After Gio, then what phone ? :)

Hello to all fellow Gio-ers, I just wanna ask u guys a question. Any phones that u guys might recommend, mid range- low range 3.5 inch ++ screen with front camera? Cos I might be changing phone soon as my contract expired. Also, shud I keep using android , or change to windows phone? Cos I've meddled with android for a while now. ( I can't afford ios, lol.) Any suggestions are absolutely welcome.

In my opinion Windows phone cant be that big , not as much apps as
Android had. Maybe The galaxy ace plus or ace 2 ??

U from Singapore too??? And SGA2 is pretty good, but I don't really like upgrading to an almost identical in appearance phone. okay, dies anyone know if windows phone provide a good experience or not?

but the ace 1 isn't really an upgrade, and I do like to buy something 'newer and 'better'if I purchease a new phone..
you can say bigger is better, but doesn't have to..
what about galaxy ace plus ? higher priced then ace 1, problably cheaper then ace 2

HTC HD2 would be nice, it can run

-Windows Phone
-Windows Mobile
-and tons of custom stuff.
But, I'd say that some cheaper HTC, i.e Desire is nice.

after Gio? mmh... I will purchase a new medium range device that has a price lower or equal than 200€, a respectable hw and a good support from communities like xda. I don't need an high range device because I have a galaxy tab for the Android full use...

Hey guys, my name is Silva . I'm new to galaxy grand XDA community.. So,tomorrow I'm planning to buy Samsung galaxy grand i9082 duos. But I have a question . hope you guys have time to answer to these noob question :fingers-crossed:
1. Which better galaxy grand or galaxy s2 plus ?
2. Can galaxy grand handle high end games like NFS mostwanted?
3. Is the broadcom GPU is fast?
4. Some says galaxy grand eating lot ram? Is it true?
5. How about the battery life?
6. Will the galaxy grand get 4.2. Some rumors say it will.

1.. grand and s2 plus has the same hardware so now it's up to you weather your want an 5" or 4.3"
2... yes quite comfortably and silky smooth
3... yes
4... that depends on how many apps are running in background.
5... quite good
6...yes it will ..
7... no such bug

That depends, Grand resolution is quite low (480x800) on a 5 inch screen and don't have SAMOLED screen (Higher energy consumption + color looks dull compared to SAMOLED). But Grand offers dual SIM support GT-I9082 and screen is larger.
For S2+ 480x800 resolution is acceptable on a 4.3 inch screen and have a SAMOLED screen, which makes the color looks more vivid.
But if you upgrading from cheap phones like old Nokia 5800, Grand will be a good choice for you and you will not realize the screen is low-end. But from S3 to Grand, you will realize that's a huge downgrade, except Grand memory management is good. (Low RAM usage, but also depends on how many apps you have)

Thanks for reply , I bought grand duos (elegant white) yesterday . It was superb phone . Dont know why many people complaining about this phone perfomance. I also have note 10.1 and xperia z

Only one sim work in cm 10.1 and lags in gaming and volumne bug during call ... but it is dam smoth ... and stock base roms are very good in performanc ...

What about battery? Which rom has better battery? I like stock rom ui, but cm10.1 is smooth and latest android .

cm10.1 has good battery backup

i suggest don't!! Its low end as this section don't have more developers to get separate section! s2 plus is far better and gives rich feeling! @panda00 can give more information

Well... my dad owns a Galaxy Grand, and I own an S2 Plus. Had experiences with both phones... They're pretty much equal. The Grand has two things in its advantage... multiwindow, and a big screen. The S2 plus however, has a much sharper screen (Super AMOLED, much higher ppi too), NFC, and it's much cheaper! Also it is a better and more premium looking phone.

If you can save a few bucks and compromise external storage then buy a nexus 4

I choose galaxy grand because I want dual sim phone .. I already have galaxy note 10.1 and xperia z .. Note 10.1 for gaming and movies.. Xperia z for Social(Facebook,twitter,etc) .. And grand for calling and message ..

I used S2 too and I just bought Grand Duos so here's the reason.
Dual Sim (my main point of buying)
Big Screen (also my main point of buying)
Price
Longer battery
Better and louder sound output.
Well, I don't really playing games on it so can't give any comments on this but I do test a few high quality games and it works well too.

It depends on which games you play
Most HD games work good on grand

[Q] Is there a way to enable NFC on Grand Duos?

Hi Folks,
I saw a couple weeks a battery replacement for Grand Duos with the NFC enable. I'm a noob in terms about the tecnology, so I'm asking if with this battery we can somehow enable the NFC in the firmware???

NFC is a hardware feature. I9082 doesn't have the hardware to enable NFC communication. It has nothing to do with the battery.

Indianversion of grand dosent have support for nfc however samsung decided to include it in korean versione

NFC hardware just pairs with a compatible NFC device but the data is send via Wifi Direct only.
NFC hardware just pairs with both devices nothing else guys ... it sends the data via wifi direct.
Similar app is available on play store name "Fast File Transfer" it does the same ... sends any videos, games or music via wifi direct.
But one thing which I like about NFC is that it bypasses the authentication or pass key step to connect with devices ... just touching two nfc devices together connects them automatically.
But if one use NFC enebled speakers or smart tags then only its usefull ... other than that one can use fast file transfer app which does the same thing as NFC does while sending any data.

Not just that all, Korean version Galaxy Grand SHV-E270S are using Samsung Exynos Quad-Core (Same as the S3). Why international one always a bit downgraded compared to Korean version???

she's using lumia 900 & next month her contract is going to end so asked me to use few days L1020 latter will buy another for me when her contract ends

maybe a good time to change to note 2..as note 3 is out note 2 price will drop for sure
