I got a bad imei galaxy s3 on ebay with the intention of using it internationally, but I tried paying an unlocking service and they couldn't get my unlock code, and i tried this http://www.worldwebsurfers.com/2013/04/free-tip-for-unlocking-samsung-galaxy-s3.html but when I got to the point where i had to press [4]NW LOCK NV DATA INITIALLIZ that button didn't exist so now my phone is locked and blocked on t-mobile.... Is there anything i can do?

Downgrade your modem and try again. The latest one was patched.
@DJ_SpaRky I tried downgrading to UVLEM it didn't help, any other specific one to try?

I got my UNlock code put in a at&t SIM..... put in code... then it said unlock successful...
But upon checking this unlock with this code.
*#7465625# it still says locked!!!
Will someone punch in this code that has there phone unlocked and see if it says network lock off.
Or if it still says locked!!!???
It's driving me crazy......

I purchased mine as unlocked but haven't had the chance to try another company's sim card on it to verify that.
I checked with the *#7465625# code and it looks exactly like yours.
I unlocked my sgs2 and tried that code and everything is OFF.

It looks like you are in different ROM. To unlock ur phone you need to be on stock ROM!
I did it on my s2. I was unable to use code on AOKP so i flash stock rom, unlock , rooted again and back to stock again.

Not really. Looks like that code won't show the correct status for S3. This is how it looks on stock rooted.

I was on stock when I did it... rooted... but stock... seems to me that on the tmo. Version.... it doesn't display properly....
I put in att chip and it sent me a welcome message and I can call 611 .... just got an activated chip.... no money on it thow...
But on you tube it shows some s3 switching to off below the lock statues ... it MUST be the tmo version.... wish I could see ur posted pics rakeshchn......

I requested and received the unlock code from T-Mobile. I tested this by making a call using an AT&T sim card.
My screen is identical to the one above, including the typo. My phone is definitely unlocked!!!
Same thing, as all of you. I get the same pop up. I tried it yesterday with an att SIM card and it worked on their network.

I've read threads about Tmobile being friendly enough to send you a unlock code, but I currently have AT&T. Does that affect the process any?
Yes att does give out lock codes ... just have to wait a certain amount of days..and once unlocked always unlocked... flash away..

So they can be used same AT&T on Bell canada and vice versa? Even unlocking a bell or even togers to use on Straight Talk ising an AT&T sim?
Some people have reported that flashing the wrong carrier's modem had wiped their IMEI.

I'd avoid it especially since it probably won't make a world of difference even if the performance was different. If the hardware is perfectly identical, I'm sure it would work but I still wouldn't want to try it.

Ok i was just being curious if it would be a massive undertaking.
i bought a at&t note 2 1 month ago that had bad imei on at&t,i didnt care because i was going to use on tmobile, well out of nowhere i loose signal and phone now says searching for network i called tmobile to see if imei was block from there service too and guy said no everything looks fine , what else can it be ?i flashed radio again and same problem,
must have been reported stolen?

Sir at&t and tmobile are sharing their blacklists with each other .. Tmobile wont say that it is blocked from their network because it is blocked from at&t's network

I would say that if it was working b4. Are you on a custom Rom? What radio/modem are you running? Have you tried to charge that? Also another thing have you tried changing the APN? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2172110
There's many things that can cuz that to happen. I'll say if your in a custom Rom then start over! Maybe it's some thing simple.
Also when you unlocked it did you change anything else, in the hidden menu?

I'm confused, if your imei is there then it shouldn't be blacklisted, right? Call att and see if they have it on their blacklist.

I recently acquired a t-mobile galaxy S3 (t999l)running stock 4.1.2, however my current provider is metropcs and in order to use it i have to unlock it. I currently dont have the money to pay for that so i want to downgrade it to 4.1.1 to do it for free. I was wondering how i could go about downgrading step by step. I would also like to have it rooted.
There is no 4.1.1 for t-999l.. And you don't need to unlock T-Mobile phones to use them with metroPCS.. I know because I've worked for metroPCS.. In other words, you're good to go!!

I tried putting my already activated metropcs sim card in and it asked for sim unlock code. Is there anything I can do to resolve that.

What phone did you have before? Was it cdma or gsm? It shouldn't ask for one.. also is your area using cdma or gsm network?

I just bought a N7100 however it seems to be network locked.
I could not find any unlocker who would provide network unlock code for Puerto Rico - Claro branded Samsung Note 2 N7100.
My only other option is to unlock it by code however I do not know which ROM/Kernel/modem combo would allow me to use the code

The one that comes with the phone is Claro stock 4.3. I rooted it and flashed several stock 4.1.2 but the option "[6] Network Lock" and " [3] Perso SHA 256 " are not availble to change.
Can anyone tell me which ROM/kernel/modem would allow me to remove the network lock? Thanks in advance.

It has to be 4.1.1 not 4.1.2, there aren't many 4.1.1 stock roms anywhere so make sure it is 4.1.1 not 4.1.2

None of the 4.1.1 stock would give me network unlock prompt via the hiden menu.
It was also difficult finding unlocking via imei because the imei unlock coxe database was off of latin america despite the fact that Puerto Rico belong to USA.
I just found a Canadian unlocker who used USB method. He unlocked my n7100 in 30 minutes through remote access. Cost was 20 US dollars. It has been working great so far.
I thought I was gonna be stuck with a unlockable phone thats as good as a dead brick. Anyhow Thanks for your help guys.
