store? Because when you do they can issue replacements but when you buy it from somebody else they said that they couldn't do it.

Seems like you should research more before flashing roms. If you find out how to fix your phone be more careful next time. If you aren't sure always ask in the Q&A section. A comment from a user can save your phone.
Hey Question did you even try a JIG ? that is the only thing that will get you into DL mode when soft bricked

Hey XDA Fam bam!
I have the T-mobile branded Note II and i'm experiencing the following problem:
Very weak signal.
Here's a little background. I rooted the phone and installed pmtr3 first V1 Rom and everything was perfect.
Then played around with other roms too and then the signal went every weak.
Then when I went back to pmtr3's first rom my signal did not improve. I would lose connection
everywhere. I replaced my tmo sim card, but I still experience this problem. I also went back to my stock nandroid backup, but it still did not help my signal problem.
Is there some sort of radio or modem I can flash? Am I the only one experiencing this problem?
I'm thinking it can be a hardware problem, but Idk. What input do you have my XDA fam bam?

Rooting isn't a factor related to sds bug.
It is advised not to try anything and return it to service center.

So now i am stucked, and the problem is that i don't live in the us, so i can't go in a service center because there are not service centers in my country. Is there any help, please?

It happened to yesterday and even after trying countless times factory reset/wiped data and flashing Rom I still got stuck in a bootloop. So I went into recovery cwm and formatted system, data, etc and then refreshed the Rom and it worked. However my imei number was then changed to a generic one and I had to restore efs. Lucky I had a backup of it on my pc at all times.
