What do you think? if so what would be the expected mah?
I'd love them to, but I doubt it :/ If they do however, I will be pre-ordering it straight away
Agreed just got a Nexus and the battery life is half that of my iPhone. My iPhones screen would be at max and the Nexus at the minimum.
If they release a 2500-ish battery I will get it

I don't think they will. Personally, I was disappointed in their decision to use such a small extended battery. I know allot of people don't want to lose the slimness. Those people should stick to the stock battery. I wish it was close to 3000 mah.
I guess Samsung decided more people would buy the battery based on slimness than would not buy because of mah rating.

Well we got the Seidio extended battery. Not exactly Samsung but I had good experience with their batteries. My only complaint about the battery is the back cover. Not a big fan of the color. Should have made it the color of the phone
Samsung wont make a bigger one. they did same thing for the galaxy S2.
Im waiting for the mugen one. I had that on my SG S2 and it was a beast
I hope Samsung or somebody else does. The siedo is huge and kinda ugly. Personally I would like around 2500mah -3000mah depending on how huge it is. Including NFC would be a huge plus too.
What's the seido?

Doubt it as it'd ruin the lines of the phone. The official 2000mah extended battery fits nicely and the cover just makes the phone feel better in the hand
the mugen will have how much battery?
i dont think they would but it would be very nice to see if they do....

Samsung have already officially released an extended battery for the GNex. It is on Amazon for $33.

That's the Verizon version, the GSM one can be found on eBay...

All depends on your usage of the phone. It is only an extra 250 mAh, so if you are a heavy user, you may get an hour or two out, medium user a couple of hours and light user a few more!
I find it is easy to carry around a spare cheap eBay battery just in case you need it!
as long as it doesnt look like this:
http://www.fonearena.com/blog/22046/samsung-power-pack-ebb-u10-for-galaxy-s-is-out.html
Novel idea there, although it looks FUGLY!!
I'm not gonna lie. I'm tempted to get the Seidio one since I'm a really heavy user, especially during the night shift with music and such. But idk. I'm thinking about buying an extra extended battery since Verizon still has them for half off or getting the huge Seidio one. I don't use NFC so that doesn't really matter. What do you guys think?
By the way, sorry if I like jacked your thread with this question

Most people are going to tell you use the Samsung because it looks better...personally, looks don't matter to me, so if you feel you need the extra juice the seido is the best option at the moment. The thing keeping me from the seido is NFC and the price. I just went with the samsung. You can buy 2 of them for less than the price of the seido.

I'm looking for something like this
mophie (dot) com/mophie-juice-pack-air-iPhone-4-battery-case-p/1145_jpa-ip4-blk.htm
but for the GN... I've searched around a bit but couldn't find anything. Or should I just wait a bit longer.
I would love to find something like this.
No, there isn't something like that yet. The galaxy nexus is still new, it took a couple of months for someone like Mophie to make something like that for the iPhone. I'm not saying it won't happen but it might take a while.
That would make your Gnex look like an iphone!
Seidio makes cases for the extended battery.

I don't care if it looks like an iPhone, just as long as I can make it about... 11 hours with moderate to heavy use I'm happy!
You might want to check this out. I know this is a iphone case but the Solmate did annouce in FAQ that they are going to start a Galaxy Nexus case. I am bugging the hell out of them to start the Galaxy Nexus case. These cases are solar, inductive, and battery. I also ask them to make sure it will work the extended battery.
would love this

That looks great and should work better with the Galaxy Nexus as there would be no need for that huge iPhone connector, they can just use the dock pins on the side.

I didn't think about charging the Gnex through the doc pins. I use heavy use so making some like and I think is totally awesome.

Wow that is sweet...
The iphone market for this would be so much larger than that of the Nexus. So realistically I don't see this happening. However, I would be a buyer.
Thinking of upgrading, a friend offered to buy my Galaxy Nexus and so I was thinking of selling it(for U.S.$150) and buying an N4. Is there $150 worth of difference in the two? I have never seen an N4 in the wild, so I have no frame of reference. The added bonus is my friend would be switching from an iPhone 4 so we'd be gaining a convert LOL. As far as ROMS and Unlocking/Rooting how is the N4? It's SUPER easy with the GNex of course, same with the N4?
ADB and Fastboot workflow will be the same across the nexus line of devices.
Spec wise, it's more powerful as compared to the gnex, you can't go wrong over there.
Whether it's worth the $150, what do you think?
currently having gnex now
i would probably change my gnex if its 32gb model N4
spec wise n4 wins and surely it will still run 2 years from now

If you have the money and are planning to have the phone for a while, go for it, GN will get out of the support line soon.
Galaxy Nexus is the best :good:
its worth it IMO. better screen, bigger battery, faster processor, double the RAM, better camera, better build quality. i have played with a couple N4's and still to this day, I think it is the best phone (for me) even over the HTC One and Galaxy S4. something about stock android, and the screen on the N4 is just awesome. for whatever reason, i wasn't impressed with the One's screen.
anyway, if you aren't struggling for the money, its a worth upgrade. you will be enjoying all the benefits of the galaxy nexus, but with much better hardware all around.
only downfall is the non removable battery.
Vote for N4
If the N4 had AT&T LTE, I'd jump tomorrow. But it doesn't, so I'm going to hold out until November and hope the N5 has AT&T LTE and is made by NOT LG. Glass feels nice, but its heavy and isn't easily replaceable.
N4. My sister has one now, and I'm still on my Gnex. The N4 is way cooler.
Nexus 4, no doubt. Better performance, better battery life and future proof :good:
I see the N⁴ and hold it every day. Not all that great.

Nexus 4. Much clearer and brighter screen, faster processor, plus double the ram
Been meaning towards GNexus (because of the price, and it's still a Nexus), but still hard to pick among the two - I don't like the idea that N4 has a glass back panel, which feels like iPhone 4, and I totally dislike that material.
I'd pay full price for a Nexus 4, but until my contract with Verizon is up, I'll be on my Galaxy Nexus.
It's safe to say that historically with the Nexus devices, having the newest device is probably your best bet!
Galaxy Nexus all the way, especially when it's cheaper

Even Apple ditched the glass back an made it alloy on iPhone 5, best thing they ever did, hope the next nexus doesn't go the usual plastic or does the glass back thats as heavy as a brick an shatters like a mutha.

The Xperia Z on the other hand is completely made of glass. The front, back, (even the sides): all glass.

You better hope HTC makes it then. They're the only one that'll probably do that.(metal body)
Moto=Kevlar Fiber
HTC=PolyCarb or Aluminum
SONY=Glass? Or plastic
LG= Glass
Samsung= THE LEGENDARY(Pemium) PLASTIC!

I have both galaxy nexus (white) and nexus 4...use them every day.. Both are cool..I like the touch feeling of the galaxy nexus..but nexus 4 looks way better. I don't find big difference in performance in the everyday usage ..I honestly like to work on the galaxy but the amoled screen compared to the nexus 4 is a major disadvantage

Is N4 lighter/thinner/better feels in hand than GNex?
I just got my Nexus 7 32gb edition in the mail and I want to know what i should get for it.
Wireless charger?
Case recommendations?
Good screen protectors?
The best roms?
Don't ask about best Roms, they frown upon that wireless charger sure if you want convenience. There were a few cases where the plastic that lines the nexus engraving on the back came off due to the heat transfer. I have a glass screen protector, but I'm yet to put it on lol. Cases, I only have one which I don't like much. I'll probably be getting the official Google one as I don't mind not having the magnetic cover since I'll run a kernel with sweep to wake.

Opps I didnt know. What brand glass screen protector did you get? Right now im using a universal 7 inch fold case i got for 5 bucks Its works good so far and I was thinking the same thing with the google case but $50 for a case thats just a bit high. I would get the asus branded case but there are a lot of people that have said they got one that didnt fit the n7.
You could get a USB On-The-Go adapter for when you've filled up that 26GB of storage

This is the one I got (it seems they changed the packaging since I got it). I have a glass one on my S4 and I don't think I could go back to a normal one haha. I agree the Google case is pretty dang expensive, but since it will be a Christmas gift, I won't be paying for it

Just some general information...
Apparently the Nexus 5, by LG in all their infinite wisdom, decided it best not to be able to access your battery like a normal phone. They're pulling an Apple on us.
So if you were looking for an extended battery, you're out of luck unless you buy a battery that works outside of the phone (by usb or otherwise).
N5 battery back up
Well I would say on behalf of battery back up Google N5 is much better one..as I use net all the time on my phone and also get my self plug in with the music too...but still the battery problem does not create a worry for me...so there is not any battery drainage system with N5 as it occurs generally with the smart phones...so I just love my N5 on behalf of this....
Yea I can understand why apple do that one is because they are apple and they like control. Two is because the iPhone is made of uni-body metal construction with tighter tolerance that feel solid.
As for the nexus 5 or any other plastic android why not just give us a removal back? I understood why for the nexus 4 because the nice glass backing but the nexus 5 is just a plastic piece.
All in all I still would pick the nexus 5 over any other phone. As for now I'll just have a battery pack with me until a good battery case is release.

If you care about stuff like that then don't buy this phone. There is a case for the N5 by iblason that extends the battery if you need one
