I agree... Morfic looks the best to me. Though the auto brightness of the kernel I am using is a bit low for me so I kept the ratio the same but added 100 to each color...

[Q] Increasing MMS size

I have seen some threads floating around but not sure if anyone has done this with the T-Mobile Variant of the SGS2. I want to increase MMS size to over 128k when sending photos. I know it's not a T-Mobile limitation, and I assume the stock messaging app can be modified. I would like to make this happen in Handcent, anyone have any ideas or know where to get the required info? Thanks.
I have been wondering about this myself. Anyone?
I just want to know if it can be modified without rooting,I had a HTC touch pro 2 on T-Mobile, and was able to increase without a custom ROM

The limits are set hardcoded in the Mms.apk , Tmo is set to 1024 in the the only way to increase it seems to be to edit the apk, but you would have to be rooted to replace it as it is a system app ...
from the mms_config.xml in the Mms.apk
Code:
m a x M e s s a g e S i z e 3 0 7 2 0 0 A T T m a x M e s s a g e S i z e 6 1 4 4 0 0 T M O m a x M e s s a g e S i z e 1 0 2 4 0 0 0
I know tmobile limit is around 1024kb. I've done it on a hd2 rom but this is a bit different.

Deebo took your bike too?
One thing to keep in mind is your recipient may not have a device that supports that size of mms. They'll just get a message saying they couldn't receive it.

Use handcent SMS and in the settings you can increase the MMS size. My mms size is now at least 500 - 700 kB

Screen density?

I am running MCR Ir12 with the excellent Franco kernel.
I decided to have a play with the screen density in build.prop and, based on the fact that the gnex has a pixel density of 316 ppi I changed the default value of 320 in build.prop to match.
Apart from everything being only slightly smaller, I noticed a more interesting change: colour gradients seem more 'detailed' as in the white/grey on the twitter widget (standard twitter app) seems plain white at default ppi, but has a much more pleasant white to grey gradient at 316 ppi.
Has anyone tried this, or have any better settings, or interesting observations?

I run 192, a it puts the phone into tablet mode. 241 is the lowest you can go and not have problems (unless you use tablet mode).

I ran my Rom at 240 without any problems. I currently run it in tablet mode though.
Running it at 316 shouldn't really change much of anything from 320. You will have issues with downloading apps from the market though.
You either need to go 320 or 240 for market compatibility, otherwise a modded market will be needed.

That's not true, I ran/run 240 just fine with AOKP B27, M4 and B28.
A little off topic but what is tablet mode ?

With a few tweaks and a density of 192 or below your phone will auto switch to run ICS the way it ships on a tablet and gives you the tablet UI and not the phone UI.

Custom dpi

What is the best custom dpi setting for the gnex?
I'm running 240ish and some things don't look right. Contacts ect etc.

Running on 280 and looks bad ass with 6x5 set. But market is broken.

240 and your market will work fine as well.
LCD, LED screen are optimized for a single resolution, unlike CRTs where pixels are created dynamically depending upon fps, MHz etc. Here pixels are fixed, changing the dpi is basically increasing /reducing pixels at software level which gets implemented at hardware level where number of pixels are fixed. thus blur picture.
that sharp and crisp display wont be there if you chance your dpi, you might wanna reduce/increase font size.

Yes I understand this. If there were a "tiny" font size that would do. But small is too large.

There are many apps that cannot be downloaded on 280 . one of them is franco's app .

OP, try a custom tablet ROM if you want low dpi. Paranoidandroid is popular.

Yep, I forgot it nevertheless 241 have this issue as well though I had followed steps in rom control ? Any idea ? or it was aokp's problem ? Some apps need to be switched to default dpi to update or install, completely inconvenient

Improve AutoBrightness and AudioSpeaker and StatusLED

Hello everybody i bought this fantastic device 3 days ago and it performs very well...
i've already tried many custom Roms, but the one i like is the stock jelly bean rom, but it has some problems...
the Audio is too low, i tried Volume+ on Market but is not compatible with JB, so do you have any suggestions? any zip file to flash?
the other things i don't like is the auto brightness sensor... it keep the light too low. is there some mod to fix this?
i would like also to Flash franco.kernel with 384oc GPU, do you suggest me? is it possible to fix the other two problems only flashing francokernel?
PS: do you know some trick to manage the status led?
..for the status led, I'm using LightFlow, even bought it for 1.7euro (free version doesn't have FB and some others) ... not like i did much research , Lite version did what i wanted it to do, so i bought full. .. is not that much when you pay ~400 for a phone..
ok for lightflow, is fantastic!
but someone know how can I improve the autoBrightness and the volume?? is very important for me!
are there any roms that is capable of doing these two thins?
For auto brightness try lux auto brightness from play store, the best application to control the brightness in automatic mode.
For sound you need a custom kernel,go to development section.

Hello Cristian, I've got my GNex about 4 days and I found the same flaws you described, so I downloaded the Nexus toolkit to unlock the bootloader, root it, and install recovery, once I did that I installed the franco kernel, the kernel updater gives you the option to modify the colors and the brightness, I hate the yellowish white that the screen has by default so I would strongly recommend you to use the settings recommended by franco to tune up the screen and to use a static brightness, my screen looks amazing now. In regards to the audio, the app has an option to improve it however it only applies for the headphones, not for the speaker (at least I couldn't notice any difference). For the LEDs use lightflow pro. Cheers!

I have the exact same problem as you with the yellow whites. What did you change with the colors?
Did you add more blue and remove more red and green?

Best Overclocking Setting On Lupus Kernel?

What's the best setting that provides the best gaming experience?
i always use this setting
min: 249 or 364 mhz
max: 1401 mhz
govern: interactivex/smartassh3/smartassv2
in some roms smart ass v2 or h3 is best govern but in some of them its better to use interactivex
min : 249
max : 1209
governor : smartassv2 or smartassh3
Thanks. And what about the scheduler?

In theory yes. But you will sacrifice gaming fps.
Lupus kernel takes time to boot
I'm using Neo V with cm10 and Lupus480p kernel, but this Lupus logo which appears during boot takes like forever before the cyanogenmod animation starts, any way to improve the boot time? If not which is the best kernel to go with my configuration.
My stuff
min= 0.1ghz - Standby clocks to lowest saving alot of battery!
max= 1.2ghz - little tiny bump for gaming as my rom can already handle most games i play
govenor= inteldemand2
schedular= row
Sent from my R800 - Currently testing the Pizza Engine
Usually I use max 1,6 Ghz with performance governor and sio i/o, this always runs the CPU @ 1,6. Drains battery fast, but great gaming...
