Hello this morning i tried to use the android beam, that says if you put 2 pone together back with back you can transfer files etc. just like the sbeam on Samsung . but when I tried it send me to the play store with no succes. any 1 know how to make it work? does it needs any App?:fingers-crossed:
Try this
I haven't used the Beam Feature much but yes I have transferred photos via NFC to Xperia SP from my Xperia ZL
How:
1. I was in my Album app and viewing the photo
2. NFC was turned on for both the devices
3. As soon I touched both devices back to back
4. A sound alert was made along with the vibration indicating devices paired via nfc
5. Touch to Beam option was displayed on my screen along with the photo
6. I pressed on it and the transfer was done automatically and easily
Try the same while listening to a song via walkman app (It worked for me)
Press thanx if I helped you in any way

Check the nfc settings of the Samsung phone. Maybe there were some setting turned off during the time you were trying to share a photo
Press thanks if I helped

No I didn't use any program to transfer any file I was easily able to share music and images via NFC that too directly from Sony Album and Walkman application without the need of any other NFC application
Ok its good. i tried with an LG optimus G and my zl and its working fine. il have to try again with the S3 later.
Does this work for any file or it's only for particular types of files. I have a game called 1941 and the save game creates an XML file that can be copied to any device so I can continue my game on the other device. I navigate to the file using Root Explorer but what do I do then, right click on the file >> go to Send but I dont see a beam option.
I can transfer via Bluetooth but i'd like to make use of the this beam feature.
It works for any file, if u can open that file. so u might wanna try opening that xml and then try sending.

when the Xperia Ion first came out earlier this year.... i knew that this was the phone i wanted,..... it had all the features i wanted and more, like the NFC but for some reason we cant use it with Google Wallet,.... ok maybe theres a trick to get to to work with our phone.... (let me know if you do know)
how about using the Beam (NFC) to transfer content like pictures, videos, apps, contacts and whatever else to another NFC device just like the Samsung Galaxy S3 commercial.....
ok,... i have tried Beaming pictures with Xperia Ion and Galaxy S3 (AT&T version and Verizon version) with the phones back to back,.... front to front,.... side to side,... whatever position capable..... I've tried it with Xperia Ion being the host and vice versa..... and sometimes theres a notification sound, picture zooms out and a "Touch to Beam" pops up the screen.... so i touch the picture i want to Beam,... picture goes back to full screen but nothing seems to be transferring.... I've tried with the stock Gallery app and another one (quickpic)...
when trying with the Quickpic app,.....it Beamed the other device to the "Quickpic" Play Store (asking it to install the app).... i e-mailed the developer of the Quickpic app,... and he said "sorry, not tested, no device to test..." so ok,.... i kept trying with the stock Gallery app but no successful transfer....
is the Xperia Ion capable of using the Beam (NFC) technology just like the Galaxy S3?????
has anyone successfully transferred Pictures, Video or any files via Beam????
what am i doing wrong????
i haven't had a change to test this with anyone yet. but my buddy has an s3 i'll try it out and get back to you. however, my NFC tags work great and i haven't had a problem with them once.
I beamed to an S3 this past weekend. You have to remember that the regular "beam" feature uses NFC only, without invoking Bluetooth, which means things like pictures and videos are out of the question. Regular Beam features will work with contacts, links and things which can just be a line of text. I selected a contact, held my phone to my friends phone, the contact zoomed out and the screen said "tap to beam". You tap the contact and everyone is happy.
thanks for clarifying that,..... i hope in the future they find a way to utilize it like the Samsung S3 Beam on our device,....

Samsung has done something with their firmware that makes it so you can't beam a picture from/to a non-samsung phone. I've tested this with my friends GS3 and my Xperia devices. Stupid samsung.

Sorry for the late response but that worked fine. I can beam from all my of Xperia devices to each other without issues.
I beamed a few things to and from my son's HTC One X. I was able to do small files but not photos (may be a file size limit?).
It took about 10 minutes to get it to work though. We just about gave up when he turned his phone upside down and magically it worked. Not sure if it should need to work that way but that's the only way we were able to make it work.
So I guess the only problem I cant send or receive any pictures from any Samsung device... Dam! Most my friend use S3 and note 2... And why is Google wallet still not working for Xperia s??

Confirmed this also, Ion to SGS3. Apps transfer, no pictures, no files from file explorer, no music. Somethings would activate Bluetooth but on other device just play store opening saying not found. I did get one picture from SGS3 to ion.

Everything works, except the preview. It starts it up but when it's done loading it just gives me a black screen where the preview should appear.
Everything else works!

+1 this problem with my hero 3 silver edition and android app on HOXL. No preview, just black screen.
+1 for me too. Hero 3 silver edition and GoPro android app version 1.0.1102 on AT&T HTC One X. No preview, just black screen. Works fine on my old Samsung Captivate running Stock AT&T Gingerbread, though...
...
+1...
The same problem. GoPro h3 silv... Connects to the tablet - preview works fine. With the PDA does not work. Well the answer is not found?
same problem
HTC One X with HERO 3 Black
By changing the preview player setting in the GoPro app to 'Software Player' you can get around this. Unfortunately the software player gives you a second or so lag in the preview window. Not really good enough, but until they fix whatever problem there is with hardware acceleration ...
Same problem here with a GoPro Hero 2 and my Xperia Arc
Help with gopro app
I had the same problem with Gopro Hero 3 White and Motorola Defy and CyanogenMod 10 but I managed to fix it. Here are my solutions :
First try this :
1. Turn ON your gopro and activate the Wifi
2. Pair your phone and camera via wifi as usual
3. Launch the GoPro App. On the app homescreen you'll click on the spanner icon at the top right
4. Click on [Preview Player] and choose SOFTWARE PLAYER.
It may simply work like this. If not, try rebooting your phone once. If it still not working, you should probably MANUALLY update your Gopro software by following these steps :
5. Connect your Gopro on your computer via USB cable and switch it ON. Be sure you have at least 30 min of battery
6. Format your Gopro SD card (warning, it will delete all the files on the card!)
7. Disconnect the Gopro
8. Go to support section of the gopro website. In the [Product update] field choose your camera.
9. Don't use the automatic-Java procedure, choose the MANUAL UPDATE instead. Click on continue
10. Enter your first name/last name/email as asked and continue.
11. Enter your Gopro Serial Number then continue
12. Save the zip file on your computer
13. Connect your Gopro on your computer via USB cable and switch it ON
14. Unzip the file on the root of your GoPro SDcard
15. Disconnect the Gopro
16. Switch ON the Gopro and wait until the update process is completed (can last up to 15 min)
17. Switch OFF the Gopro
Try again steps 1 - 4.
Hope it will help! Cheers guys! :highfive:
Software player fixed preview : Htc one x+
OMG THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!! this has been driving me crazy. changed to software player and the preview works perfect!!! YOU SAVED ME!:good:

Hi fizzico,
What "spanner icon" do you mean? In the top right corner? If you mean the "wrench" icon, or what is otherwise known as the settings icon, I have that in the lower-right of the screen. This is the most recent version of the GoPro app that is installable from the Android apps site via an Android 4.42 KitKat OS on a Nextbook 7 tablet.
Within the settings screen in the GoPro app, scrolling down to the bottom of the list, then back up again, there is no setting for "Preview Player"... so, is that setting for "Preview Player" within a sublist from another one of the settings in the GoPro app's setting list?
Thanks,
digiday
Why "Preview" on gopro app on my phone completely dark and does not appear any picture, but the shutter button function. My gopro is gopro hero+ and my phone is Himax zoom. please give solution. Thanks before

Interesting...though I use online services these days to get my music, so I really need spotify to go offline as google music works great albeit a little slow
yes it works well.. but as google play you need battery above 75% to syncronize the playlist over smartwatch... i don't get the point of this " limit "
At the first upload it crashed with MINI LAUNCHER .. after a couple of reboots bot apps works great i particularly like the easy quick access from smartwatch !! Good good !
does anyone have it ?????the apk?
found it

hello
I have a rooted Motorola g 5g plus
I want to Miracast my phone to a bravia Sony tv
miracast to tv worked with a Poco x3 NFC and a Asus Zenfone 3 but moto g 5g plus can't find tv so I can't mirror my screen and same thing for Motorola one action and Motorola one vision
I asked Motorola about my problem and they said I have to use a chromecast dongle
but Chromecast is equal to half price of my moto and also almost all other phones can do it without it !!!
is there any way to unlock/enable miracast/mirrorscreen on a Motorola phone ?
Well did you tried installing apps like this?
Miracast - Wifi Display - Apps on Google Play
Help you cast android device screen to TV screen
play.google.com

yes I did tried some
the one you sent , after taping on "connect" button it just opens stock cast app which need Chromecast
I found a solution for the same problem for moto g2 which you need to add a line to a file names build.prop inside system folder but I could not edit that file and I afraid that can brick my phone because codes inside the file is different compared to g2
Probably go back to use your old xiaomi phone when casting is concerned then(if you don't want your device bricked).
The build prop may be functional, but there is also a large risk as moto g2 is a museum old phone and the changes probably won't apply now.

just wanted you to know that I tried to edit that line with es file explorer but It would not let me save it and also tried to edit it in PC and push it back via cmd while phone is in twrp but again it failed because of being read-only and strangely refuse to change permission
i find out that system partition unchangeable read-only problem is exist from Android 10 and also pixel users can't change it
so I conclude that I can't enable mirror screen ( at least for now )
i disappointed
You need to do that with root, like magisk, but banking apps and maybe even google play won't work.
Or you can temporarily buy a cheap old xiaomi phone that does nothing but casting.

I have a rooted Motorola g 5g plus and I did grant es file explorer for doing that
also banking apps working after hiding root
as you suggested
I'm using my old asus phone to mirror screen
but shame for Motorola
thank you for your replay
Maybe try downgrade to android 10 if possible. Android 11 have problems with file accessing as far as I know.
Hi everyone,
I want to ditch my first and last Samsung phone because of the obnoxious Galaxy store pushing. Uninstallable, Samsung chosen, system level 3rd party apps that require many permissions, pop-ups asking for constant permissions with a cancel button, but no way to choose "Don't ask again" so repeat ad-nauseam etc etc.
What is the Sony Android experience like?
My last Sony was the era before smartphones so I've really no idea, but am considering getting one soon.
Hi, it's very stock Android experience. Depending on what Xperia you get it comes with few Sony apps (camera, launcher, music, news) that's it.
Good Luck
Sony is premium and its quality of product is amazing , hardware or software you will be amazed
however if you are looking to mirror the phone ( Desktop mode ) then SOny still lagging behind Samsung ( samsung Dex ) which is an amazing way to use your mobile phone as full fledge PC like experience on the go with just a USB C cable needed ( for USB c supported monitors )
however Sony alwasy allows the air mirroring ( mira cast ) so there is a way but for less latency ( gaming ) wired option is much needed which is not available in sony for now.

No, I've completely uninstalled Dex. I don't use anything except for basic features.
I do like to root though so I'm also wondering about that with Sony phones.
