u wont be getting any customisation once u go for windows phone.
although i like windows phone os but i like my phone to be customised.
i suggest to use it(nokia lumis 620) for one or 2 days...let ur own way of usage decide what is best for u.
Lol, just opened my eyes... thanks.
Thats true that I might get bored without customization.
Thats very genuine advice.
of you wanna exchange then go for lumia 820
in windows phone you well get bore of the os preety soon ...
i m telling you of my personal experience... as i use to have Nokia lumia 610 ....
apps are very very limited ... and you will get angry of the operating system very soon ... whatsapp viber etc etc lags a lot and sometimes crashes...
no equaliser in music player... you can't download anything from internet explorer in wp... but you can download some videos and mp3 via uc browser ...
there is no way to install apps from outside sources ... so games and apps u have to buy it ....
no fm radio
no flash support
Nowadays I'm using my lumia 800 for hammering nails..gorilla glass is of such a good quality.. Fed with limited apps.. Can't edit or even rename the video files..

Market share speaks the truth. Why android is the boss
Android showed other OS like Symbian the exit way. Windows is better on PC no doubt in that
i have both & i love the way wp phone works yes its limited but its not any less then android, if battery life & camera is not your concern go for grand

i agree with wp market share point, but its not android but ios who started showing symbian exit way & letter android did rest of job, but always remember if there was no symbian there may be no android or ios, cause ios learned from symbian problems letter solved them same did android but other way they learned from both symbian & ios
android made os as free as possible for everything that can be done, where ios overcome with symbian problems but they created there own by locking user as they wanted .

you know i also had this windows phone fantasy and dreams and bought lumia 610 for 11.2k it's really good for 20 days but as days past i experienced the os limitation ... and god i was so angry with it.
for example - there is office installed on every windows phone but the thing is that u cant transfer any of doc or ppt or xls document from your pc
all yu can do is to upload that file to skydrive from pc then install skydrive app in phone and access that file from that... but u cant download anything from skydrive app (except images) so for accessing document u can just view from skydrive nothing else .... i don't understand then whats the point of having such a hifi office suite
got bored of the os in just 1 month so sold it for 8k .... 3k loss but then again i was damn happy ... as finally i got freedom from its limitations

@DBZoo7 you are most welcome my friend.... anytime
You are right anin I cannot send documents files directly.. First I had to send to skydive then download to phone using skydive application.. I'm giving lumia 800 to dog instead of bones.. Even my dog doesn't want this piece of ****.. No battery backup.. Max 6 to 7 hrs.. Also cannot send images and music directly.. Only send through application..

Hey guys, i'm not that new to this formu but i usually don't post ... call me lazy maybe.
I have been using a HTC Diamon for the last 2 years, and now proud owner of a Desire. Along me, 4 of my best friend have the same devices.
ALL OF THEM expept me have 3G enabled all the time ... WHY ? I mean i work in IT, so i have Internet access all the time (work or home), so why keep 3G and data going all the time ? wifi, bluetooth, and so on ? I mean i have a 24 inch screen in front of me ... why do i need to update twiter from phone? or facebook, or whatever? I use data when i am not at the office ? YES ! Do i turn it off when I am in front of a pc? YES! does my phone outlasts all of my friends phone? YES ...
So besides the fact that Android, doesn't really work as WM, you don;t really need task killers, switchers and all that in my own opinion.
What i would really need would be some productivity, like a good VPN client for example.
If you look at early threads on thif forum, when Diamond was the stuff you wanted, everyone said, (when asked "why don't i have this cool thing that rotates that does nothing but looks nice LIKE ON THE IPHONE ... on my HTC?) that HTC does phone bussiness oriented, HTC and smartphones in general are for ppl that really need emails, vpns, charts, office tools and what ever on the go and that the Iphone is for kids ...? looking here and everywhere else ... somewhere ppl forgot that a phone should enable you to talk to someone ... a PDA is a usefull TOOL ... a tool not an iphone ...
Anyway ... i haven't sleeped in about 16 hours, my English ... sucks sometimes (sorry about that) and i don;t really know what i wanted to say but point is that if you want to save battery ... stop using the F**ing mobile internet while you have a pc in front of you.
What can i say...
Thanks for this long and pointless post.
If you want productivity then stop writing nonsense such as this and find something to do.

did not vote because the feature you want so badly promotes nothing piracy and security risks. people exchanging music for free and leaving your bluetooth on with a default password is asking for trouble. i am glad microsoft and apple do not allow this.

I've voted for this and a start screen wallpaper but honestly there is not enough votes on there for MS to even look at the issue, we need to get people to actually vote. For those of you who are content with the way this crapy OS is limited now you Suck.

I voted. couldn't even send my contacts from my old windows phone. The piracy argument is just silly! What about office ducuments, pictures, V-cards, etc. when the person is sitting next to you?! Why should I have to pay for data transfer to attach them to an email?!

Look at my rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1359148
for hd7. The tiles for mail (hotmail or other mail accounts) phone and messages are live and are giving the amount of mails, messages... . It's not my invention but from xboxmod. I can always provide a set to make these tiles live if the designer wants it. Attention it is diplaying from 1 to 9 items, from 10 the numbers dissappear. This is still a litle bug, but I should say read your mails more often and this is no problem.
the tiles exist in side a dll file i dont know the name of it but we would have to rebuld that dll file!
anyone know the name of it?
Beautiful
Great work. Keep it up, with updates.
Never seen my HD2 look so cool.

Want to know what others does with your cell phone in your absence? Then the solution is to simply have 'FoneDetective' running inside your phone. It captures all user actions, frame by frame along with the exact time details. Later you simply need to play recorded events and it will start sideshow of all recorded frames in timely manner.

Hey guys, I might have made a big mistake. I am currently using Pixel XL as my daily driver for a couple months. My girlfriend broke her iphone and needed a replacement for a couple days so without thinking I picked up my old LG g4 and set a new account to gave it to her. Because, well I was trying to be a good boyfriend, but I didn't think it through. That phone is filled with *cough* *cough* Sensitive pictures and videos in the gallery and in the hide it pro app that could compromise the entire relationship. I have been freaking about this for an hour and so and I need help. I opened another account on my pixel and couldn't see my pictures, which was reassuring, but I can't stop but thinking that it's not the case with the LG can you guys check it for me so I can have a plan of action. PS she has really limited knowledge of the android ecosystem and any sort of technology in general.
PS** The main account is password protected and she doesn't know the passcode. PS*** The only think I can think of to keep her from seeing them is factory resetting the phone remotely which I am not willing to do without absolute proof.

From expierience hide it pro changes the file name extensions so no other app sees them. I feel ya brother. The g4 should nativly support multi user. Why not tell her u need it do get some old downloads or backups off it and either wipe the hide it pro app or transfer the files real quick to anther sd card and delete.
Lol i guess i should say tsk tsk bad morals shouldnt be hiding stuff but i know how it it my wife is a evil evil woman sometimes i love her to death. But even the sight of a webpage or something. Like we dont watch american pie movies in our house because she throw a fit when a set of naked titties are on the tv. So i just gave it up dont even try anymore lol.
Now my wife managed to find out what hide it pro was found where the files are saved too so i couldnt even use it anymore if i wanted to

If she aint all tech savvy tell her some new xda app just come out or somthing to make the battery last longer and u need to plug it in to pc adb it tell her takes 20 or 30 min. Or something along that line. Or trying to shut down the bootloopable cores hell of she wasnt around when u got the g4 u got it used or somethin. Unless theyre pics of u in it

Well, you are right with the hide it pro app but my main concern is the gallery app. If you currently have a LG G4 on hand would you please create another user and check if the pictures in the gallery are shared or not it is kind of vital and I can't see her until tomorrow so I can't do things you suggested and I kinda need to know to sleep comfortably at night.

Multiple users are handled like this in Android:
Each user has its own internal storage path.
E.g. /data/media/0 is the first user path always.
When you add another user he/she will get /data/media/10 or 1 or whatever the ROM says.
The result:
Each user can have its OWN pic gallery and apps
So a new user will not see any pics from the other user in the gallery... As long as no app get installed which accesses e.g. all pics on the external sd...!
Keep in mind that every user has in general full access to the device. Means:
When the second user installs an advanced file explorer he/she could navigate to the folder of the first user and access all folders from him!
When the gallery app scans the whole system you cannot be sure it will not find all..
So at the end the android multi user concept is not a full protection between the both accounts. Well as long as the second one is not a GUEST account.
So.. at the end you're not safe.
