Assalamu alikum,
Its been around here so much ROMS that one can get confuse, which one to select. Obviously everyone has its own features, and everyone has its own defect issues.
But obviously i would give my own choice of choosing the rom,
May i know which is the best Stable ROM yet made .. i mean amongst the latest ones.
Sleuth's, or LVSW's, or Black Dymond, Custel, vp3g,
Plz, i need help regarding this...

can you slap yourself...2 times....
you HAVE to do the reading...honestly...it wont kill you...
if you aren't willing to invest the time to read about each rom and also read Mr Vanx's guide on how to flash properly, stay with the stock rom
Well, I was about to say start... ah, never mind.
It has been stated. Read the wiki!

hey, everyone amonst you are saying read the things given for each ROM..
But can't you decide, i mean those amongst you , who have tried almost all the ROMS, and then which one they got the most stable..
I mean , reading just don't make the sense, you have to try to confess that it is really a good ROM..
and but natural trying all of these ROMS.... woooohhhh... its a lot...
So, plz, can anyone post his ideas regarding all the ROMS he have tested, and among those which one he found the stable one..
Thnx.

COME ON......you need to try them all for yourself...the criteria we all use is different on how we like the ROMs, instead of asking why not just try them yourself?
Here is what the experts are saying. According to Custel, his ROM is the best. vp3G highly recommends his and the Elf ROM is far better than the others according to the elf. LVSW really likes his ROM and Dutty says his is superior. The Sleuth ROM is great, I know because Sleuth said so. I'm sure I overlooked a great chef or two, but they already know whose ROM is best, so no need for me to cover them all.
The rest of us read, test, and make our decision based on our needs.
Or, if you still can't decide, you can use the one that came with your phone because someone somewhere thinks it is the best. Don't ask me why.
OK...here's your answer
Since you insist on an easy answer, and refuse to make you own decision regarding what you read and/or experience for yourself...Custel's 2.5 is the best. That's the one I have installed right now, and it works great with the 50 or so apps that I have decided for myself are the apps I wish to run.
Of course I am planning to try his newer ones, but as I have not as yet, I can't tell you if those are even better. I have also not tried Sleuth's, LVSW's, Kyphur's, the Elf's, any of the Blacks since 2.0, nor any of the others, so I can't say for sure if any of them would also work well with the 50 or so apps I have decided work best for me and my own usage of my device. (Notice how many times I'm repeating that word 'my').
But I will definitely tell you, since you insist, that Custel's is the best! This, despite all of the polls and threads already about this same issue that might lead you, if you could make your own decision, to think otherwise. Yes, Custel's is the best.
Hope this info makes you feel better, and you can now decide.
Do you also need to know what apps are the best? I'll tell you in one simple sentence...the ones I use
Note though, that I take no reponsibility if any of this doesn't work for you, and you fry your machine or something. With that, you will be on your own.
OK, thread solved. Can it be closed now? Thanks, mods.

Whats the best wm6.5 rom with no programs added in extra. only standart applications..
Sorry for bad english !!
Try some!
There are plenty of 6.5 rom's in the forums. Please do not rely on other members to start advising as everyone has different views and needs from a rom.
Please look for yourself and try some.
I'm sure this thread will be closed now.
well i will say as i have said in other post

please try some of the roms an find what u like
After flashing my diamond many times I think the best rom for is BsB 6.5.
Whats wrong with him asking? I was going to post and ask the same thing but phrase it slightly differently. There are so many out there that spending 2-3 days trying each one would be stupid
All I want to know is which one do people find most reliable? What ones have people tried and stuck with for day-to-day use and what ones have people found with the most bugs?
the best rom is what u cook urself, u know what is best for u.....
fair enough to ask,and responses should be with mention why this or another rom makes it best!

The best HTC Touch Diamond ROM is your own cooked ROM. You can use lobsterdave's kitchen and cook your own ROM for your device the way you want it, without extra stuff and with all apps you want.

your sarcasm/bullcrap detector is broken.
Just had a quick question, can someone explain to me the benefit of using ziggys kernels in laymans terms? I see a lot of excitement about people usin them (im currently trying it out on virt 3.1 right now), but mostly I don't know why exactly.
I know devs usually don't have salesmen mentalities, but im such a noob that I gotta have some pitches: "my rom/kernel is best at this... or my rom/kernel is for those who want _______ but not ________."
I hope this makes sense, thank u guys for everything you do with your extremely valuable time! I think I (and others) could thank you more if we understood more exactly what u did for us!

A custom kernel can give you better battery life, better charging times and better performance. I have yet to see one that is stable other than the stock kernels. But that's just my personal experience with them. All I can tell you is to try them out and see what you think. Good luck
What is The Best and Stable ROM for HTC One X?
Currently i am using Revolution HD...
Post your Opinions and suggestions.
Godbless
In my opinion there is not much difference right now. Most roms if not all are stable with no problems.
I have tried LeeDrOiD, CoreDroid, Villain rom and InsertCoin until now and all of them seem about the same to me in terms of speed and stability
We need custom kernel
ARHD is probably one of the best and most popular.
IMO, they're all around the same and pretty similar besides the fact that some are senseless.
I think we'll really see bigger differences when kernel sources come out and kernel devs start working their magic. Then the combination of kernel and ROM will be big and some may be much more battery efficient than others.
I'm intrigued at the new ROM touch x-treme which is coming out soon I believe, he's uploading.......and hes aiming at battery life. IMO, most important thing since Tegra 3 with all it's cores should already be able to handle UI and everything with ease and the focus on battery life is a biggie to me.
Anything above 5 hours screen usage time would be great, as the phone should barely drain with the companion core during standby.
threads like these usually get closed. you're supposed to read the features/changelogs and look at the pics for the theme. i want ICS blue, so i'm trying the 2 i see with that first.
yah iknow, i want the opinion and testimonies of others.
uhm lets say it like this "air is everywhere but we still need a fan to feel it better".
Read and Analyze first before saying anything.

I am aware that this thread can/may be removed but I think it's a very useful thread...
Cause although I highly appreciate each and every developer, as users, we shall have the chance to openly discuss our experiences ask for other users opinions. Cause reading only changelogs, and looking at the themes don't mean anything especially for someone like me, who is a newbie in Android... =)
And where else can we compare the ROMs, if not here?! Under their own threads? No i think that will be inappropriate...
Now, to the point...
I have my One X for 1 week and already tried first LeeDrOiD (de-sensed) and currently Android Revolution HD (w/sense)... But I could not decide on which one to use...
Both of them still drains lots of battery... I was sick of my iPhone4 because after 2 years of usage It needed to recharge by afternoon if I used it intensely during the day, but now I absolutley need to re-charge every 6 hours if I use it
A solution should be found to this, so I got very interested in your reply cause I was not aware of this ROM... my bad, was looking at only Leedroid & ARHD because of their popularity..
As of now, I can see that the rom is out there, although at the beginning of the topic it says uploading...
Did you have the chance to give it a try? I will appreciate if you can share your experience cause I got tired of changing my ROM and make all necessary installations & logins again and again...
(BTW, which you guys prefer... Sense or de-Sense?)

I use InsertCoin, which is smooth, fast and rock solid. It used to be a great ROM on the original Desire, which posed some problems to really test developers. InsertCoin met the test.
However, given the superb hardware on the One X, I would expect most of the present ROMs to be much the same... excellent.
Battery life is the holy grail, but as the screen is the main drain I can't imagine what can be done other than tinker with the brightness.

im sure this has been posted a thousand fold, but i wanted to post one for the personalization of it. What would you say its the best overall kernel for cm7.2. im about to have a crack at using tiamat with it since it was my personal fav on my incredible. any suggestions?
I like aeroevans 8bfs kernel. His 8 cfs is good too but idk the difference really. His ics v9 kernel supposedly works with gingerbread but I haven't tried it
The v9 kernel works really well with cm7. I would really recommend using it. Battery life is much improved.

If you are sure its been asked, why didn't you search for it. Then the next thing is, test for yourself. Every phone responds different. I'm using AOKP with aeros newest kernel and my phone is flipping amazing, but my wife has lockups and a whole lot of other crap wrong.. it also depends on your governer and use that you do with it. Seriously, this is just another pointless thread that could've been in one of the already open ones...

I Dont understand what the problem is. He posted in the correct section, was polite and simply asked for our opinions. Kernels do change, with updates and whatnot while others get left behind. simply searching and grave digging an old thread doesnt really change anything. Just dont want this place to become a thread-prison.
As for the kernels, tiamat hasnt been updated for our phone in ages, a lot of stuff has changed for GB since their last update. JDK kernel is in the same boat. This leaves the various versions of Aero's kernel essentially, i'd go with .8bfs or the v9 ics kernel, which i'm currently using with no problems.

thank you if youre not gonna help then dont post. its people like that thats made alot of great devs leave xda cause of the trollers.
anyways thanks for all the tips ill try em all out. im currently testing out some sense kernels for great battery life any suggestions there?
I fully agree. When you get a new device you are not sure what is old and what are outdated mods and what is the newest thing sometimes. I agree we should search first. But I have had times where I search and google and still no answers. Then when I finally post a question there is usually someone making a refference about another kitty being killed. I came from the Droid X2 which the phone was crap and Motorola sucks A$$ for locking the phones down. However that forum was very friendly and eager to help out noobs. I do understand some of the questions asked are a little crazy and you can tell they did not search. But if you are pissed about someone posting just ignore it and let some other helpful person respond. And if they post in the wrong section the MR Highway will come get them!! He is awesome at that! Keep up the great work Mr Highway. Sorry just my .02 cents. Also as the noobs learn they help out other noobs and hopefully you respected devs can ignore these simple questions. The DX2 was my first phone and I had no idea what I was doing. With the help of the DX2 community I got up to speed and was able to help others. Look at my thanks count. One noob helping another. I asked plenty of questions when I first came on here had some helpful feedback and some smart remarks. Well needless to say I am now comfortable with flashing Roms,Kernel, radio and moving back and forth from AOSP,Sense, and ICS and I found all the fixes and work around ICS by reading the threads and not asking questions here. Just some food for thought.

Again, our phone lacks a large variety of kernels, however the few we have are solid (probably the reason we dont have 2000 of them xD)
The only kernel i've really used for sense is drellisdee's #21 kernel, it comes with all the usual cpu governors and is included in a lot of ext4 sense roms. It works on sense 2.1, 3.0 and 3.5 in my experience as well.
Hopefully that was of some help :s

Yes, he did post this in the right section if it was just kernel and not ROM specific with CM7.2 why just question for AOSP or sense? And I wasn't rude in my response to him as far as him posting a question. I am irritated knowing that we have just recently had a lot of problems in this thread with people just simply asking questions they could've searched for and reposting the same thing 8,000,000 times (su, killall drmserver) ya that is familiar

Its lack of wanting to put in any time with search and asking the same exact questions over and over that makes DEV's leave.
