I just tried using VMLite VNC via WiFi, it works good, but a little bit lag.
I want to control my s2 with PC because I want to play a specific game with a mouse pointer (my finger seems to be too thick that it functions in both blocking my sight and inaccurate touch very well). However, it is too laggy using VMLite VNC via WiFi. It cannot use via USB Debug due to unknown reason and even if it works, the game would be automatically closed when root access is on or USB debug is on (when I play on the S2 directly I have to turn both off).
I just greedily wonder, up to now, is it possible to control an android device with a PC via USB or other effective means without root access and USB debug so that a smooth control of the android device could be achieved.
For my case, if the root access and USB debug is just for initiation and then the remote control can work without them would be perfect already, like VMLite VNC I have to initiate it via USB Debug then I can turn USB debug off without disconnect the remote control.
EDIT: I resolved my problems on playing games by enabling some pointer related option in developer option, but still, I wonder is it possible to control an android device with a PC via USB or other effective means without root access and USB debug
You could try TeamViewer - they make an app for Samsung Galaxy phones.
You need TeamViewer on your PC and TeamViewer QuickSupport app on your phone.

i need this function the function i use like in iphone that i use thru VNC anyone have an idea if this is possible or not?
i tried screencast but i can only see the screen and i cannot control it thru my pc
also its super slow even in usb connection
I used to be able to view and control some of my older phones on my PC through the USB connection, but I haven't been able to find out if this is possible yet with android phones, specifically my new GN2. I know I can get the dock and hook up one of my PC monitors to a switch, and I also know there is a way to connect a bluetooth keyboard/mouse, and then use a HLA adapter to run a monitor. I have also looked at a couple programs that use VPN connections to "host" android devices on websites that you can access with your PC via web browser, but as far as I can tell you are limited to what you can do (web browser, messaging, email).
I'm really looking for a stand alone program that I can open on my PC that, when connected to my GN2 via USB, will duplicate the devices display in a window and allow control of the device with the PCs keyboard and mouse. Does such a program exist? Thanks all.
i have never seen anything like this. What would be the purpose of this?
To control my phone with my workstation peripherals while at work if I want to view a website that is blocked by my works firewall, or simply to respond to a text message without having to turn on my phones screen
i want to run program on my laptop which is used to change setting on a esc (electronic speed controller) through a usb cord.
i would like to do it remotely from my S3 with a OTG cable, wireless connected to my laptop
is it possible to run a windows program and have that program use the usb info wireless from the phones otg usb?
sorry if this is confusing
thanks
You'd have to plug the USB into the laptop and use Splashtop. Can you explain better the situation you're in?? Draw a diagram or something hah...
i need the laptop at home, phone offsite.
phone needs to act as wireless usb and run .exe off computerr
That's just not going to happen. Any reason you can't take the laptop with you? Seems like a quick and easy solution.
So from what I'm getting is that the esc is plugged into the laptop, and you wanna change it's settings from your phone wirelessly? Then on the laptop, download vnc server, on the phone, from the market, download vnc and use vnc to connect to the laptop and control it as if you were in front of it.

No man.
Thingy plugged via USB into phone.
Phone remotely controls laptop which remotely accesses phones USB port to run an exe on the laptop to modify the thingy plugged into the phone.
^^^ yes exactly
it would just be nice not to bring the laptop.
they say they are working on an android app but there are power and other problems, so i was trying to find a work around
Hi all,
I was wondering if there is a way to program (Make apps) on your PC (With eclipse or any IDE) and while debugging, instead of having the IDE communicate with the device via USB, have it communicate with the device via Bluetooth or any other way thus avoiding USB.
I'm new to android programming and so far is awesome except for the fact that I tangle my self with the USB cable alot.
Thanks!
CyanogenMod has Debugging over network I believe.
I use ADB wireless app from play it lets me connect with my gs3 over my wireless network for adb push pull not sure it you can use it for programming I never tried other than pushing apks

Hoping someone might be able to help me on this as it's driving me mad now: my digitizer on my Xperia S LT26i has broken and is not responding to any touch, there is a whole host of of stuff on the HDD i want to copy to the PC. Is there a way to do this without the phone screen?
I have tried sony PC companion but this states that the screen needs to be unlocked and i have also tried opening the phones folder via file explorer but this is returning nothing (blank and no error message but takes a while to scan the directory).
Are there any other ways to for communication between the HDD and PC? I.E. is there a method to connect the HDD to the PC while to phone is off like a standard flash drive or perhaps a way to control the phone via USB via needing to install or configure anything on the phone itself?

Anyone? I was pondering usb on the go and connecting a wired mouse but not sure if this would be usable on this device? Would like more info before purchasing a USB on the go lead.
Also it would appear that the screen is not responsive as it think it's being pressed all over the scren. I.E. i can launch the camera but the autofucs jumpts all over the place - would this present an issue if using a mouse?
